Adam - she was chatting to the audience throughout the concert -so relaxed and happy - just amazing. I was one of those wearing a t shirt with her face on, to whom she looked at here. Spoke to her Mum before the concert started and she was surprised that so many people had travelled from so many different countries. AJ also thanked us for coming so far to see her. In the sound check before the show she had her hair down - was dressed in jeans and leather jacket, looking quite a bit different from when on stage. think it took a while to do the hair - she was half an hour late from starting the show.

That was not a warm-up, she started the show with Mt Everest from the highest place on Earth and spread Love for all. You could see how happy everyone gone through the whole show, she never fails 💕 She looks very beautiful with her long outfit and her hairstyle 💞

That is the jazz tradition. In an evening of jazz, all of the voices get a moment to shine, if not more than one. AJ brings that era forward, not so much that we go back. And some of the music is older than her oldest fans. And what does this jazz and blues music most embody? SOUL. Soul in a way that is timeless and classic, therefore able to move forward if only there is a vessel for carrying it. I've been listening to some current trends that seem to impress people, that seem to be the big money place. Some of it will die the fad death. And many of the artists, let alone the listeners, are ignorant of the music history that led up to their own genres---history tied to social and political events important to struggles in survival and dignity. History that some powers would prefer us to not know. 💜

Thank you Adam, it is always interesting and nice to listen to your reactions! The concert seems to have been so amazing: I can't wait to see her live myself and also I hope to that her album will be released soonish :-) It's very nice to see her having so much fun on stage and loving every minute of it! She is a threefold timeshifter. She takes us out of time and makes us forget everything for a little while. Here she uses the second time shifting capability: she takes us back in time and has us listen to music of 50+ years. The third ability is to take music of that era and re-arranges and brings it into modern times.

I think she looks so elegant for all of her performances. The beehive complements her musical style and she looks beautiful with it. We all have our likes and dislikes. Angelina is an all around professional. Every aspect of her performances are tasteful and show her love and respect for her audience, band, the artists she covers and her family. The world could use more public figures with her genuine class. Im don’t remember exactly where this fell it the order of the 18 songs she sang that night. I do know she sang all 18 with no intermission. She did interact often with the audience during and between the songs. She ended with I have nothing and did it beautifully. I really your reactions to Angelina. I special thanks this special way to relive that concerts.

WOW!!! To sing 17 songs with no intermission, then singing a powerhouse song like "I Have Nothing" as your final song is nothing short of superhuman or miraculous! Even Elvis Presley took short breaks during his live performances. Hope she comes to the Southern part of the USA sometime in the future!

Thank you Adam. I was there and it was a concert full of love. Angelina interact with the audiense the whole concert in this sweet and charming way. Her last live concert was when she was 13 and she didn't say much, so at 16 she had matured so much in general and as a performer. Loved it.

One of her stated goals has been to bring back the oldies to a new audience, and she is doing a great job. Also nice for us elderly to have an artist like this. We can again rediscover music. Many had lost their interest due to all the stuff the mainstream music industry is pooring out.., but now we have this young beautiful amazing artist, and can also take a sidestep to listen to more modern stuff. Can only agree, the mainstream was boring. So i was looking through some Talent shows for new Artists and found this magical 7y old girl at NGT, who blows the judges away and shocked the audience. Such a sweet child, but when she started singing she switched to a mature perfect artist. And the wow moments never stops with every Song until today. And with 16y she just started 🙏👍👌❤️

Wonderful reaction Adam. Such a great thing to see Angelina enjoying herself and doing what she loves to do. She has performed with this band over past few years and they are a wonderful jazz band and she knows them all, though the drummer is new. What do I think of the beehive? I was a hair stylist back in the days of the beehive! Yep, I'm OLD! I actually loved the style (the look), and thou most seemed to think "a beehive is a beehive" (all looked alike), but in actuality there seemed to be an endless number of things one could do to make each one a little different! That said, I hated doing them because they took sooooo much time if you did it correctly. As for Angelina, I personally think it looks good on her. And it fits with her "OLD SOUL" and the music she does from that period, so why not!!!! I think that may have been the reason Amy often wore her hair in that style also! I think I am correct in that Angelina did her fantastic cover (totally new take) of Suspicious Minds just before she left for Norway. It was the first time I remember ever seeing this style on her; and she did it for that song because of the style being from the period of the song, and the fact that Priscilla Presley was famous for wearing that style. Maybe she liked it so much that she decided to keep the style thru her concerts in Norway!

Hi - I remember my sister had a beehive in the 60's - yes I'm an old git! Got to chat to Angelina's hair stylist after the concert - think it took her a long time to do - she also waved her long hair as well. AJ's Mum looked the same as when she was at Norway's got talent 8 years ago - same hair style and doesn't look a year older.

Hi! Last night, I was watching a KZbin fan-made video of Elvis singing "Always on My Mind" with clips of him and Priscilla during their years together. And the thought suddenly struck me, both with her hair in the beehive and down, just how much Angelina looks like Priscilla in her younger days, both facially and with all the hair. The thought just stunned me for a moment! She also has facial similarities to Elvis himself, especially when she smiles and laughs (even the slightly curled lip at times)! I'm sure it can't just be me who has noticed the similarities. Any personal thoughts on that? Have a great day!

Actually there are many video of Angelina as a child with her hair styled up like a beehive and most notably during her concerts at the Oslo fortress (It's Magic album promotion) and Kongsberg music theater in the summer of 2018 when she was 12 and 1/2 years old. @@delmamekenya5286 As a former hair stylist I would call the hair styles when she was younger more of a "Bunn" than a "beehive". Buns are normally with the hair kind of folded and turned in and out on itself or in a circle, and then pinned in place, which is what she had at the concerts you referred to. A beehive is accomplished by "teasing" the hair with a comb (and sometimes with a brush) which is what Priscilla had and what Angelina had recently for the SM video and in the concerts in Norway.

@@johnbattles1002 I agree with you, especially concerning the facial similarities between Angelina and Elvis. I met Elvis when he was 19 (I was 13), and even then one of the first things I noticed was the way he curled up the side of his lip! I first noticed Angelina doing it the first time I saw her video of "I put a spell on you", and have noticed it several time on other videos over the years. In several of her more recent photos her facial features have reminded me even more of a young Elvis. In both cases, the lip curl may be something they do to get a certain sound; but Elvis did it even when talking.

Hi GEB - I have to confess that very first wave from Angelina was to me in response to a wave from me stood immediately behind Sara and Egil's son ( in fact I had just made space to allow Sara to move in front of me so the young boy could get a clearer view ). I'm only saying this, not to make myself out as anyone special, but because she was brilliant at interacting with the crowd at all the concerts. Spotting people she knew, smiling, waving back at them without every losing a beat or note. Truly amazing. And it does make one actually feel special in a way and connected to our favourite artiste. :-) But then she was doing that since she was 8. Evening in the final of Norske Talenter when singing Summertime mid way through you can see her look slight left ( stage left ) and give a little smile to someone in the audience. ( I'm suspecting Uncle Michael ) Incredible composure and shows her absolute comfort whilst singing as if she doesn't even have to think about the song or words. All her concerts this summer were truly amazing and I can't wait for when she does more. 💕💕

Agree. The thing is, I think, younger people has Amy as the only reference for «jazz», and that’s why her name pops up all the time. They certainly have the same artists as inspiration, but Angelina is at another level vocally and even when she sings songs very far from jazz, you can hear her solid foundation in that genre. That, and her extreme sence for empathy - It’s Magic!

Great comments. Angelina was certainly awesome here and the 18 songs in this performance were originally performed in 8 of the last 9 decades! Who does that?! Few, if any, other artists could so confidently cover such a range of music history. And the last piece was an easy number called "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston. Who saves that one for last ?! Angelina was extremely comfortable, the band was terrific, and the results were astonishing! I remember two of my sisters and some ladies from the church I attended wearing the "beehives" back in the 1960's! Not only did Amy Winehouse wear it, but Priscilla Presley was famous for it as well. In Angelina's "Suspicious Minds," I believe she was paying homage to Priscilla, not Amy, as she was paying homage to Elvis with the black leather outfit that he sported in his 1968 Comeback Special on TV. By the way, if you haven't done so, you should react to some of Elvis's performances from that special! They're incredible!

Hey Adam, Great reaction as always from you. Thank you. I was at this concert. ( as well as the other 2 and Allsang Pa Grensen so I feel very privileged as I know 1000's more AJ fans would have loved to have been there) In fact I am most of Mattius's video's as he was stood right behind me. ( I have apologized to him for getting my balding head and hands [making my own videos] in most of his videos. 😢) I can see all the concerts where outstanding but this final one had something magical and even more special. I don't think I have ever witnessed a better liver performer, ever. I think your questions have probably been answered in the comments already but just in case, 1. This was the 6th song in this concert so not a warm up. In fact as I think you know, she started with real bang with Mount Everest and that warmed everyone up. 2. She interacted with crowd so much throughout with many thanks to everyone who had come to see her perform. She really makes you feel you are special and not just one of many thousands of fans. 3. You mentioned the guitar instrumental solo. Have you noticed, Angelina is so so respectful of her band and on every instrumental section, not does she only step away from the microphone, but she turns towards which band member it is, she acknowledges their talent and gives it her approval. There is a keyboard instrumental in one of the other songs and you will see she does exactly the same. So professional and respectful. I love the beehive to be honest. - But then she can do anything she likes with her hair as far as I am concerned. It certainly isn't done to make up for any lack of height 😃 as I believe someone mentioned was possibly Amy's reasoning. Look forward to your next AJ reaction Adam. Keep em coming. ❤

Your reactions are just spot on for the artist that you react to. There are some songs that I believe might interest you with Angelina Jordan such as Whitney Houston I have nothing. I think you’ll really enjoy it. Also, you did go all the way through from early years to almost present. however, I think you missed one. The one I’m referring to is what I believe was her very first song done in a recording studio when she was six years old. The song was high who have nothing. Remember, she’s only six years old and she recorded this song in a recording studio. It definitely makes you think what’s in store for this young girl. I would appreciate it if you did review that so we can see what your comments would be

But I don’t think Angelina is trying to impersonate her, especially not her lifestyle and what Amy went through in her life. Both artists are/were great at what they do/did and can be appreciated for their own merits in my opinion without need to be placed in competition

@@AdamStraughan of course, no reason for a competition, each on their own are true artists. maybe the similarities are a kind of dedication, because if you are into blues music you simply have to admire amy for her talent. have you seen the bbc-documentary about amy? you sure did. wrong lover, drugs, alcohol. what a waste of talent. and yes, angelina will hopefully not follow her in her lifestyle. is she 16 now? or 17? i think the future will bring some good records by her instead a death at the age of 27
