Thanks for this long and detailed reaction! It's always so nice to see their work appreciated by the people who actually know what it takes to DO the thing they're doing. At 11:48 you talk about Moonbin (at center), and whether he was "supposed to chill on that" and yes, he was. In most instances of this section of the dance, the center at the time mimics the motion but skips the jump that occurs during their singing portion so as not to make the vocal jump in the performance. I enjoy seeing people appreciate the little subtleties they build into these choreographies. A good portion of the musicality and the details seem to come from their super amazing dancer, Rocky (all black with the black sneakers). His ability to translate sound to motion is one of the most advanced I think I've ever seen; he'll often move to things I didn't hear in a song UNTIL he moves to it. If you haven't checked him out yet, his YYY Choreography series here on KZbin is awesome. He also has the most impressive hip and foot turn-out. I think ballet dancers are probably jealous. The shapes he presents are always strong, his turns are im-freaking-peccable and FAST, and he can make things look effortless, as so many great dancers do, but even when he's freestyling, it looks like he practiced for hours (many freestyles compiled nicely here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5bVeWh8bcuJjaM). In the performance version, they've toned down/changed some of the arm movements, including the overhead ripple at 20:10. Regarding the smiles during a performance, it doesn't hurt that they're all stunningly beautiful men to begin with, and when they smile and you can't help but love the performance that much more. They've matured so much since here (May 2017ish) and their choreography and performance aspects have improved as well. Thank you so much again for the in-depth look at their entire process! Cheers!

This is one of my favorite choreos because its just so smooth and chill unlike the usual boy groups rn where they're mostly dancing hard, fast paced and huge movemnts

well, to be fair this choreo is also fast paced and has huge movements but they did it very effortless and that make it seem chill and light. but i totally agree with you! this choreo is really a breath of fresh air.

Trivia: Jinjin (Rapper) was ranked #1 in house dance in his year during highschool. He almost chose to become a dancer instead, but he chose his original dream to become an idol. :) If you check out When the Wind Blows live performance (group fancam) you could see how amazing his footwork is, Jinjin and Rocky made the choreography for WTWB. the thing about astro is that they are so smooth, clean and light on their feet that it gives u the illusion that the dance is simple and easy, but its SO NOT. thats how good they are.
