I'm proud to say I've been to a drive-in movie theater! It was one the last times I visited my aunt and uncle when they lived in Bakersfield. I was about 12-years-old at the time. It was a double-feature of Escape from New York and Escape from L.A. We laid down in the back of my uncle's pick-up, and as a result, I eventually fell asleep. It's a fond memory I'll never forget.

I posted something a week or so ago about the range of reactors you have at the moment and this is a prime example of my meaning. In a podcast about 80's movies you don't have a single GenX reactor, who actually llived through it at an age to really experience these movies. So my question is, what gives? I know we're sometimes refered to as the Forgotten Generation but you used to have quite a few older reactors. Either way, I really enjoyed the discussion and would like to recommend some films that weren't mentioned... Stripes, Ladyhawke, Blade Runner, Amadeus, Full Metal Jacket, The Blues Brothers, The Elephant Man, Repo Man, Brazil and Police Academy.

Ghostbusters trivia: the camp that Dan Ackroyd mentioned in Ghostbusters regarding the staypuft marshmallow man actually exists, it is a girls camp outside of Kingston Ontario near where Dan lives. Dan is from Kingston Ontario. I only learned this bit of trivia when I went to a training camp at Camp Oconto. When I was at Queens University Dan used to hang around at a bar popular with students called the Trash.

Here is a suggestion for a topic... How about, how would you build out a triple feature? Not necessarily sticking with 80's movies, although that would be a difficulty setting. One rule to keep in mind, no trilogies or related movies in the mix. You can't put Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2 in. For example... If you are doing a triple feature of spoof movies - 1)Airplane, 2) Top Secret (Val Kilmer's first movie) 3) Hot Shots Part Deux. Sword and Sorcery movies - 1) Sword and the Sorceror, 2) Beastmaster 3) Conan the Destroyer 80's Sci Fi - 1) Aliens 2) Terminator 2 3) The Abyss Try it with buddy cop movies, 80's coming of age movies, westerns, war movies, etc.

I loved the last dragon as well, saw it in theaters. I knew all the lines in that movie!! I also loved almost all of Molly Ringwald's movies, like: The breakfast club, 16 candles, Pretty in pink, and more! Also, The Lost boys, Weird Science, ET, Ghostbusters franchise, Beverly Hills cop franchise, St. Elmore's fire, About last night, movies were just better then.

Born in 1964, but also a Generation Xer and my top 5 all time favorite 80's movies are: Stand By Me, The Goonies, The Lost Boys, The Monster Squad and Willow. In 1978 I went to a drive in in South Carolina and saw GREASE. I believe that is the only time I went to a drive in movie. I was known as THE SOUNDTRACK GIRL for a long time at my jobs and the kids I took care of, because I still have epic soundtracks on CD to this day. Some were imported from different countries from Ebay and they include The Neverending Story II-The Next Chapter from Germany and Bugsy Malone from England. LOL.

As far as 80s soundtracks and scores, Batman had both. You had Danny Elfman doing the score, a major 80s icon singer/songwriter. And then they had Prince, one of the kings of pop/rock.I owned both back in the day and saw it twice in theaters. I saw the movie on a Thursday night opening preview, waited in line to get tickets, and then showed up nearly two hours before the movie started to wait in line to get in. Best movie ever. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU DIDN'T TALK ABOUT BATMAN!!

I'm surprised no one talked about Highlander. Not only an epic action/sci-fi about an immortal Scottish highlander, but when they spoke about the music from 80's movies being their own character, keep in mind that all the music in Highlander was written and performed by Queen. The intro itself was so iconic, it was used in the Highlander series as the intro as well.
