What just pisses me off is that there's no consistent theme and everything looks like it's all over the place This is why I didn't mind generation 8 designs because they look like they actually fit the theme with European culture But with this one I barely see any of the Spanish culture, if they would have just stuck to more of that theme, rather than going all over the place or or making it weird and cringy then they would have been going somewhere. It just looks lazy or weird to me

I'm spanish... I can tell, there is no representation of spanish culture whatsoever. The little there is get so counteracted by the rest that it just fades away. You have the ham, the olive and the black bull... and after that? sushi, kamen rider, sombrero (okay, sure... spanish in language, at least better than the other kapoeira starter)... I can continue, but I think my point is clear by now

I would put them both in the same category of being a bad representation of the Iberian Peninsula, wouldn't say sombrero guy is much better. But yeah, aside from those few pokemon you mentioned and maybe a few others, the choices in pokémon are quite bizarrre and not at all representative of the Iberian culture

Maybe hot take, but this is my favorite dex since Unova. Miraidon and Koraidon are such cool legendaries, the four ruined legendaries are a cool concept excecuted very well. I like the fire starter, but the other two are just ok. Some of my favorites are Scovillain, Palafin, Garganacl, Tinkaton, Clodsire, Annihilape, Kingambit, Cetitan, Loxik, Espathra, Glimmora, Flamigo, Paldean Tauros, Ceruledge, Armorouge, Bramblegheist, and Farigiraf. The only ones I don't super care for are Wugtrio, Klauf, and the disappointing evolution to Ghimmoghoul. RIP potential pirate Pokemon.

The best thing I can think is the tie between Portugal and Japan, since they were the first western country to make contact with Japan and left a mark in their cuisine with things like Tempura. And as far as I know there is a few Sister cities between both countries as well and good relations between them. But even then... It still feels kinda out of place and a bit weird in a game based on the Iberian Peninsula

@@patrickmarques2876 Quaquaval is dancing Samba from Brasil because it's a tie to Portugal(Which is located in the Iberian Peninsula that is the basis for the map in Scarlet and Violet), since it was a Portuguese colony where it's official language is portuguese. The same reason why there is the Sombrero crocodile(Crocalor) starter that is a tie to Spain, because of colonization and the fact that they speak Spanish in Mexico. Weak link as far as I'm concerned, but hey, at least there's something to them. The Cleopatra one though, beats me, I have no idea where it comes from. Not sure if Portugal or Spain ever had ties to it 🤔

@@Verlisify it is, but the scarab represents a lot~ it’s not just a dumbettle. Scarabs represents life and resurrection in ancient Egypt. They thought the idea of self creation (dung) represented the sun god, scarabs are now seen as a destructive thing on the big screens. I get it’s still a dumbettle, but the design is pretty good and makes sense as a Scarab is a representation of the sun gods power~ which is why the dumbettle was rolling scat, and the scarab was using magic It goes from a basic bettle, too the semi embodiment of ancient Egyptian mythology

Maybe some of the designs will grow on me (happened with Sword&Shield too), but yeah, not a good first impression. I don't dig the oversimplification going on in many places. Pokemon have been become more plush-toy-like with every generation, but each time I'm turned off more. For example, I like the concept of the grasshopper, but the simple shapes and lack of textures make it look like it's made out of plastic.

There's been like 5-10 stand outs from each gen since sinnoh's diamond & pearl...Black and white was the start of the downfall. Too much blockiness, sharp edges, random weird patterns and attachments, too many artificial looking, futuristic techy machine-like pokemon. Only ones I like this gen are: Anihillape, Arboliva, Scovillain, Meowscarada, Kilowatteral is ok, snail legendary looks good & Koraidons design would be good if it didnt have the tyre/vehicle thing going on.

It has more bad than good designed Pokémon and a lot that are average. All of its starters are no goes for me, and I am upset with sprigatito. The only other complaint is the past and future Pokémon who I feel like are cool but because they made so many there seem to be so few actual new Pokémon. This Gen feels small because of the past and future forms and it has nothing that stands out too far.

A lot of them were a miss, only ones i really like are Tinkaton, Arboliva, Farigiraf, Greavard, Dachsbun and Palfin(before its hero form), I do like Flamigo but it could look a lot better. The rest of the new stuff will sadly just collect dust, because I like my Heracross, and other Pokémon, sure Gen offers a lot of new Pokémon that are good to use but they don't look good.

He a cool duck dude and I like him. Evo 2: when evolving, a Pokémon should still keep recognisable aspects of it's previous evolution. A matching colour scheme and type are not enough to connect 2 Pokémon. The 2 evos are as visually similar as Eevee is to raticate. Evo 3: I wonder who's furry OC this used to be before Pokémon stole it. Lechonk: it's too fat to live. Also I hate it's gunky eyes. Turn this piggie into bacon because that's all it's good for. Evo: I really wanted to like this... But they made the adults sexy. Why? This line needs to never return the franchise after this game. Dunsparce: apart from the stage 1 starters, best Pokémon so far. Wasted potential somewhat but it's... Okay. Filled bug Pokémon: it's literally the worst spider in the entire franchise so far. Spiops: honestly this looks okay. I hate that holding web is part of its design, but if it was just the spider minus the web with a bit of refinement I'd love this Pokémon. On and also if the first Evo looked remotely good. Also should have 8 legs. Kricket: good colour scheme and interesting compound eyes. If it looked less like a robot, had sturdier looking legs and didn't have the weird pod things on the ground I'd love it. As is, I hate it. Bug/steel type, right? Commonrider Kricket: that's not a Pokémon. It's body proportions don't make any kind of sense, it looks more like eve from wall-e than a Pokémon.
