☝🏽For all my low porosity hair girls: the wash now style later trick may not work. Our hair typically cooperates better when products are applied immediately to warm soaking wet hair. 😝

how can you tell if you have low porosity hair?
@brooklyncurry1660
@brooklyncurry1660 2 жыл бұрын
@@summermastuda8473 you could do the water test by putting a piece in and seeing if it’s still floating at the top but another way to tell is when you spray water on your head you can see the water droplets sitting on top or if you just started washing your hair and it’s still dry and you gotta work the water into it for it to be saturated that’s all low porosity

@@summermastuda8473 for me I can tell bc my products sometimes sit on top of the hair rather than absorbing in. I have split dyed hair so one side is low porosity and the other is high, the high side absorbs products so much easier

Yes-this is true. However I find a specific approach to listing your section and applying serum, and either your cream:gel works good on low porosity hair-and it takes less time to style and dry. I hope you try it someday.. after I did it saved me a ton Of time. I just didn’t know my hair could do that…

Eh, the thing with cutting your hair when it’s wet is that it works if you have a pretty uniform texture, but if you (like me) have lots of different textures on your head it won’t turn out well at all. Personally I’m team dry cut, but I’m not team “hedge cut”, when stylists just pick random hairs and trim them. I just got a cut yesterday and my stylist did a great job!

8:33 - 9:30 I can relate because I'm still trying to get into curl care and finding out what's best for me hair. I have always known I had curly hair, when I was younger(2-3) I did nothing to it and it made these spiraly type of curls. But it was a tiny bit frizzy. Then growing up I always knew I had curly hair but I brushed it and u could still see small curls but it was so frizzy. Me and my family knew nothing about curls. I'm still trying to find what's best for me hair. I've asked people what products they use, but after that I've known that products are different for everybody. I know my curls can be more defined and volumized I just need to find what's best for my hair. My curls are better than they were before though. I may have went a little overboard anyways thanks for reading all of that....

I’ve always worn my hair with my natural curls, but I had no clue how to take care of them. My mom has straight hair and found a random gel to use in my hair. I had used that same Garnier product until the start of the pandemic, when I discovered the Curly method and how to properly take care of my hair. My curls and I have never been happier

Lol yes. I'm still doing Olive Oil cooking oil. After I dropped $100s at Ulta one day, I was like, I need to stop and go to hair rehab because I am doing the utmost. So I've returned back to childhood basics and so far, so good. It's amazing to live decades of your life and never know your natural hair texture! I remember looking up how to "get curls" when I was tired of getting perms and hated my straight hair. I went through so many videos of training your hair, and finger curling, and just couldn't figure out how to get the curls started so I could do the techniques that would keep my hair curly - it's almost embarrassing that as a black girl, I had no idea that curls grew out of my head and I didn't have to "do" anything to get them.

I actually also used to hate my curly hair. So, I always straightened it in grad 4 and 5. I damaged my hair in grade 4 but kept on going. Now I'm 13 and love hair now I'm confident enough to wear my curly hair in school. What I didn't have in grades 4 and 5 was hair products so that's probably why I thought my hair was a mess.

I was never to interested in my hair but id try to brush it straight as a young kid because I’d don’t know how to take care of it and it looked frizzy and puffy (like super because I’d brush it when it was dry too) because all I saw was straight hair. Finally as I went into 5th grade I stopped brushing it when it was dry, still felt super insecure though and it was till frizzy and I was constantly told I should straighten my hair but I was to lazy to. Now I’m 13 as well and I take care of my hair with products and I LOVE my curly hair

I wanted to chime in on the gel/raking method on tighter coils.. It's more so necessary because the curls are FAR more able to shrink.. It doesn't hinder much volume at all, because shrinkage is a STRONG contender in the ring.. 😅 It just makes it that as my hair drys, I have less shrinkage.. So instead of shrinking 80%, it shrinks like 50%.. 😂 And that volume comes in say day 2-3.. That's the only method that works for my tighter type 4 curls/coils.. All the other methods, such as using the brush and tension or those finger curls, only causes my hair to shrink even more.. But absolutely right, it's all about preference.. And adding that most who use oils and such on their hair, it just takes longer for the water to penetrate the hair in order to get it to revert.. Factors like it has been a long time since she last washed, or she'd been using silicone heat protectants and oils while her hair was straightened would all cause the hair to take a long time to receive moisture and be able to revert.. Alot of folks think they have damaged hair when really it's just buildup mixed with dehydration.. Which is a version of damage, but not exactly the irreversible kind..

Another thing is my hair reaches my chest when it's dry but I want it to reach under my chest when it's dry, i.e. that is to say that it grows 10 cm. How can I reach my goal. How can my hair grow as big as yours ?

The girl who's hair wouldn't curls back is literally how I am rn, I had like 3c or 4a-ish as a kid (I'm white white, so already rarer for tight ahh curls anyway) to the point where my ma's best friend, a tall ass African lady with afro hair, gave her an afro comb to use on me. When I turned 11 she started straightening my hair EVERYDAY until I was 16. 2 years later, I still can't figure out how to get my old curls back. Closest I can get now is like a 2b or 2c (sorry if I get the terms wrong at all by the way, I'm doing my best to research them, and from what I can see in most pictures I gave an accurate description)

For the past 4 or 5 years I have been braiding my hair right after showers or blow drying it. It is very thick and frizzy. Just recently I started to notice that my hair was begging to go natural again. I am trying but my curls are just not very health. (I also forgot to mention I bleached part of my hair like 1 year ago) the parts that are health are curling pretty well. What kind of products do you recommend or even just diffrent routines????
