*Ken Kaneki,* Rize, Hideyoshi "Hide" Nagachika, Uta, Renji Yomo, Kenzou Yushimaru, Amon Koutarou, Juuzou Suzuya, Kaya Irimi, Ayato Kirishima & Touka Kirishima are my favourite characters. This is my top favourite anime which I highly recommend, by the way! It was very first anime! I would watch it in English dubbing. In my opinion it has more emotion.

I love that with your theory, you get so close and then so far all at the same time 😂😂 The openings don’t really give you a great deal of info A general synopsis is, its a world of humans and ghouls, ghouls just being another species that humans are afraid of, and our main character accidentally gets thrown into the mix of it all

tbf the openings do give a lot of info, but only in the lyrics and you need SOME background knowledge. Tho I like that the openings dont spoil a lot.

The lady hands is rize who is a ghoul that tried to kill him until pipes "mysteriously" fell on her and a doctor put her organs in kaneki (the main protagonist) to as like experiment do the hands in the 2nd opening that puts on the mask for him (it represents his ghoul side) and his best friend hide takes off his mask (that represents his human side)

One thing I like about the second opening is the hands the first pair belong to a person who played a big part in him becoming a ghoul- so they put the mask on him, and the second pair belong to one of the people who helped him come to terms with his new life and learn that should aren't inherently monsters - so they remove the mask to show his face

Warning at how graphic it is; it throws some people off. ​It deals with heavy topics especially; struggling with morality. ​What is the moral thing to do, and what happens when you are forced to do things that aren't morally proper? ​I highly recommend at least checking out the 1st season. Tokyo Ghoul is one of the only series I have actually finished the entirety of, and I could rewatch the 1st season repeatedly. Unfortunately, I don't even remember what happened in the 2nd season, I only remember what some of the characters looked like. However, it has been many years since I watched the show and I've rewatched season 1 a few times and only watched season 2 once when I was trying to go to sleep for the night. My sleep has always been horrible but at that time it was nonexistent. I just don't want that to persuade any opinion on the second season since I didn't watch it properly. ​I will say the anime title is literal; you are correct. It takes place in Tokyo, and they are called Ghouls. Other than that, go in not knowing anything; that is best

White hair and black hair boy are one and the same! Ghouls kind of fill the vampire tropes in some way. They look human and feed on humans but have some special powers. Tokyo Ghoul focuses a lot on psychological dilemmas, especially for the main character. Honestly, the anime is a bit crappy compared to the source material. There’s a LOT of important stuff left out.
