ah yes, Echoes of Silence probably my personal favorite out of the trilogy I used to listened to this when I was in high school and my mom was mad because i failed the entirety of high school because of listening to echoes of silence instead of doing my homework. 😅

The Weeknd’s darkest project lol. I feel like this was him at his lowest mentally and emotionally. Numbing the pain with drugs and women, but being even more blatant with it than ever. “Initiation” is probably his darkest song and “Echoes Of Silence” is his most haunting. As unsettling and upfront evil XO/The Host and Initiation are, in context of the story of the trilogy, they just establish Birds Pt. 2 as the most uncomfortable song from a lore point of view. It shows that despite how he treats women, there was this one girl that not only withstood it and liked it, but fell so deep in love with Abel it drove her to insanity to the point she killed herself to make it stop, and him not necessarily caring
