vegeta choosing the renegade option will never not get a chuckle out of me and i have never even played mass effect. also interesting fact: the editor of team four star commented that he actually did do intensive research for the seizure procedure, to find a combination of colours and frequency of flashes that is specifically known to NOT actually cause seizures to ensure they don't actually cause any real life harm to someone.

Roshi does it to Man-Wolf, so it could be some obscure Turtle School thing? Goku sorta does it to Trunks when they first meet, but not in nearly as much detail

No he talks telepathically to Krillin and Gohan in the Saiyan Saga, he intercepts a trans dimensional telepathic communication between King Kai and Kami, and as mentioned he does the same thing to Trunks. Goku has psychic abilities, he just doesn’t treat it as special so most ppl miss them

Goku also talks to trunks with his mind to tell at him to hurry and not just float there when Goku was going to stall Buu, but then you could say he was just using what babidi was probably still doing to the world

I am lol. I really loved it when I watched it for the first time(actually with Blind wave). On the second time(with duckgoesmoo), I noticed and appreciated more details that I had missed the first time, the third time was also good(with animelon and other random youtubers), the fourth time(with the one couple who listen to metal music and also definitely not definitive) made me start hating the show and wondering why I even liked it in the first place.

That little joke with Goku confusing Burter with Butter for his Grand Slam is actually a reference to the Ginyu Force's name origins. Ginyu comes from the Japanese word for Dairy so the rest of the members are named after Dairy Products, Guldo is Yogurt, Jeice is Cheese, Burter is Butter, and Recoome is Cream

About Goku mishearing Burter's name as Butter, that's because all of the Ginyu Force is named after dairy products. Recoome in Japanese is an anagram for Cream Burter is Butter Jeice is Cheese Guldo in Japanese is just the back half of Yogurt And Ginyu is just Milk

I feel like this is the episode where, going forward, they hit every episode out of the park. Something you won't see much of going forward is random references to memes or whatnot; they don't need to, they know how to adapt and even improve upon the original. But at this stage, DBZA is more of a funny dub. Not far into the next season (after this Frieza stuff is done), DBZA becomes the best version of the original material. Not just the funniest version, but they also make really good choices with the characters.

I wonder if people who've only watched DBZA were confused when Krillin mentioned having died out of nowhere, because that happened in the Z-less Dragon Ball era. Although I guess it's kinda the same as when Chaotzu died for the second time and you just had to accept that it had happened before. You don't even need much additional context for this one. King Piccolo didn't mess around.

So it’s not something y’all need to react to, but on one of TFS’ other channels, they’re doing commentary for the episodes. Kaiserneko, one of the main guys and the main editor, researched the whole thing about lights causing seizures and made sure the lights wouldn’t actually cause seizures by decreasing their speed. I just think it’s really cool the dude thought outside the box like that.

Gotta respect editors who put that extra thought it for accessibility. Shame the Spiderverse movies tend to have more trouble with, just due to the overall artstyle of them making it alot more difficult. Hope they can make a version later on like in bluray/digital release thats less eyestrain inducing (I don't suffer it but these movies do tend to actually hurt my eyes on multiple rewatch)

So, the higher PL = higher speed thing is a misconception. Vegeta's speed increased when his Power Level did, but that's because you're comparing a weaker Vegeta to a more powerful Vegeta. Power Levels are an estimate of the total amount of energy a character gives off at any given time, but characters will naturally use that energy in different ways depending on their personality, training, or biology. For instance, Jeice, Burter, and Recoome all have around the same Power Level, but they specialize in energy manipulation, speed, and raw strength respectively. They're all good at energy manipulation, but Jeice has blasts more powerful than the others. They're all incredibly fast, but Burter is the fastest on the squad. They all have massive physical strength, but Recoome is a great deal stronger and more durable. This is partially influenced by the fact that the Ginyu's are all mutants in their respective races, and after they discovered their specialties in their youth, they specifically trained to capitalize on those strengths. Guldo is weaker than the others, but he has an overpowered ability that puts him on a similar playing field. Ginyu is much stronger than the middle three, but he's currently more of a jack-of-all-trades. Frieza is so much more powerful than all of them that he's effortlessly stronger, faster, and more durable. He's just too lazy to do things himself. While the joke was funny, it helps to keep in mind that TFS' explanation here isn’t necessarily how it works. There are usually circumstances to consider.

When it comes to the "it gets better" there are 2 ways of looking at it. 1. Episodes 1-5 are a bit rough and they don't really hit their core identify until a few episodes ago (about when the ginyu force arrives) 2. The show is good but OH MAN, you aint seen nothing yet. (Kinda like One piece) Both are accurate

The show basically continuously gets better from episode 1 to 60, but personally I'd say the point where it hits its stride is the episode when frieza shows up and kills dende's village - I want to say it's episode 14? From that point on it's the level of quality that I'm thinking of when I recommend the series. It's all pretty subjective though.

Tbf every abridged anime I've watched got better over time regardless of who made it. They all start rough around the edges trying to do too much, but eventually hit their stride. The first three episodes are always kind of weak and all over the place. The 4th on is when they start caring about plot progression because they ran out of low hanging fruit and over the top editor gags.

Krillin is STRONG! He is the strongest human fighter in the series. It's not his fault saiyans, androids and namekians are objectively stronger than humans in every way. But we can't fault Krillin for being human because we are all humans too 😅

In the past the strongest Saiyan was the father of Vegeta then himself. We are talking about no more than 18000 units of power. In Namek Vegeta got a lot stronger than that. And Goku arrives in the planet with more power. So yes, Vegeta thinking that Goku was the Super Saiyan is a serious thing.

Buu is such a huge project, I can understand why they stepped away. It took them years to finish the Cell saga and the Buu saga is significantly longer and much messier. If they did the Buu saga, they would have to break it into three series, and the casting and commitment was just too much. I'm disappointed as well, but I also can't see a team that small building a project that large on no money and youtube actively striking their content every few weeks. Still, I do hold out hope that they are secretly producing some Buu saga highlight episodes to be released once they mine the content they're interested in, rather than having jerk fans hound them for new content all the time.

The only time power level doesn't equal speed was Cell vs Grade 3Trunks. That was just the writer giving cell plot armor and hyping up Grade 4 which was useless since Super Sayian 2 a transformation that increased Gohan power level also increased his speed.

@@motionfist7431 you know my theory was that the future of super saiyan was mastering the transformations to the point where they could happen on the fly, staying in grade 1 or 2 for most of a fight, but briefly going grade 3 when that level of power could be effectively utilized, but good god was i wrong.

Not to mention that was what tvtropes calls a "Surprisingly Realistic Outcome" that subverted an asspull of Trunks happening to be stronger than Vegeta to the point of beating Perfect Cell. Also, speed getting a "stat boost" from a power up is not the same as speed being based on power level.
