*People sometimes forget about how young the league, especially Toga, still is. All this time, all Toga really needed was a person to accept her and her love. Her life really has been sad, so to finally have someone like Uraraka reach out to her, yeah, I’d smile too... :,)*

Gotta say, I wasn’t expecting to cry more than the last episode, but here we are. Toga’s finally getting the validation that she needed all this time. Wish they could’ve met sooner, since Uraraka’s really got a heart of gold.
@Alphaleague2933 ай бұрын
I always was able to like this storyline a bit, but I think this fight is what made me go back and actually reread through all of it to really understand it and it’s just so well done. From the Beginning, Uraraka had a love for Deku that made her want to be like him and emulate him, but because she felt like being a hero would conflict with her feelings, she concealed them and put on a mask, the same way Toga did her whole life. It’s why from the beginning Toga was able to understand and see through Uraraka and considered her “the sad one”, because unlike Uraraka, Toga was now living in her truth of who she was, someone who could openly love anyone and express it after years of repression. When the reporter from My Villian Academia shows up in togas thoughts, it reminds her of the fact that the common world sees Toga as just a help case/tragic story, and pities her way of life. But to Toga, she’s just living normally, she’s not faking. It’s why she couldn’t be twice completely, or the others. She didn’t want to murder people, she just wanted to be with the people who’d be able to make a world she could live in as herself. By Uraraka admitting her whole life story to her, and admiring how toga is able to do the one thing she can’t, express her feelings to the one she loves, she reaches Toga. Just by being someone with empathy. It makes sense because from the beginning, Uraraka’s feelings on life and people haven’t necessarily changed, but have just been reformed because of her experiences. Her wanting to see people happy stemmed from her parents. Her wanting to save the heroes comes from how she saw Deku giving his all even when broken. I even like how she admits that seeing someone bloodied and still doing their best is the coolest thing to her, because that’s what she’s always seen with both her parents and Deku. Hori just does a good job at tying things together and rewarding viewers for being invested.

God bless you whoever you are I watched it in sub so the dialogue were very confusing and it made me find the episode boring but I loved the plot of the episode nonetheless and you've made me love it even more....

I love this analysis. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, it provides some insight. I was honestly confused on how to process this complex mix of emotions from both of them and couldn't understand why Uraraka was so obsessed on trying to reach her (Toga) when it seems like she was a lost cause. And with all the damage Toga has caused.

As a manga reader, I had been bracing for this particular episode. The music, voice acting, and of course, story coming together hits so hard. I try to tell people when they get upset there aren't more fight scenes, or that they don't get what the series is about, that it's about how we connect with people and the importance of taking the time to be kind to people. Kindness and compassion are never a waste. I think of how people in the real world get neglected and go down these dark paths every day. All of these stories are metaphors for real life struggles. That's the purpose of storytelling: to convey an emotion or experience in a digestible way. And I think MHA in particular does an exceptional job at conveying those emotions. Loved your reaction though! Thank you for sharing!

Very good interpretation and reaction. This is the problem where everyone has individual super powers. Her capability beings able to turn into someone else by consuming blood made her so attached to the process of it. A lot of reactor just don’t get what Toga’s going through, so your example of what if ‘drinking water’ which is only normal for you but insane and unacceptable to the society and people around is exactly the point. It’s really sad how easily someone can be an outcast

Have all my respect and more for the tears haha (and I hope no viewer will ever disrespect you for it)) Great reaction dude! Very empathetic, insightful and well articulated how Toga’s life could’ve been made better, the love triangles and everything. I don't know how to explain this episode, but it was really good. I was really touched by the conflict between them (toga and ochako) in my eyes it was just like a fight that would pass like in general, but somehow it felt different and really touched my feelings. I was even moved and cried today because I watched it. This is really a very good and beautiful work. This episode really plays with the feelings when we watch it

I almost cried and as a Toga fan, I’m so happy Ochako genuinely reached out to understand Toga. That’s all she needed, someone to attempt to understand, and I feel like they’re a good example of besties with completely different personalities but are close nonetheless. A real girl’s girl, I know it’s pure cheese but I love it.

Toga’s parents could have taught her to fish or hunt and she could have sustained herself off the blood of animals. Instead they choose to degrade and dehumanize her, might be the worst parents in the show.
