The Geno journey has taught me that most high profile busts give up on getting better once they settle into the backup tier. Geno has said in interviews he took advantage of his time as a backup and learned from his QB room, pushed himself in the practice room and prepared as if he was the starter. Glad to see it is paying off for him in Seattle.

Honestly, the Raven's entire philosophy since Lamar proved he was a high caliber NFL QB has been "8 Got Us", and that is just not a winning strategy long term. He even mentioned it in a press conference before week 1 in response to a question about him stepping up his vocal leadership. He's clearly tired of that being this team's strategy for in-game situations and team building.

I don’t know why Shane Waldron is asking Caleb Williams to do 7 step drop backs on every play and Shane Waldron is ultlizing no motion and his run schemes are running into a brick wall Edit: The fact that Travis Homer is getting more carries than Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert is mind boggling. The Ravens really need to run more under center, because then they could get Lamar out on designed rollouts and bootlegs to hide the bad right side of the offensive line. That also means that they could have Mark Andrews as the main inline tight end and use Isaiah Likely as that big slot. I would still have the concern that this team doesn't have a great outside WR (Zay is solid but I would prefer him in the slot). Still better then Lamar getting killed behind this offensive line (why did they trade Morgan Mosses).

@BarryDillon452 күн бұрын
When you were talking about Herbert and said “the fear that…” As a Chargers fan I feel that. I don’t know exactly what you were going to say, but from what I’ve seen I’m very scared that Harbaugh and Roman turn him into a game manager, and don’t allow him to really play like a great QB. It’s concerning because Herbert is viewed as this superstar, possibly elite QB, but now you’re taking away the X-factor of this team that could hopefully get us past Mahomes and the Chiefs some day. And it’s confusing because if Harbaugh planned on playing his good old “Harbaugh ball” then why go to a team with a superstar QB that’s taking up a lot of cap space? Just to barely throw the ball. Herbert has to play better, but I think this could be detrimental to his development/career outlook. Chargers fans are celebrating now, but I could see them become very frustrated by the end of the season.

Regarding Eberflus and the Bears, I have to completely disagree that "he's doing his job" because the defense is performing, but the offense isn't. Eberflus, like Robert Saleh, is not the DC. They're head coaches. Even if they have a defensive background, I don't understand this desire to give them a free pass for consistently having bad offenses. They choose their coordinators. They are responsible for the lack of offensive adjustments. We can't simply shurg our shoulders when half the team consistently looks bad under a HC. Look at Dennis Allen. I thought he was beyond done last year. But, he finally moved on from Carmichael, and bought in a young, offensive mind to handle the offense. Obviously, it's early, but you can see the difference. Meanwhile, Eberflus and Saleh went with two old, uninspiring retreads (waldrom and Hackett). And yeah, I get it, Hackett is Rodgers buddy. But it's pretty clear the offensive playcalling is lagging behind most other teams

KC: Mahomes / Kelce, Chris Jones, Harrison Butker, Andy Reid, Steve Spagnuolo. Doesn't matter what part of the game, the team has someone who can make a play. Other teams might be able to match Mahomes on offense, they might stop Chris Jones, but they still have to watch Butker get the field goals. All the while Andy and Steve are adjusting plays. KC is the "best" team, because it's an actual "team" in that all the gears are working even if one part of it might be squeaky.

It Rodgers has a lower ceiling now due to his mobility, how are the Jets still legit SB contenders? The whole offseason narrative was "he will carry Hackett and his bad play calling". It looks like its not sustainable for Rodgers to change the play every down. Lead to at least 3 false starts, or timeouts to stop a false start (2 instances) So what if they have a floor raiser? There's no consistent pass rush, even if/when Reddick comes back. How long will he need to adjust? Will he even be motivated? I know guy disagree, but the Jets are pure fools gold to me. Also, yes, reddick should negotiate. But so should the Jets! They need to win
