When you choose to stay in that very white, insular bubble, you are inevitably going to struggle with unconscious bias. But at the end of the day, it's still a choice. You are, as always, brilliantly and eloquently aware of the power dynamics of this platform. While I don't think it should be your burden to educate white lesbians and their KZbin following on the ideas of "credit where it's due" and "maybe try figuring out if this specific trend really was started by one of the 72 generic white lesbian couple channels on youtube before you give them credit for starting it", especially not during Black history month, I think you phrased this very well and it sounds like you handled the situation in a way that was satisfying to you personally. Also, I think your awareness of your own platform and the negative impact your jokes/roasts can have on some of the people that appeared in the earlier videos is amazing, and I applaud you for making the change to "actually good".
@kenzahizaoui39442 жыл бұрын
Listen, you are not erased from everything. You are such a cherrished youtuber by a lot of subscribers, and even other youtubers! I think it's totally normal for people to feel the way you do about the 2 girls who didn't mention you, and we all understand. And about the girls in the thirst traps, it's their decision to do them, but I think it is very kind of you to apologise, since I have a friend who's been used in a video like this (not yours) and she was gravely insulted and I had to help her during a whole month to get her back on her feet, so I think it is very heartwarming. What I meant to say was thank you for everything, and don't forget all the people who love you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It was really disappointing for me to see Rose and Rosie not give you any credit especially after they made so many promises about “doing better”. I’m glad they got called out. It’s been happening forever that white lgbt channels do trend videos started by Black creators and not credit them. Like the smash or pass lesbian videos of 2017 that I’m pretty sure was started or popularized by Amberscloset /Arrows, and they never got the credit for that huge trend.I was ignorant about this issue for a long time but yeah I won’t be supporting Rose/Rosie or similar channels any longer
@natgl113 жыл бұрын
what really rubbed me the wrong way about the rose&rosie thing is that they made a whole ass video about the issues you brought up with lesbian youtube and racism. glad to see they've given you credit now, but it just makes that video seem that much more performative now 🤷 anyway, thank you for the quality thirst traps and commentary

I’ve never been subscribed to Rose & Rosie, but the deleting the comments that let them know you started that trend sounds shady. If it was a genuine accident that they credited the wrong person, then it could have been easily addressed by apologizing, letting everyone especially you know they accidentally credited the wrong creators, then given credit where credit was due. But to delete the comments... yeah, that’s shady! I’m really sorry they did that!

I stay off the white side of KZbin for a reason, especially the white LGBT side since I've outgrown all of them, but I know for a fact you were the only one who was making Lesbian Tik Tok thirst trap videos, so it's disgusting they did not give you the credit. I like (liked?) Rose and Rosie, but deleting comments saying you created the trend is extremely sus. Like I get wanting to remove spammed comments, but deleting most of them is definitely side-eye worthy...especially after their video mentioning "POC" creators. It doesn't matter what we do, our content will always be stolen and we will always be erased from the narrative. The same can be said about how that Charli girl got famous from Tik Tok. She literally stole her entire content from black girls and never gave them credit for it. It's beyond frustrating and racist at this point.
