Just watch some pictures of them when they were kids (i'm not talking about that baby filter!), no double eyelid so they got a double eyelid incision (but as i said for korean it's like going to the hairdresser) About the botox just look at them, when they smile, laugh.. their forehead don't move at all, maybe it's normal for asians, let me know in comments, and in this case i'm jealous because that explain why they have no wrinkle at 40 years old !!

Noctis Lucis Caelum I’m an asian and I think their eye lids weren’t affected by plastic surgery. This is coming from an asian that has monolid as a child and as an adult I have double eyelids and my mom is the same way. It just slowly came out as I grew up, so it could be that their eyes were the same way. Also I feel like other Asians can relate to this but like if u don’t have prominent eyelids such as other races, a lot of time the pictures you take don’t show ur eyelids unless u take it a certain way. And looking at rose’s or Jennie’s eyelids , they’re not big enough that it would be altered by plastic surgery. Cuz u can tell both of them just have a small double eyelid which I’m also the same way. And I don’t think that if they were to alter it they would choose that size even if it was to look natural. Also Botox isn’t really a thing in korea as much as it is in the US, I think it’s just the way they r smiling? Cuz Asians don’t really smile as widely as let’s say Caucasians, like it’s more normal for the smile to be tighter and with a closed mouth rather than open. Cuz Asians have that ideal to be more ladylike so slight smile kinda fits the ideal of u get what I mean??

yg does not forbid their artists to use plastic surgery, they just dont force them. Or maybe they've changed in the past years, I'm not sure about that. But eg Park Bom (love her to death and i'm glad she escaped yg) clearly had surgery, however, there really is no shame in getting something done, if the artist themselves want it! Also, in my opinion, YG is an awful company, like you said, we are still waiting for a full length album by blackpink, and their former CEO is one of the most awful people in the industry, he was involved in drug and sex scandals (or tried covering them up), he is extremely rude to trainees and artists, he is sexist and did other awful things like publically calling 2NE1 ugly (and treated them badly in general). about them looking alike, yes a lot of idols do get plastic surgery but also, a lot of people can't distinguish members of groups when they first get into kpop but after a while, korean idols don't look alike at all and you can clearly distinguish them ;) I'm not sure how this is explained scientifically but it's definitely a thing :) also about kpop having a lot edm songs, it's been a trend for a while but that's not what every kpop song sounds like, there are balads, more rock influenced stuff too :)

@@CamiPetyn yeah, I think it's about getting to know something you're not usually exposed too :) personally, before I got into kpop I didn't see a lot of Asian faces on a daily basis both irl or in the media I consumed so of course when I first saw kpop idols ,I would confuse one for another , just because when you're not used to seeing something, you'll see the similarities between things rather than the differences that will distinguish them :) well there is a group called Dreamcatcher and there are known for their rock influenced songs so maybe you should check them out :) I can't tell you much more because I'm basic and I like pop and rn'b mostly but I'm sure if you ask in the comments, a lot of kpop fan would love to suggest rock influenced songs/groups :)

It’s what happens when a person is not used to seeing or being around a certain race There is a term for it but I don’t remember. For example I’m black but I’ve made friends with people before who’ve never really seen black people all that often aside from one occasional TV show so to them when they see a group of black girls who all have similar traits like skin tone and the color of their hair they will appear the same until they get used to being around more black people It’s the same scenario with a group of white blonde girls or Asians who have slanted eyes and straight black hair. to a person not used to being around many asian people it will look like they are the same until you get used to seeing the difference in their features

@Cami Petyn I highly recommend Dreamcatcher, they are a 7 member girl group who’s main genre is rock/metal rock, also their concept is very mysterious which makes them SO unique in kpop. They also have some edm, reggae, alternative, pop songs and so yeah they basically have a little of every genre in their music :))

They don’t look similar to me... for your case, and many others that can’t differentiate them at first, when you will know them well enough, it will be easy to recognize them. Even the first time seeing them you can see they have different individual and beautiful features from each other 😊

I had trouble to differentiate them at first (not Lisa), but once you see them more often, you recognize the details in the faces (Rosé has a longer face, Jennie has a really small face). (It was hard to learn, because they always change hair colors in the MVs).It's because you don't see Asian faces in western countries that much. Depends on the city you live in. In my city with about 42,000 inhabitants I don't see many Asian looking people. I'm sure Asian people will also say that western people all look the same if they don't see western people that often.

Celestar i would like to add that this whole “they look the same” happens in general w ppl from different races. just like caucasians will say “all asians look the same”, asians also will have trouble differentiating between ppl of another race. i don’t think a lot of people know this, and while i agree that it sounds racist, it’s actually a thing between ppl of different races and it can go both ways (:
