Vinland saga is one of my all time favorite manga-anime series. The mangaka of this story has really outdone himself in showing some of the gruesome themes of life in the best way possible. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to this masterpiece.

Vinland has been a classic un the manga sphere for years, its a long story that dwells in really deep and strong thematics and does a good job balancing the action and brutality of those times with the more slow and reflective moments of their characters. Wit and Mappa are doing an amazing job adapting this masterpiece and i would absolutely love to see you reactions. Also a big portion of the story is based on real history and so many of the characters really existed, which makes everything a lot more compelling.

FUN FACT: This mange based on the historical event called Vinland Saga. I remember learning the story in school as a child. Vinland is what we call Canada today. Some of those characters did exist in real life. So dont search there names in history sites because of spoilers. I love this story so much as a Scandinavian and Norwegian.

Season 1 and season 2 are like night and day in terms of theme. Season 1 is more action oriented (but don't let that distract you from the philosophical undertones) and season 2 is a masterclass in story telling and character development. It's actually criminal just how slept on season 2 is just because it's not as action oriented as season 1

Yeah, the vikings raided England and other parts of Europe during their age. They would claim people as spoils of war and make them slaves called "trälar" that they would treat like animals and sell to the highest bidder. It's really gruesome stuff. I forget that not everyone in the world has the Viking Age as a mandatory part of their history curriculum like we have in Swedish schools.

So Op 1 and 2 are more intuitive for what is happeing in the story, Op 3 I fell in love with it once I started watching the season since it goes very deeply with what is really happening. Last, Op 4 is just perfect like OP1. The lyrics are so perfect and it goes perfect with season 2. Pd: Fun fact if you gonna watch Viland Saga, if I'm not mistaken season 1 is a prequel to the original work. So that why when you changed from S1 to S2 you see the big difference. Plus the author has commented that it hurt him a lot when he had to write what it's season 1. If I'm wrong in something feel free to correct me, I'm just paraphrasing here.

Vinland Saga is one of my favorite anime/manga of all time. The manga was already incredible and the anime adaptation did it more than justice. It‘s the type of story that only gets better the closer you look. Every detail is intentional. Many people were surprised (and some even upset) by the direction the story took in season 2, but for those who really paid attention in season 1, there was no other way the story could‘ve played out. This is not supposed to sound elitist by the way, I (dis)missed a lot of the signs in season 1, too, and only REALLY started picking up on their importance once I read the story arc covered in season 2 lmao

Watch Vinland Saga or not? Checklist for you: - you enjoy seeing a character through different states of his life (literally growing up) - you want to see crazy character development (& in more than 1 character) - psychological and moral dilemmas are interesting for you - society criticism making you think - also seeing some gore & blood doesn’t make you faint right away If you can deal with that you will love VinlandSaga. I am really not a fan of violent gory shows and still loved the hell out if this show. It’s not doing these bloody scences for the awesome but the realism, showing how bad war actually is and therefore I really appreciate its real take on things (also though I make it sound as if there is a lot of bloodbath going on and we also have many calm scences that outweighs the battle-one’s.)

What I gathered from *some ppl's thoughts between Season 1 to Season 2 is similar to ppl's thoughts on The Walking Dead's Season 1 > Season 2 lol* (Personally , I liked both season 2 of The Walking Dead and Vinland Saga, but I definitely liked season 1 more of both series). I memorized that last opening in 2 days, and yea it says, "Dividing lines between the victims" and the next line is, "And what will soon become the prey". My favorite part of that opening is the line, "I maybe crazy enough to break myself inside my head, cuz lately I couldn't find these answers to live by instead... some will call it giving up, I just call it getting lost in my own revenge".
