It’s weird how you never get tired of this song, when I discovered it, I listened to it at least once a day for 2 months straight. No other song has been able to do that to me and I still love it every time I listen to it, it’s truly a masterpiece
@grekeandshaw3 жыл бұрын
It really is. I listened to it almost every morning in 2019. I don't listen to it as often anymore, but when I go back to it, it's always amazing to listen to. It really is a masterpiece. Also, thank you so much for watching. I appreciate it!

Greke and Shaw thank you for reacting to it!, not many people like to do reactions for songs as long as this one

@@chilepeulla It's probably too much work, I would think. Or just not well known enough. Most people are all about the clicks and views. That's fine, though.

The song AND this video is heavily underrated and unappreciated. I love this song, the atmosphere is set up so good and so "sci-fi". I especially love the middle part where they went back to the intro but delivered in a different way. So melodic and so emotional at the same time. Truly a masterpiece.
@grekeandshaw3 жыл бұрын
Yes! You definitely nailed what I love so much about it. There is so much melody and emotion behind the lyrics and the music. To create a song that lasts 30 minutes and every moment of it is not boring or something doesn't fit is just absolutely incredible. Thanks for checking out the video!

I remember when i first discovered long songs i was so into pink Floyd and their music and ever since than i have fallen so much for progressive rock and metal long epics,after getting so much from PF,i jumped to Dream Theater, genesis,Rush and symphony X,Nightwish and their absolutely amazing mega epic pieces but even after delving so deeply into this genre for 3 years i found this hidden gem only a few weeks ago😢 This in itself proves how highly highly underrated of a song it is,ever since i discovered this song and listened to it on my very first time,i immediately shared it with my friends but so bad is the attention span of the modern generation,they cant even try a song over 4-5 min long Anyways when i researched about this song and got to know that it is based on a noble prize winning author's science fiction novel i got even more excited and ever since than i dont miss a single day listening to this once in a generation masterpiece!! Im so glad it's been recently back on Spotify and yes Tommy's voice is so angelic!!

That is such a beautiful story! I was the same way. I got into longer songs through Dream Theater and Iron Maiden. I found Seventh Wonder by finding out Tommy was replacing Roy Khan in Kamelot, and he just blew me away. I looked into Seventh Wonder more and more and found this masterpiece of a song. It is honestly the best song I have EVER heard. Incredibly technical and beautifully composed to perfectly capture the tragedy of the people on the Aniara. I am truly humbled that you decided to check out my video. Thank you!

I had the same experience with this song myself, i've heard it so many damn times. It's like a curated collection of songs beautifully weaved together. A lot like another song I love to dust off every now and then and have listened to hundreds of times, The Odyssey by Symphony X (highly recommended!).

A masterpiece song and overlooked band. The story in the song is taken from the book/poem "Aniara" by Harry Martinson. There was also an Aniara movie made in 2018 I think. Great stuff. * Watches intro to video *. Yeah, what Greke and Shaw said. I discovered this song a year ago, when someone mentioned SW in a prog metal thread. I first listened to The Great Escape album, and wasn't very impressed with the first half, though some melodies did stick. Then came the second half which is this song! I now love the album and the previous Mercy Falls.

They are certainly very overlooked. They really deserve more recognition. I decided to check them out when I heard Tommy was replacing Roy in Kamelot. They are my favorite band, so I wanted to see how he was... and by God, they chose the best person to replace him. Thanks for watching the video, by the way. This was something I wanted to do for awhile.

I'm not sure how I missed this video. I agree with you though, and you did an awesome job of explaining it! There are so many great parts in the song but I think my favorite was XI(11), her voice game me chills man! Thank you for sharing this!

Thanks for checking it out! I am glad you enjoyed it. Part XI is still my favorite as well. Her voice combined with Tommy's gives me absolute chills. I always have goosebumps when I listen to that part. It surprises me so much that every single part of this song is just an amazing experience and is addicting to the listen to. I forgot to mention in the video that I have met Tommy at Kamelot concerts and he is such an amazing person. He recently moved to Calgary to live with his wife there. I hope to see him perform again someday.

didnt know there was a video like this out there, I would love to do a lyrical breakdown of my own one day, but you did a superb job! Also, listening to the song today, and sorry for being a downer: but it hits even harded in the current global climate (ww3 on the horizon). The line "from man a king with ashen crown", I can help but see a certain global leader, crowned in the ash of nuclear destruction....
@grekeandshaw2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you there. A lot of what is happening right now in the world is really portrayed in the lyrics. Their world was destroyed by nuclear war and it's just tragic. I hope that our world does not come to it. Thank you for checking out the video. I would love to see a lyrical breakdown so if you ever decide to do it, please send me a link and I will definitely check it out!

@@grekeandshaw Oh was it actually destroyed by nuclear annihilation? I actually didn't know that, I thought it was global warming, but I never looked into it. What's even crazier is I'm about to turn 24, can't help but feel get a shiver up my back thinking about it. But let's stay optimistic friend
@grekeandshaw2 жыл бұрын
@@SeptimusTSS I believe that in the original story of Aniara, Earth was destroyed by nuclear war. At least, that's what I researched had happened to it. In their follow up album, Tiara, the Aniara is actually referenced so I don't know if Tommy tried to connect the story of Tiara with Aniara. If you don't know of the story of Tiara, there is a race of (I think) machines called the Everones that come to Earth to see if it is worth saving or destroying based on the words of a young girl named Tiara. She can't think of any reason to save humanity so the Everones destroy Earth in an all out war. I am really paraphrasing it here as there is much more to it, but I suggest you check it out if you liked this song.
