Mate needs to check out 1.2 runs. They might not be quite as fast but we've pushed it far! P5 of course started running it and got the world record the other day, but Qentiko came and took it right back, pushing it more than a minute further! If only we had zuggle, then we'd frankly kick 1.0's buttocks!

Off topic but i wanted to thank you for the BOtW 100% run you did on your other channel in the lead up to ToTK's release. Last year was really bad for me and having a reliable 10 or 15 minutes a day to turn my brain off and just think about a game was immensely helpful. I know that wasn't your intention when making it but it really helped me and i wanted you to know that all the times you posted while sick or when you built up a stockpile before going out of town were really appreciated. It would have been perfectly okay if you had taken some breaks but it was also nice to know there would be a video every day.

I love it when you do commentary. I really think it's a niche absolutely perfect for you. Your expertise combined with your entertaining and insightful comments makes for a fantastic viewing experience. Great job! Can't wait to see you do runs again!

You're the best man. Most really good players are not that entertaining, and most entertaining players aren't the most skilled. You really are the best of both worlds. I was wondering where you went. I'm glad your wrist is feeling better. Wrist pain sucks. Try keeping a clay cold pack (the gel ones don't work that well) in your freezer and use that after every session to reduce inflammation.

Sounds dumb, but I’m proud of you for taking the time to recover, and seeing it as even being something that could be used constructively. I know how hard it is to be competitive and deal with that drive to keep on forcing through, or coming back too early - and it’s always a trap. Can’t imagine how much harder that is with streaming/vid pressure on top. But this is how you keep your longevity in a sport/skill, and it’s great to see someone at such a level of performance modelling those good behaviours for their fellows and audience.

Maybe unneeded advice - but as someone with long term wrist issues there are a bunch of specific wrist braces that should NOT be used without a dr advice on specific use times, because some wrist issues can be worsened by over using braces, using the wrong brace, etc etc. People tend to "fight" braces when they are using the hand and can't quite move normally, and that attempt to force more flex through the brace can cause inflammation and raise pressure in the joint. That said, the one brace type I can comfortably suggest to anyone (cool if you don't believe me, maybe ask a doc) is a sleep type brace. You are meant to wear them when not using hand at all, so that reduces that chance of joint damage. They are just really padded and come partway up the fingers to prevent one from sleeping with hand in a fist. Can be useful for anyone who over works their hands to force their hands to rest overnight. Whatever happen Lim, I hope you find a good pattern to how to manage the risks in your life without difficulty. Wrist and hand problems really suck the joy out of things until you find out what pattern of rest to activity your body can handle.

p5 at one point did try a run with the faster bomb jumps in ultra hand, coming out of ultrahand and flying to the temple, in the temple, going to recall and got a couple golds but it wasn't consistent for him so he switched back to the classic strats. that's why he says at the end of the run that some of the golds don't "count" towards his sum of best because he doesn't use the faster bomb strats in this run

There would actually be two ways to still skip the intro cutscene, and they have been brought up on Discord as a possibility. The first is to use a modification that skips that specific cutscene. That has been coded up and tested, it's the slower of the two methods in terms of real time. The second is to say "Not yet" right before encountering Ganon, then reload the GSI save file. That has also been tested and it's the faster method in terms of real time, but it wouldn't be allowed for categories that use dragons

I hurt my wrist last year and didn't take a break right away. It took like 6 months with physical therapy to improve. Best advice is even if you're on pb pace, if your hand is saying No respect it and put the controller down.
@TysonJensen10 ай бұрын
Something gamers and coders should be doing -- forearm exercises. What we're doing is physical, we should be going to the gym and getting buff -- muscles protect against strain injuries. I went from needing braces fairly constantly to never needing a brace again by taking the doctors advice. At the time I took up rock climbing. I had beastly forearms for a while there! I'm too old for that now but I still make a point of exercising those all-important arm muscles to reduce the odds of injury and to improve recovery times if I do get injured from doing 1000 too many rocket jumps.

Fun to watch someone react to this, now I wanna see another one of these down the road. And maybe keep in mind the amount of humble bragging you do for things you discovered and “blaming” others for their discoveries like ZFG instead of hyping them up; it can come off a bit bad 😅 On that note, you should totally make a “speedrunner reacts to ToTK glitches” video, since not all speedrunning tricks always end up being part of a run, or aren’t in a run yet because they are new or too difficult to make,
