Kenzie running on stage while Jude was the alternate remInded me of how Riley was considered competing at the qualifier with Alfie even though Piper had been rehearsing with Alfie. Riley was excusing that she needs to do it bcuz of losing the first qualifier, and Piper was like “Why would you put yourself through that? I think you don’t trust me” and she eventually realized that her feelings for Alfie were clouding her judgement

@@mockingariana3 I didn’t even connect it to her feelings for Pete, but now that you mentioned it, it’s in interesting reasoning for her character. I just thought Kenzie was being a Riley in that she thought it was her duty to help the team, even with better alternatives. Also, justice for Jude, cuz girl stepped down to become an alternate, and when she actually had a chance to prove herself as more than an alternate or dyslexic dancer, Kenzie just brushed past her

I completely agree with nationals this time being really rushed!! I rlly wanna see more of the dances, but it’s lacking in that as it’s so rushed that they have to fill it with other scenes. I also feel like a troupe are being really happy even though, like you said, the team wouldn’t be as ecstatic over Dylan just being happy and back to dancing moments after she just ran off stage, and I feel like there would be a troupe members that might question that. and have the writers STILL not learnt since season 4?? like what is it with having a storyline about alternates earlier in the season, and then when it comes to the real thing, it NEVER plays out. also if Nick was doing his bloody job, then I’m sure he would have had some intervening in the whole Jude/ Kenzie situation, and would quickly instruct Jude to go on stage, and tell Kenzie to let Jude dance, which is exactly what Michelle/ Emily and Ms Kate would have done. just infuriating 😩… But I will say the dances have been rlly good for me, but I personally think ultra elite are ok, like they’re hyping them up wayy too much, but I understand that’s how it has to fit the storyline because they’re rivals with TNS, but yeah I think they’re ok… also tns really need to fix their editing team and brush up on their skills, there’s been way too many moments of post production errors that are way too noticeable this season 😭😭

It wasn't right what Kenzie did, the job of the alternate is to fill in for a missing dancer. I think Kenzie should've thought it through first. (Also putting it out there that Jude knew the dance!?!). Also I'm a little confused how Shad got this opportunity for the music, seeing that he was linked to Maria, but Maria isn't on the Nationals Board? I didn’t like Kenzie running on like that, she definitely should have trusted in Jude more. I understand that she feels a responsibility as dance captain but Jude is there for a reason and she knew the dance. What’s the point of having an alternate if you’re not going to use them when they’re needed?

I feel bad for Jude. It was supposed be her moment and its her job to step in. However, Jude was so confident in her talking head but in the scene she was kinda frozen. She just stood there waiting. I felt like it would have taken a minute or two for her to take the stage while Kenzie took like 10-20 seconds So I can't fully blame Kenzie. I would be mad if Jude was getting ready and Kenzie was like "no don't worry I got it" and then takes the stage

I honestly hate Richozzy, it’s just so cringy and feels so forced. Cassidy’s only purpose is to make Richelle jealous which annoys me so much! When I read the descriptions of the episodes I actually thought it would be Winnie. That would be better than someone completely random in my opinion. The Jude and Kenzie situation was completely the worst, Kenzie needs to use her brain!!!!! I’m so excited for your rewrite though. I did like Alia (Acronations Dance Captain) with her prosthetic leg because that shows inclusivity. Margo and Dylan’s plot was sort of random I thought.

I felt so sorry for Jude when Kenzie ran out on stage but I feel like it was a case of tunnel vision for Kenzie. Despite Jude yelling, Kenzie was just too focused on fixing things by herself. There’s so much pressure with her being dance captain that she’s becoming too reliant on herself by developing a case of hero syndrome where she feels like she has to be the one to solve things but she doesn’t quite realise it herself. I’m assuming that’s why didn’t get an aftermath scene but I still wish we would have got one between Jude and Kenzie cause that definitely would have snapped her out of it, at least for a bit. But at the same time, I think Jude’s response was a bit too delayed. I wanted to see her physically touch or even grab Kenzie to get her attention but it seemed like she yelled a bit too late. But I guess it probably wouldn’t change much. But it’s such a shame because that would have been a great redeeming moment for Jude to shine as the alternate dancer. It’s almost as frustrating as the Riley and Amanda situation Lmao! Almost. I hope we get more of Alia and Acronation next season just so we can probably develop these new characters. Nice cameo from Amy. But I agree about the Dylan and Margo storyline feeling very rushed. There just wasn’t enough time for it properly create an impact and because it seemed more like a huge misunderstanding from Dylan’s part, it almost seems like they made it too much of a big deal when it really wasn’t. It didn’t quite have much impact given we don’t know them very well either. We definitely needed a Kenzie and Jude aftermath scene. Another gripe is that I don’t understand why Nick is sitting in the audience and not being behind the curtains with the team. Despite returning, it still feels like Kenzie is the studio head and all the pressure is being put on her which isn’t fair. I also feel like some people should have held a bit of grudge against Dylan for bailing but I suppose it preventing them from being disqualified. But it would have been nice for Dylan to have a bit of more apologetic moment between Kenzie and the team. Also that last group dance with those four dancers were great. They were very energetic and lively with their movements. They definitely should have gone through. Also RicShad >>>>>>>> Richozzy. I always prefer Shad and Richelle. No one can change my mind lmao.

I think a nice plot would've been to have some kind of family drama between Dylan and Margot (I think that's how you spell it? could be wrong though), like maybe Dylan's parents always supported Margot more than them and Dylan got treated unfairly and now Dylan wants to prove to the world that they're just as good, or maybe Margot didn't want it to be known to the public that she has a sibling because she wants Dylan to be treated equally to people without famous relatives, or maybe Margot left her family to be this big dance personality when her family needed her, or maybe Dylan did something to Margot out of jealousy to make her want to stay away from them and now they're ashamed of it or something like that. There's really enough possible reasons to come up with so if they just stretched the episodes out a bit more, maybe if they had a 35 episode season so they could focus on every character and their storylines more, everything would be way more interesting to watch because that also makes the viewers more attatched to this new a-troupe. That goes for other characters as well, I feel like there are characters in this troupe that we barely know 1 personality trait of, let alone their story, how good of a dancer they are, what other talents they have and stuff like that. There's even a guy on the troupe that I can't remember the name of while I watched the whole season. (Warning: the next sentence may contain a spoiler) I hope that if they make a 9th season they won't be afraid to make it a bit longer and go into detail about the characters, their way to internationals, their personal struggles and the routines at internationals. With the cliffhanger with Grace and Elite (please don't let it become a copy of the Amanda situation) this could really be a good season, so I hope they don't rush anything into a small amount of episodes.

I think for the small group dance, Jude was just not reactive enough, she was kind of just standing there till Kenzie ran to get the jacket.

Tbf though I would've expected Kenzie to tell Jude what she needs to do, Jude was on stand by. And you've gotta think that all happened within a few seconds, if it was enough time for Kenzie to grab the hoodie, it would've been enough for her to tell Jude to grab it. Plus, I don't think jude should've been expected to just run on, she'd have to warm up in the wings and be dressed for EVERY dance in that case. It's likely they would have allowed them at least a minute to regroup

I completely agree with the fact that Jude should have stepped up and not been pushed aside by Kenzie. Stepping up when needed is what alternates are for. I feel really bad for Jude, she deserves better. Also, I don't understand the Dylan and Margo plot either.

Dylan ran off the stage but Margo was still judging a dance of her sibling's studio so she could still be biased... I wonder if they thought about that🤔 Also... Kenzie's jacket during the dance was sooo distracting!

To be honest the entire aspect of alternates didn't make sense to me. I'd honestly find it so unfair if I auditioned for a team, got on, got all excited to go to nationals only to get told I'm not dancing unless someone's injured or something. I understand u need them in case of emergency but I think you should audition them separately like in season 7 so you could go into the audition knowing your probably not gonna dance but that's what your auditioning for. I feel like that would make more sense and be more fair to the dancers.

Life of dance not being at this nationals is kind of a waste as they are an already developed studio and their whole plot was being a feared team as they were nearly all female dancers at this nationals they would be able to actually have a team of 10 female dancers because male and female solo no longer exists and you can chose anyone to do the solo

I totally agree. They could of have had Life of Dance step out and do their routine and make the next step dancers nervous and questioning if they're good enough because LOD is this amazing dance studio where all the dancers look identical. If they had LOD, they could have had LOD go first in the solo category and do this amazing solo which would give Ebby another reason to be nervous before her solo.

I dunno, ultimately if tns was a studio where you pay to learn, it'd be excused I think. Dylans a child who made an error of judgement, but is a great dancer, and if they're paying to be at TNS you can't banish them

I feel cheated with this because to me this doesn't feel like nationals it just feels like a rubbish version of regional's. I'm so mad that there wasn't a Ms national soloist and a Mr national soloist and i'm mad that they were giving scores instead of just saying who won the round like the previous time and im just pissed that this whole season was garbage with emily leaving and the old atroupers not the ones going to nationals. Also why are we still bringing back elite, I Thought we were done with them also there wasnt any good rival teams. and i thought season 7 was bad. To me this was just a watered down version of season 2.

I agree with nationals being rushed as well as all of the inconsistencies. Like sea horse studio issue. It seems to be not well written and all of the episodes leave out certain things that need to be addressed, like the Kenzie and Jude thing. This season is not up to par to many season after season 6 it went down hill (my opinion) maybe it’s cus of all the new characters I don’t feel like it’s tns anymore.

I would have preferred if they didn’t announce the competition until they arrived like they did for LOD IN SEASON 2 nationals and Sweden in SEASON 3 internationals to build suspense because now they are just overhyping the teams before and they are never just as good. AND I agree the judges after season 6 are just terrible and ranking every mid dance too high and the best low

The Kenzie Jude thing annoys me so much, and I dont want to spoil anything so im not going to say much else until you finish nationals. Before the national eps i was worried about how well they would be, because nationals before was something that was really built up towards with a decent amount of emotional weight, high stakes, and pay off. This nationals felt more like a regionals comp, and most of the storylines (and dances) they tried to do here just did not work.

Hey there, I have a couple of questions for you 1) Will you do a video in which you rank the best dancers of season 8 from worst to best? 2) Is it just me or this a-troupe is the worst a troupe we've ever had? I mean, if we talk about dancing skills this a-troupe and a-troupe from season 1 and 4 are pretty close, but Season 1 a-troupe had Eldon who is arguably the best dancer of the show (I think that the best is Noah then West and then Eldon but obv it's just my opinion) and Michelle who was Miss National soloist, and all the other dancers were real good, I feel like if you put West from season 1 in this troupe he would be the best except for Heath and maybe Anthony or Daisy, and you've gotta consider that West wasn't incredible in season 1, it's in s2 and s3 that he became way better. Then a troupe in s4 had dancers kinda bad like Sloane LaTroy and Cassie, but there were also great and already experienced dancers like Noah and Alfie, this season's troupe doesn't have that many weak links but doesn't have the experienced great dancers like Noah and Alfie, as Heath and Kenzie are the only experienced dancers, but are not as good as Noah and Alfie, maybe Heath and Alfie are close, prolly Heath is even better, but for the rest of them, there is no comparison. So dancing skill, this a-troupe can held it's own against s1 and s4 a-troupes, but the big difference is because of the exploration of the characters. I think we've never had a single episode with every member of the troupe until the nationals episodes, a thing that happened in s7 too, and I don't like this, there was no built up for this troupe, I think that there are characters that never spoke to each other the whole season, like Xander and Ebby, or Heath and Jett, Jude and Izzy, that's kinda dumb, in every season from season 1 to 6 we had every character in every episode except for a couple of times per season, how is it possible that in s7 and s8B we've got so many episodes without characters? there is just so much wrong in s8B, it's not comparable to season 8A, so in conclusion: This a-troupe is the worst along with season 4 a troupe, I put season 1 above as in s4 the show could've changed it's name from The Next Step to The Next (useless) drama

How did acronation get in regionals wasn't the error in the rules that allowed a team to go to 2 differents regionals in order to qualify to nationals corrected?like wouldn't that stop acronation from qualifying?

They likely have a team of past regionals winners, as the troupe that went to Nationals are from their East Coast team, not the same team that went to regionals in s6. At least that's how i saw it

i dont know much about dylan and their relationship with margo, but i find it kind of silly that DYLAN’S LITERAL SISTER is the reason they ran off. dylan just doesn’t seem dedicated if they are willing to run off and not care just because of their sister. it just seemed dramatic, immature, pick me and stupid on dylan’s part, and they should have gotten much more backlash from the rest of a-troupe!!

I took that as she wouldn't gain any, so in effect she's lost some, but they wouldn't actually subtract them from the score. She just wouldn't get any costume points to start with.
