Haters will be haters, even and especially when they pretend like they're fans. Blackpink attracts almost as many haters as they do new fans every comeback, so that's why it seems like reactions were "mixed". In reality if you discount the haters, and come at the new album with even a neutral opinion and give it a chance, the reaction to Born Pink is overwhelmingly positive. You can tell just by the lyrics of the first two songs on the album, "Pink Venom" and "Shut Down", Blackpink was ready for the inevitable hate they'd receive and clapped back at those haters before the first song even dropped.

YES! I love how the lyrics were a perfect (preemptive) clap back at the haters. looking back now, everything really came together (both the good and bad) to make this such an iconic comeback.

Yep exactly! haters really are an indicator of success. I still hate seeing all the nastiness but, in the end, it just means BP is achieving even more greatness. and I'm with you, Shut Down is a masterpiece and I'm not sure if anything will ever top it for me haha

I had no doubts when this popped up that you'd love it. Imagine turning Paganini la campenella into a kpop song, teddy was on it. The only thing is I go back and forth between which is better and my conclusion...whichever one I'm listening to. I mean jisoo and rose rapping on shut down, that alone makes the comeback worthy. Ok so you need that green fur coat and Lori needs that red hat...slayyyy. Just an unexpected and amazing reaction. You were a bit extra but it's blackpink, we were all there 😂🫶
