@Ahmet Just because it’s not your type of music doesn’t mean that effort wasn’t put in. Do you hear music like this often? No? That’s because the genre/style/storytelling format is not meant to fit into the mainstream music type. Just because something is different doesn’t make it bad. I’m sure she could make music with lyrics written the way most popular music is written but that’s not where her interests lie. I for one love that she approaches music differently than most.

The difference between the girls reactions and the boys reaction to songs like strawberry shortcake and Orange juice is so differnt. Like the girls were talkung about how it has an important message and the guy in the blue shirt was just like "theres definitely a lot of metaphors here". Instead of focusing on the moral of the song, he was talking about how she refered to her body as a strawberry shortcake. I think he just didnt get the main ideas. Like in oj when he was just like "ew", instead of realizing how harsh and real eating disorders are. Edit: no hate, im just trying to point out the difference if perspective between boys and girls

In my own opinion, I think what the ending rly meant is the reason why crybaby didnt wanna go to the other side of the door is because she knows that theres still people who's stuck and not gonna be able to go with them. Shes afraid and concerned because those ppl might go through the same difficult road that crybaby has gone through. I mean yeah the ones left behind are the bad ones, but whats the point? Crybabys not gonna be able to live with the guilt if ahe left them, instead she doubted and wanted to help those ppl be a better person because she sees the good in them..

There are 3 types of people here. We have the amazing fans that loved Melanie already before the movie, and gets all the deep messages hidden underneath all the creepiness. We have the also fans, but the only difference is they don't really get the deep messages in her songs and think its only purpose is to be creepy. Aand then there are the people that that just have no idea what the hell was going on.

I am well-acknowledged that Melanie Martinez’s K-12 lyrics are “under the nose” or a bit “lazy” as one of the reactors have said. But it was actually intentional for Melanie Martinez to write it like that. Melanie herself during the Cry Baby era that her second album would involve Cry Baby being the narrator of K-12. So those lyrics in Wheels on The Bus and Class Fight, Lunchbox Friends that may seem like cheesy are actually meeting with Melanie’s purpose which is Cry Baby being the narrator of the K-12 era
