Couple notes: This is completely uncut. I hate the idea of removing one second of sound from this album. IDK if it'll get blocked or not. If the ads get too annoying (I have no control over that, copyright owners cram them in), Patreon is $2 About half way in, I essentially start speaking to the listener rather than talking specifically about the album (went Dad mode basically). I hope what I say helps any of you who may be suffering, and I sincerely hope I didn't get too out of line with some of my thoughts. One day at a time, friends ❤

I just wanna say that X was far more than just "not really a good person" because of his past. He has done horrible things that shouldn't be justified, but he did still repent at the end. At a certain point in his life/career he stopped being that angry/violent dude and instead directly spoke to the youth. He genuinely tried to help people and make the world a better place. X understood his enormous influence on the youth and therefore the future. I remember him trying his best to unite the people, motivate them to be their best self and to speak kindly to others. As i said; X had a gruesome past. But I think it shouldn't be forgotten what kind of man he was at the end and what he wanted to achieve. Some of his last recorded words in a livestream was actually "if i die, i hope i made at least 5 milion kids happy" and i think that sums up pretty good what kind of man he was at the end. A man striving to make world a better place

You should check out some of his older stuff before he blew up. Did you know X and Denzel used to live together? His life was really eventful and he really worked hard to wipe the slate clean and become a better person before he passed. I’d recommend the “Revenge” Album. You’ll experience a different side to X and there’s some rock influence on there too. To provide some context: X rose to fame with his hard hitting 808 aggressive grunge-rap style before the release of this project. He released a song called "Look at Me" which is raw, vulgar, and loud. Music made for mosh pits. It quickly went viral. He released a number of songs like this (with Ski Mask the Slump God) and other Floridian rappers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXuqlKp7q5xraZo He then was arrested and his mug shot went super viral. The face tats, his hair, his overall look jarred people. He then gained even more notoriety with his live shows - people said they were insane. Mosh pits, stage dives, fights in the crowd. He had insanely good crowd control. He started building almost his own cult following. There are videos online. It's insanely impressive for a 17 year old kid. But clearly, he had a lot of life experience, confidence, and wisdom that resonated with young folks that also connected to feeling empty or like an outsider. He then did an interview on No Jumper with Adam22 where he barely shows his face. It's still the biggest video on that channel. He fascinated people. He built a feud with Drake, calling him out publicly during his rise (Drake was accused of stealing X's flow on "Look at Me" for his song "KMT"). He then had beef and had altercations with the Migos. He rubbed some established industry folks the wrong way because he was uncontrollable and raw. He spoke a lot of truth (on IG live videos) that he learned from hard experiences and seemed to be becoming a better person. He released 17 at the height of this newfound stardom and it shocked everyone because the album didn't have any aggressive mosh-pit style rap songs that he got famous for - instead it was introspective. Love this album. You should really watch his live performances to understand the power in his music and its influence over his fans.

It took me until about a year ago to stop listening to my depressing playlist and I realised I’m better without it. Although I love X and this album especially it just wasn’t healthy. I became addicted to being miserable and still struggle with that to this day, but I’m getting better. I tattooed x’s 17 with the tree of no attachment (the tree on his forehead) on my arm as a reminder of that dark time and the masterpiece of an album that described perfectly how I felt. I never want to forget x and he was a once in a lifetime artist who never got to show his full potential. The reason why he has such a cult following is because nobody describes pain quite like jahseh did, especially at that time. His music saved lives and helped so many through dark times.

im from austria in europe, and Ive been listening to X since soundcloud. for me he is my top 1 artist all time for several reasons. his complete sound and versatility, the raw talent with so many music styles, u got a song for every mood. he helped me through 4 hard depressive episodes and i thank him and trippie too for my life now, bc i wouldnt either be here or in a much different spot. i love how u get into the song immersively and can feel what he was picturing. for me the best reaction to 17 by far. thank you for sharing it

9:57 I just wanted to say you are beyond blessed to have never experienced a friend taking their own life at your age. I've experienced 3 at the age of 24. Lost one of my closest friends at 16, another at 18, and another at 22. As well as a few other friends/mutual friends in highschool, another guy named Nick I was in photo 1 and 2 with, shot and killed himself my sophmore year, he was the first person I ever knew that took their own life, he was an amazing person. Just like my other 3 friends, kade, nick, and lakota. May they all rest in peace.

The thing with X and this album in particular is he was one of the main artist bringing the saturated 808 screaming mosh pit rap into the scene, he was known for being angry, loud and for his troubles in the past that always resolve in violence, theres a lot of clips of X just fighting people, and this album was the start of his healing journey and becoming a positive figure for his fanbase, he started doing lives on ig and twitch giving people good messages about the future, playing games with his fans and admiting his problems, working with charity and squashing any beef he had with any artist in the past, trying to be a guide for new artist rising up and literally about to become a father when he got killed, so this album was shocking for a lot of people, he is probably one of the most dynamic artist ever, i recommend you hearing some singles from the past, and the "revenge" project where he shows the "rage" type music and some variety too (he even dapped in Rock) so yeah A Man is a Man when he owns his mistakes and use them to guide others so they dont do the same when the sucess is just another tool to heal and help others X was becoming a man inside and outside (he died at 20)

Bob’s sentiments about relationships and depression are spot-on, specifically on the second half of the album. Great commentary here! So wild how big this guy was when he was around, his songs on SoundCloud especially. Some of his early stuff was so abrasive and angsty, makes sense why it resonated and was an entry point for so many kids

Appreciate the listen. Would love to hear more of your thoughts on the rest of his work, and even some earlier songs in his career. He goes through “stages” of his life with the music reflecting that. Also, I would love to hear some juice wrld reactions. Thanks again, revisited some old moments and feelings listening to this with you as if it was my first time again.

I was dating a long time friend last week when I watched this for the first time. Today, we’re no longer together and usually when I get into an emotional phase I’d go back to this album and sit and obsess over the sadness. Last week Bob, you said it’s a familiar devil, and today I’m battling the obsession and negativity because of the words you were able to convey that I could not see on my own. Thank you for dropping this, ironically enough I’ve waited years for it but didn’t expect it to be so personal now

I spilt this reaction up over the course of two days, and is a testament of why I’m subscribed to you. I love the messages you share and the way you digest these albums. As cliche as it is, X & Peep are two of my favorite artists. I can’t listen to either of em’ the same as I’ve gotten older, but I enjoyed this watch. Would love for you to react to some Lil Peep one day, “Come Over When You’re Sober Pt.1” The documentary titled Everybody’s Everything is a fair insight of his upbringing as well. Two polarizing figures of mid 2010s Thanks Bob!
