Idk why but to me it felt kinda pointless? I mean Inertia is gonna spam inward regardless if you provoke him or not, sooo idk. I agree that the round was almost flawless and so fucking good, but at the same time I feel like inertia could just say the same thing back at bookie with his inward. Am I missing something?

6:11 It is because you beatbox yourself, for people who dont beatbox (aka almost all other beatbox reaction channels) they get more hyped by styles like Inertia's - I think what makes you so special is that you apply to both audiences, beatboxers and non-beatboxers ♥ I also think Bookie's first round is outstandingly, insanely, good.
@ecciq2 ай бұрын
casual beatboxer watchers like inertias style because its simple, much more like a beat from a real song. They don’t understand what sounds and patterns are hard to do, bookies rounds will just sound like abunch of random noises.
@lukenukem20032 ай бұрын
yeah, i think the best example of this is just getting to know someone who plays bass guitar, they will notice and point out things nearly everyone elses brain and ears just wont register because 1: theyre specifically looking and listening for it, 2: they know first hand how much skill or creativity it takes, and 3: they know how much it provides to the overall sound or vibe of a song or a section . same thing goes drummers and vocalists and damn near every profession u can think of even outside of music

The more I think about the "No Bass" that's a cheat code too. I feel like it's automatic hype for Inertia with the bass but for Bookie it's the hype around technicality without bass. You have such a technical ear, you can recognize how crazy his technique is while we mere mortals can't. Meanwhile your performance energy and your intricacies are more crowd-pleasing perhaps? I'm not a beatboxer but to make an analogy I used to mess around with poi spinning and people are way more impressed by a very basic move done quickly than they are by very technical stuff. That stuff mostly impressed other people who at least knew a fair bit about the things you were doing. So the audience is a big amalgam of enthusiasts of various levels, and the entry level folk dig your energy man, that's my best guess.

things that excite you are comming from the skill and control aspects of the performance but the audience who arent all aware of how much skill / talent is needed for certain sounds are just looking at how it sounds weather it is pleasing to their ear or not. not how much it takes to master the thing. and in that opinions vary and none of technically wrong

When you are judging beatbox battles, how do you balance technical ability vs the ability to craft a song/set? Sometimes beatboxes who are very skilled technique wise don't sound enjoyable to listen to. Other times, a set I really vibe to is much too simple to win a battle. It feels like you have to smash the two together when in other judged sports, like gymnastics or ice skating, technical skill and aesthetics are judged separately.

Something that bothers me about these stylistic battles is that it seems like the more techy artist always tries and make it a point to call out that a bass heavy artist can't replicate they're rounds but it seems they can't realize how hard it is to have a limited toolkit and having to always drop a heavy bass pattern to make the crowd go crazy. The point I'm trying to make is that Bookie says counter that and no bass but he can't drop two rounds with all bass and make the crowd go crazy.
