One of the major tests/assignments was preaching a 15-20min message to the lead pastor of the church running the school and the staff. I was doing just fine. But, all of a sudden I began to stutter for a moment. I was reading aloud the Word and had stuttered over the word "ship." I quickly corrected myself and moved on. No one smirked or chuckled. I completed my message and was given critiques by staff. The lead pastor then said that class is dismissed. I began to gather my things when he then said, "oh, by the way, Daniel, we all know that you said 'shit!'" Then began to walk away. His wife made a face and did a playful slap at him. Staff rolled their eyes. One of my... fellow students dropped his jaw, quite literally, and sat there in awe that the lead pastor just said shit. For the remainder of the day he was dumbfounded. Lesson: yes, words have individual meaning, but how are you using them? Lol fun times anyways.
