Another quality reaction! And the reaction to Faker showing up always gets me lol. Love watching reactions to these, even when they were those of last year. As others have said, the Golden Road is all those wins (Spring, MSI, Summer, Worlds). The story line was incredible for this. Faker saying they will stop the Golden Road (JDG) and they actually end up playing them in knockouts and they (T1) actually end up stopping the Golden Road. That match has my favorite commentator line ever. So many good commentator moments in the last couple Worlds. It's also worth noting, since you've seen the Faker documentary for Hall of Legends and saw but maybe don't remember, but Ruler was on the team that stopped Faker and created that moment of Faker with his head down that transitions into him in the chair (one of the sickest moments in a teaser for LoL). The fact that Faker caught Ruler in mid, much the same as Ruler caught him in mid lane, is just insane. Ruler being on Varus (the same champion in both instances) just makes it all the better. The universe really willed that into existence (Or the scriptwriters if you believe that).

MSI stands for Mid-Season Invitational which is a tournament of the best teams from each region face off, similarly to worlds but in the middle of the year and with less teams. (It isn't held to the same high standard as worlds but it is the 2nd most important tournament of the year for league.)

In a year, there are four main tournaments. There's the Spring Split. Teams play in their respective regions to qualify for MSI. Then there's the Mid-Season Invitation, or MSI, which is the first international tournament. After that is the Summer Split, another regional tournament the determines who goes the World Championship. Lastly, there's Worlds. A team that wins all four tournaments, within the same year, completes the Golden Road. And no one has achieved that yet. The teams that came closest to achieving it: - 2015 T1: Didn't win MSI. - 2016 T1: Didn't win Summer. - 2018 RNG (LPL/Chinese team): Didn't win Worlds. - 2019 G2 (EU team): Didn't win Worlds. - 2023 JDG (LPL/Chinese team): Didn't win Worlds.

There are a few teams that have gotten close to the achieving the golden road (G2, SKT T1, etc.) but no one has actually achieved it. With constant game/meta changes, it’s so extremely hard to make happen, especially within the last few years since competition has gotten harder and higher level

6:20 That is T1 defeated by Samsung Galaxy (Former Gen G), which includes Ruler on their roster, in the 2017 Worlds final. Back to 2023, Ruler is about to achieve "Golden Road" by moving his team from Gen G to JDG. Also, the Faker scene is overlaping his defeat in 2017 and his present scene to show that Faker is seeking for revenge on Ruler.

Love the reaction. Worlds 2023 Finals Teaser is another extremely emotional masterpiece of storytelling . If you are interested in the lore of LOL competitive scene, Faker and T1, I highly recommend EGO’s 2-ep documentary of Faker. It is extremely well-made and suitable for new watchers as they will highlight and explain things that new league viewers are usually confused about the gameplay. Faker’s stories deeply entangled with the rise of LoL eSports, his struggle as he grows as a person, his rivalries, coach and teammates, how this current roster of T1 was born, their bonding and hardships to finally win a championship and why Faker loves the boys so much, all would be told here.

Spring and Summer refer to regional championships, so if you are the best team of LCK(Korea) it's because you won the "split" which is the term that refers to either Spring or Summer seasons of play against other LCK teams, and so-on for every other region. MSI is like Worlds where all teams come together to compete internationally across regions between splits. Worlds is given more credit than MSI in order to decide the best for the "year" but they are essentially equal to eachother just like Spring and Summer are.

First of all, your content related to LoL is awesome. Thanks for it! In my opinion, the trailer for this year's Swiss stage is even better. The part reminiscent of 2019's G2 gave me goosebumps, I have watched it like 10 times already xD This 2023 trailer was good because of the last Faker transition, which is insane. But, imo, the trailer of this year is way better, it has a lot of stories. PS: im working on doing a small list of Lol videos for you, non-related to Worlds. Everyone is giving you Worlds videos, but there are some epic videos around. Maybe tomorrow ill leave a comment with it ^^

MSI is the second largest championship after worlds. It’s basically teams all over the globe just like worlds, but not as important as worlds. And spring with summer are national tournaments in each country that later on participate at MSI and worlds. So if a team wins all four of that, it’s is called “Golden Road”, which no one managed to achieve so far.

Golden road will more harder next year becuz they are adding 1 more international tournament and the regions are adding a quick tournament for that tournaments qualification, which only teams who won the new regional tournament. So the golden road will now require 6 tournements wins which most think is now impossible except for korea as they are fusing the spring and summer to one big tournament which is very weird

Golden road = winning spring, msi, summer, and worlds. JDG in 2023 was the closest to achieving this. Ruler is in JDG(2023) hoisting the world cup in 2017(He was in Samsung Galaxy) by defeating Faker and making him cry. So this trailer is now Faker addressing JDG to stop their Golden Road the first in LoL history. And Faker did just that in 2023 semifinals.

The golden road is to win them in the same year Faker has two years in which he has 3 and being a finalist in the one he lost So he was close twice but not really becuz they were msi 2015 ( litelarly one game away becuz the score was 2 3 and it was against deft) and summer 2016 Which cuts golden road way early
