This is a pretty well known Jazz song by Larry Shay, Mark Fisher and Joe Goodwin in 1928. It was made famous by Louie Armstong the Jazz great and one of Angelina big influence. ❤❤❤❤👣

The opening scene reminds me of an interview I saw with her when I think she was around 8 yrs old maybe. The interviewer was asking about her traveling around the world and Angelina said something like "You learn much more traveling and meeting people than you do in school". The interviewer was taken aback a bit and said something like "But school is still important, right?". Angelina of course agreed. But just shows, even at an early age, how she viewed the world. And of course this is reflected in her own song "What is Life".

Gentlemen, this was indeed her real "normal" school in Oslo including the teachers and classmates. The musicians you saw, were from her Academy of music and perfoming arts in Oslo. The only "actor" was her uncle Michael, standing with papers in his hands. The "sad" girl, was her best friend. Gents, be safe, keep as cool as you can. Elmar from Germany.

Yeah it's a great cheerful song and video. I'm guessing she is 10 here, but not sure. She can manipulate time in several ways: she can dust of old songs and make them new, she can make us listen to songs like they were sung in the past, she makes us forget about time and makes us believe she is a bunch older than she really is. “Old School” indeed! This song was originally performed in 1928 (!😲!) and was performed by the likes of Billy Holiday and Louis Armstrong, among MANY others. Louis’ version featured him on the trumpet (natch’ , “Satch”* 😬) and Frank Sinatra did a very famous cover in the 40’s (I think). This video was produced and directed by Angelina’s grandmother Mery Zamani. She is considerably more than just an inspiration to Angelina. Angelina has referred to her as “…my best friend”, my “everything”. I’ll let others fill you in on who participated in this wonderful, uplifting music video. "When You're Smiling" is a popular song written by Larry Shay, Mark Fisher and Joe Goodwin. First published in 1928, it bears resemblance to the Spanish Canción "Amapola" by José María Lacalle García. Early popular recordings were by Seger Ellis (1928), Louis Armstrong (1929), and Ted Wallace & His Campus Boys (1930).

Nice reaction guys! Philly, you're right in that it is a cover, however, the age of the song is even further back! "When You're Smiling" is a popular song written by Larry Shay, Mark Fisher and Joe Goodwin. First published in 1928,. I believe her cover version is based off of the Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong's versions (both musical influences she has mentioned a number of times in interviews and articles). This is more of the type of jazz that was popular back in those days. As for your next song to listen to by her, I would like to recommend All I Ask or Easy On Me, both by Adele. Many fans have said she took these well known songs to another level!

Hi TnP 👋. Wonderful reaction to 9 Angelina. This was originally filmed in June of 2015 when she was 9.5 years old and released a year later when she was 10. Yes those are her classmates and everyone gets most of the other things right and good info below. This was originally by Louis Armstrong and his orchestra back in 1956. As you said she is timeless. You can drop her into any era and she'd fit right in. She’s very unique in that way also. She a phenom. Here's another great from her when she was 9 when filmed and directed by her grandma Mery. It's called "Fly me to the moon Acoustic". This is one her versions of the songs that caught the attention of Quincy Jones. God bless you 2. 🙏❤🙂👍

Actually Louis Armstrong recorded the song in 1929. The song has been recorded by many artists. It was even featured in an episode of the Flintstones.
