The minute you mentioned Goldielocks as number 1, I started jamming and singing the song immediately! It’s super catchy! I’ll anyways continue blasting Nightmares by Neea River every day, and cry to Aina when I listen to it…but yeah, that’s a strong one!

You should never think about what would be the best for the ESC, when people start think like that things will start going wrong. At least for Finland, Finland used to do that before but in recent years when they've stopped thinking too much about what people would like and just chosen their own favorite their results have magically gotten better.

I've really enjoyed your reactions Kostis! You made some great points in your analysis/ranking. My order: 1. Joint first place Goldielocks and Erika Vikman. Love both in different ways and both could wow with a great live show. 2. Nelli Matula. Earworm, love the lyrics and the meaning behind the song, but obviously it is in Finnish so it might not be so obvious to non-Finnish speakers. 3. VIIVI - Pretty song, VIIVI's voice is special. A bit too slow in the beginning for my liking though. 4. One Morning Left. Good energy, memorable. I just wish the lyrics were better, now it comes off as trying too hard to be funny. 5. Neea River. The song is fine, just nothing unique and not my genre. 6. costee. Not my thing, generic melody, especially in the chorus. It says something, that the melody has been compared to several other Finnish songs already.

I like Goldielocks, and Made Of is probably the closest to what I personally listen to outside of the ESC. I just firmly believe, in order to succeed in the ESC, Finland needs a showstopper, and Made Of is not quite that. It's too chill. It's one of those songs, which the ESC has each year, which turn out to be my favourites, but which barely make it to the final. That being said, I think Erika, if she nails the vocals and the live show stays in the range of hot but not trashy, has what it takes. I doubt she'll have a chance to win, if I'm honest, because of the more conservative viewers, but apparently, the music video has been shadowbanned on YT, and if anything, this song will be a show stopper on stage. When we sent Käärijä to the ESC, we knew not everyone would love him, but we here in Finland did - and it turned out, so did Europe. Last year, we had a man with nothing but leghairs to cover his lower body, and we were proud of him, despite the final score. For Goldielocks, I wish much success on her career, and hopefully, she reaches the playlists with this song, because she is an interesting artist. For ESC, I hope for something that will make some people uncomfortable and some uncomfortably warm.

Hm I kinda like this song, it does feel like it has a bit of an identity crisis though (musically), if it had that little bit extra I'd say it would clean sweep but now I'm not so sure, maybe this über sexy video is enough 😅 75% televote probably means Puppy might still win. Even though I think Puppy could have been a lot better I still want it to win, but it's close with Erika. Overall it's a great lineup, almost as strong as last year's. 1. One Morning Left - Puppy. 2. I will just list the songs I like. As an indie rock girl, I find "Puppy" has elements not to my taste. Goldielocks is the only song that gave me what I wanted, and that's because of the really cool rythm and artistry. So; 1.Goldielocks 2. Nelly (because I love the soft flow and the synth) 3. Vivi - Aina (Quality/Expression, but very standard).

Hoida Mut completely flopped on stage, not because the song was bad, but because the public didn't go along with its saucy lyrics. So I find it hard to believe that the same public would then massively vote for Ich Komme. Let's not forget that there is a German element in this song, and I don't know how the geopolitical situation makes Finns feel about German right now and given the historical background of that relationship, it's tricky. It's a curious battle between this and Puppy, that is hard to predict. We will understand what happened once we have the results. I would hope that these two can split the televotes and allow Made Of to win with the backing of the jury.

@@lieska333 Ok, good to know, it was just a hypothesis. I have noticed that apart from Blood and Glitter, Finland hasn't been voting for German songs at Eurovision, but that is a tough correlation to prove given that German songs have been largely not voted by everyone.

@@spiraalilla I didn't find the vocals so bad, and neither did the two juries that gave 12 points and another that gave 8, seems like too much of a coincidence to me that a song that actually sounds really good would suddenly lose all support just because of vocals. There are multiple examples in Eurovision of overly R-rated songs flopping, the vast percentage of the general public is not interested in that. Let's see, if Erika wins the televote, I will reconsider my analysis.

This was such a huge disappointment - don't know what I expected from Erika, but definitely something better than this!! Cicciolina was at least catchcy, this is just unmelodic and... p*rn. Don't know how anyone would want to see p*rn on Eurovision stage?! No way. Please don't let this win UMK, Eurovision gods!! ;) But on the positive side, my UMK Top 2 is the same as yours, Kostis :D
