The voice actresses for Ochako and Toga popped off, in an interview leading up to this episode Ochako's VA said that she cried so much during her lines and even after the session was done she took a walk around the city while tearing up

3:55 With the development of Toga and Uraraka’s relationship seeming very much like a tragic love story, the words of the counselor takes on a whole new meaning here. Toga being told to “act normal”, to not draw attention to herself, and to not express love in the way she believes she should

We got a bit of a glimpse into Toga's past back in MVA but I'm glad Horikoshi delved a little deeper this time. Once again, a lot of the parents in this series kinda suck. And this also says a lot not just about the parents but about the quirk counseling system and hero society at large. Rather than trying to provide Toga with a healthy alternative or teaching her that just because she has a quirk relating to blood doesn't define her, they instead lean into the stereotype that we've seen ever since Shinso was introduced. People with quirks that are seen as "scary" or "villainous" are treated like villains. Called freaks or subhuman. The quirk counseling only tried to convert Toga into being "normal" and her parents called her inhuman. There was no attempt to help. There was only forced conversion. And because of a lack of support, she eventually became the monster they accused her of being. I see people talking about how, "Oh. Just because they have a sad backstory doesn't justify their actions". And, obviously. Their backstory is to show how they got their mindset. Not to say that they're right. However, that doesn't mean that the message they're asking is wrong. That's what Horikoshi is trying to convey. That's what Nagant's entire character is about when she first appeared. To ask the question, "After the heroes defeat the villains, what next?" If the answer is that everything goes back to the way it was, then they failed. They didn't learn anything. More Toga's, Toya's and Tenko's will be created. The system currently in place is one that rejects people who look different, people who think different, and people with quirks that are considered to be "villainous". Even if the heroes defeat the villains of today, unless they change the system in place, they will actively be creating the villains of tomorrow. And in that sense, unless there is true change, there can be no victory. And I think this all ties back to Twice's line in the Overhaul arc. "I may be a villain, but I'm still human". These people were treated as less than human in some instances. And only by acknowledging all of their qualities, both good and bad can the human inside of them be understood. Ochako was able to find the source of Toga's pain. Her parents and those around her called her less than human. An anomaly. They said her smile was creepy and sickening. Ochako saw that same smile, that same person. And she said Toga was the cutest in the whole world and that she's willing to spend the rest of her life giving her blood. Ochako knows that blood is the way Toga feels and expresses love. For Deku. For Stain. For Ochako herself. And she showed Toga she was willing to accept all of her love. Ochako succeeded in saving a villain. Let's see if Deku can do the same with Shiggy

Wow! Such a great analysis and it makes total sense and I can understand better the approach to the villians in MHA right now!

Couldn't have said it better myself. It's like what Shoji said to the rioters, that their feelings that drove them to this violence weren't wrong, but their actions were.

There are two reasons why there are only 21 episodes compared to the usual 25. 1) Their were 4 memories episodes before season 7 began. Episodes that were recapping everything that's up until season 7. These episodes had some anime onlies scenes as well as reanimated scenes, so I can imagine that ate up some production time (assuming the anime team were also working on those episodes) 2) You can guess how many chapter they'll adapt due to patterns from the previous season. From this, Manga fans realized that season 7 would possibly be a shorter season because the anime actually caught to the manga.

So if u want an explanation the reason why toga couldn't use her (togas) full power was because she started wielding her blade out of hatred instead of love like before. What's funny Toga already unlocked urarakas full power prev back when she announced exactly the person who she was (announced her freedom) to curious, the blue lady, back in mva. Because the reason uraraka couldn't use her full power was because she always bottled up her urges, and desires. Because she wasn't free. But she (uraraka) let it all out, causing her awakening.

Crazy animation, amazing soundtrack and beautiful moment for both Ochako and Toga but can we talk about their voice actresses? These women were going OFF in the studio

What’s cool is that, especially with the imagery in this episode, Toga is very much like a combination of Venom and Carnage. When Venom was obsessed with Spider-man, he was able to do similar things. And Carnage is just a far more bloodthirsty or blood-obsessed offspring of Venom

A correction: The word "suck/kiss" is used by Toga. When she's saying suck, shes also expressing a kiss. She's kissing their booboos, drinking their blood, showing her love. This is important because Toga didn't attack people (the injured bird and injured Saito weren't victims) until AFTER she was made the monster.By then, it was just her letting loose. Smh

This might be stretching it, but i relate togas quirk situation with kids who are queer or has disabilities. Like toga, they behave or have certain likes that (although is not thier fault), are seen weird or bad by society and doesn't/didnt get the proper help or understanding and acceptance they needed

What pissed me off is that they have a poll for which heroes look villains.

I can imagine that All Might’s death would lead to a significant boost in Deku’s power, as his it was stated that he’d made One for All his own
