IMHO, _The Greatest Scandal of All_ is this: TWO THOUSAND YEARS after Jesus said the harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few, the harvest is _still_ plentiful and the laborers are _still_ far too few. Great in so many ways. I would re-word the claim that 3 billion will "live and die without ever hearing the story not because they don't care but because they don't have a choice." This needs a more theological nuance and focus. There's a real sense in which the 3 billion don't care and don't know to care about the gospel without hearing the gospel. Also the 3 billion do have a choice and are exercising that choice every day to reject the general revelation all around them (Rom 1-3). Unless they hear the word of Christ, they will not have the faith to believe the word of Christ (Rom 10:17).

I too didn't believe but in 1986 I found Jesus. It was a big adjustment and even after 36 years I'm still adjusting. I wasn't raised in 'The Church' so its still a little awkward for me to confess Jesus but I would never deny the Jesus I've come to know. I don't believe I'm better than you, I'm trying to help you. There was a time when I needed such help also. I wish my parents had raised me in the 'Church' but they didn't. But I try to look at it this way, better late than never. You can choose denial but that will cost you. I don't wish that for you, only for very bad people who do very bad things. If I were against you, I would have said nothing and eliminated any possibility of being insulted by a stranger on KZbin.

Very good question, Mark. First of all, you and I--along with everyone who has ever lived--have committed cosmic treason against this "deity." God is infinitely holy, while you and I are terribly unholy. God said the greatest commandment is to love him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. People who break the greatest commandment continually do not deserve anything except death. But GOD made a way for us to be forgiven! JESUS suffered and died so that we would not have to be destroyed as we deserve. Regarding God revealing himself...he does! Creation itself screams that there is a God! And only a fool rejects this knowledge, according to the Bible. That word _fool_ is not referring to a lack of intellect. We know that many smart people do extremely foolish things. God says if you seek him, you will find him. The problem is that people don't seek God. People would rather enjoy their sin than seek a holy Judge who would forbid their sin. Does that describe you?

It is important and he died for it meaning he died for you & me that those who accept he offer of reconciliation become the ones who go and to declare the message of reconciliation.
