I don't care what other people say, bitterness does destroy. It's like a disease that eats and destroys everything in its past, and the funny thing is is that we have the power of getting rid of the disease, but so many of us choose to live with it and let it continue to spread and destroy. Letting go and forgiving is the only cure and, man, does it feel great. Its like a weight being taken off your chest. God is so great, he is the best example of forgiveness. He's my role model.

So bitter towards my dad he’s never really shown he’s cared for me but for my siblings he does, God chose me to walk this life and now my mother is distant from me. They all loved me and stayed in contact when i was doing things the world way and now it’s like whatever talk to you later and bye. But my dad it’s always been this way. Pray for me I need God to remove the roots of bitterness and I’ve expressed to him how I feel and it fell on deaf ears

Everybody has "justifiable resentment and unforgiveness", but it's so good just to let go of it because it just poisons. Reading scripture and praying to the Lord heals those wounds. My dad was an alcoholic,druggy and he abused my mum physically and emotionally but today I'm free from hating on my dad, I just pray for him and he's getting better.

my father died before I could make peace with him so if you have a father your beefin with or your a father beefin with ya child drop it cause it's not worth the feeling of guilt you get by hating them and one day there gone and you don't have that chance love your children more then life itself but less then you love god!!!!!
@Okcflyboy8612 жыл бұрын
The best advice I can remember is not to focus on the hate but the love of Christ. With all that we've been guilty of doing to him through our sinful nature he really had no obligation to forgive us. But because of the love he has he not only forgave us but stands ready to give us the riches of kingdom. When I think about it in that light it only seems logical for me to forgive people. Not only because it's the right thing to do but because I know I'm gonna need God to forgive eventually.

My biological father never wanted me. He asked my mom to get an abortion. I never felt loved or like I belonged most of my life. It led me down a destructive path and when I turned 21 I made my last attempt at suicide. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and I damaged my heart. The cardiologist told me my heart would never be the same. Today I thank God for sparing my life. I was so hopeless but he restored me. Every thing I went through humbled me and now I look at life differently. It truly breaks my heart seeing so many precious lives broken because healing is possible. It's work but it is possible. Please keep me in prayer 💛

This song ministered to me. Since I was a little girl, living in a fatherless home (divorce parents) I have bitter feelings towed him. Just listening to this song reminded me of how if I don't accept the fact what happen I'm the past and not move forward (forgiveness) then that is not of God becauSe he is of love and grace. But it's so hard dealing and carrying on this burden on for years. Lord "I don't want to be..." Please release this off my heart...

okcflyboy is right, especially about where your focus should be. to always remember the pain is like always picking the scab. And another way to not be bitter is face the situation. Go to your dad and say this is how you made me feel but i'm choosing to forgive you because its the right thing to do and because God wants me to. And the process will take time so be patient and trust in God and most importantly Pray about it 24/7 until the relationship is restored, because prayer is powerful :)

Coming from a home where my parents both split as well, I can relate. I held a cold heart towards both of them for a long time, simply because it was the easiest thing to do. But it was never satisfying. I encourage you to forgive your parents, and then ask for forgiveness from God for having a stone cold heart towards them. Sometimes we forget that just because they hurt us, doesn't mean we haven't sinned in our hearts towards them. I pray that Jesus' burden is light on you! Love you! God Bless

Man did I need to hear this song! Love it! It's crazy cuz an evangelist at church a couple weeks ago preached a MSG titled "From bitter to better". I don't wanna be bitter & I must forgive if Jesus can forgive the ppl who crucified him. I haven't nearly gone through anything like that even though the hurt is something serious! Gotta forgive if I wanna be forgiven. Keep reaching ppl for the kingdom Andy!!!

This song helped me through a time in my life where I was bitter, me and my girlfriend broke up in May of last year, i posted stuff about positivity and relationships to indirectly throw shade at her. I was told there was something in my life I couldn't control. That made me so bitter. It made me to hateful towards everything because it was like there was no hope but when I realized that it is a choice, that I can subdue it, it gives me hope. But robbing myself of freedom with the lie that says every thought is my own and reflection of one moment of hurt. Is that true? I guess I want to believe that it's a choice again and that Jesus allows me to conquer sin. Because any other doctrine leaves me hopeless.

there are some things that we can't choose to be free from on our own. Some of us are born with low self esteem, or born with a struggle of lusting too much. but Jesus is a god of the impossible, meaning with him, you can choose the impossible. you can choose to completely let God guide you to where you need to be, despite how "impossible" it is
