Music transgress all boundaries. At 58 i really enjoy watching younger people discover the music that i grew up with. God bless you young lady.

The minor and major chord changes on the piano after Barry sings "this world has lost its glory" and that "hook" is fabulous and timeless and really sets the stage for this wonderful timeless masterpiece.

Yes, aren't they just fantastic! {If you want you can hug me Stella in their stead, I won't complain;) Ha!} ..If i remember the family story right, as a lad my uncle used to go fishing Nudgee Beach mud flats at low tide for whiting with the Gibb brothers, when they still lived at Nudgee, before they're family moved to Redcliffe. My uncle had to wade out for 'miles' with them across the mud flats {Never mind the rays and sharks!} ..And another, my Nannie, my Mum's mum, asked them for their autograph very early in the piece, at a local gig, when they were still really young, saying they'd be famous one day(!). {Ha, my Nannie was right!} My Mum's family lived at Banyo, next to Nudgee, at the time both very small places. Hearing people talk, I get the feeling Nudgee seemed especially so. For real, nice fellas. {Surprisingly, just the other month I saw Barry say in a doco-interview on the tele, that even today he still regards Australia as his home(!). I thought that was a nice thing for him to say}. Thankyou Stella :)

Omg it’s you Stella. The last I watched you was your divorce story. I was a 15 year old sophomore in high school …..and in love with this tiny, but very cute little freshman…….when this song came out. I was sooo in love with her. And I remember pretending to sing this song to her. Of course, you’ve demonstrated in your reaction how this song taps into a woman’s “romantic”achilles heel”……that is her ears. …..what she hears. And you know that men will tell you ANYTHING. lol. Nonetheless, the “words” and the music of this song are moving . And I love love you’re reaction. (And Omg you’re actually more beautiful this time than last time . Wow), 🥰😍🥰🥰😍🥰

Go search for a version of this song from 1978. Barry does not have a beard and is very young. The song is longer and they have two other members of the band at that time, a drummer and another guitarist. Check it out. Barry sings it a little differently and it is beautiful.
