​​@@DazaiDank, that's why "good" and "bad" are somewhat subjective terms when it comes to video games. A game can be a critical darling and get absolutely blasted by players or can be a critical bomb, but beloved by many...even games that one gamer loves others cannot *stand*. Case in point, I could do without the dearth of FPS games on consoles (FPS games are much better on PC), sports games, or many action-adventure titles (Uncharted, Tomb Raider, etc.)...and these are the types of games that a lot of gamers adore (and, conversely, my favorite genres tend to be either ignored (puzzle/point and click...I grew up with a bunch of MacVenture games, like Shadowgate) or crammed somehow into another genre (RPGs; many elements have slowly been introduced to other genres, but the genre's core has been somewhat lost...now, what is considered an RPG is rather difficult to separate from, say, an action-adventure game with RPG leveling and looting)). Something being "indie" doesn't mean it's automatically good or bad, either...it simply means that the rights aren't owned by a major publisher at the time.

I really like how Erin knows stuff that's way older than her, not only in this React video. That's why I'm always excited to catch clips with her. "Excitebike"! What an awesome blast from the past, for someone older....like me. LOL

Excitebike was my jam back on the NES...never understood why they tried to remake it, though (although that was fairly common at the time...that was right around the same time as Shadowgate 64, wasn't it?), if it didn't really sell originally. The fact that she was also the one to drop Earthbound (and not "Mother 2") is another point for her...if you didn't play it (or another in the series...and that includes Super Smash Bros, too) or learn about it through research, you probably would think it was a fever dream or a hallucination since it was so off-the-wall (for a short time, a *bee* is the strongest member in your party, you fight a circus tent, you deal with aliens that speak in what I can only consider a Wing Dings-like font, you get turned into a robot, you can fight a giant space womb...and your fourth character's given name (I believe you can change it) is Prince Poo).

That's why, when the focus is on a wide-ranging series, you don't go for the clearly obvious one first (I'm not even through the intro yet, but I'm gonna say that Cloud makes an appearance in that prompt)...you reward the *true* fans by using a deep cut (for example, if the answer is Final Fantasy (as a series, not any particular game), throw in a set of Magitek Armor, a lesser-used summon like Yojimbo, or something). Hell, go general and drop an AI Viera (for those unaware, the Viera are effectively a race of rabbit women...the series has moved on beyond humans, elves, dwarves, and Moogles) or Bangaa (a race of militaristic lizardfolk) to confuse them.

Being not from the USA, I'm always surprised at how all the women in these vids are well versed at video games - something that in Europe is not that commonplace. Especially in the eastern europe there's a certain stigma surrounding video games as an almost exclusively male past time (with exception for The Sims and maybe some HoMM here and there. And GTA, for reasons similar to The Sims). And it's really refreshing.

Imagine getting upset for someone spoiling a *20-year-old* game (erroneously)...that'd be like me getting pissy for people discussing the ending to Batman Begins or Revenge of the Sith (both movies I've never seen...in movie series that I've never seen, to boot (the only Batman movie I've seen is Batman '66)); after a certain point, cultural icons (including movies and video games) pretty much lose any spoilers since they're ingrained in the consciousness of the majority (hell, I know how Titanic, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings end and I've only seen bits and pieces of one of those). If they were spoiling things like Starfield, Death Stranding, or whichever zombie survival game is most popular nowadays (it's still The Last of Us, yeah?), I could see the argument, but a game that has been out for two decades and has been discussed to death since day one? There's still a reason to play it, though, since there's an area that is inaccessible through one normal playthrough...but you aren't gonna like it much...

While I normally would agree with you here, the game has been around since 2005/2006 and has had the re-release/remake treatment (released again in 2011 and remade in 2018) and plenty of information out there spoils the ending. It's like saying that people talking about the ending of movies like Batman Begins or Revenge of the Sith are "spoiling" it for those that haven't seen them (like me, even 20 years past release)...after a certain point, some cultural icons (of which many consider Shadow of the Colossus, due in no small part to the twist/ending) just enter into the collective consciousness and effectively lose any spoilers...if this weren't the case, I could complain about people discussing the ending of the original Star Wars trilogy because they're "spoiling" a movie I've never seen (nor have I had any interest to do so); I never was interested in playing SotC, but it features heavily in some gaming channel circles (I watch a lot of Outside XBox/Outside Xtra and the game shows up on several of their list features), so I know what's going on with the game, even without playing one second of it.
