In the northeastern Indian state of Assam, a wild region extends over the foothills of the Himalayas. It is here that the Brahmaputra river, with more than 2,500 islands, is home to three million people. Very little infrastructure and no health centres exist, while the monsoon period generates multiple pathologies linked to humidity.
A floating boat hospital moves from island to island to treat these remote populations, with doctors and nurses taking on the impossible task of saving their lives.
