No words can express how much both Vinland Saga and SSTP have changed my life for the better. Thank you SSTP, for being one of those bands that I can constantly play any of your songs on repeat. Mukanjyo was so good, and there are times when it gets me hyped up so much when I'm doing certain things. But Paradox is honestly one of my top, if not my absolute favorite SSTP song. The emotions, the chord progressions, the amazing instrumentals, and Yosh's unique voice have once again coalesced into a piece of music that ties in tremendously well with the story and especially this current season of Vinland. I hope with all my heart, for SSTP to be able to continue doing future openings for Vinland Saga for as long as the series animated, and also for new albums along the way. Thorfinn, Einar, Canute, even Arnheid’s internal struggles were told so beautifully you can’t help but both love and relate to all these extremely varied characters. Vinland Saga is a work of art and given where the manga leads to, it continues to prove true. After hearing and reading the lyrics of the two openings by Survive Said The Prophet, I can't even begin to imagine how much work they put into the music and lyrics to encapsulate Thorfinn's journey and personality so perfectly. It is one thing to make a great track with not much meaningful lyrics but to achieve both of these things at such a crazily good level is unfathomable to me. That is the reason I really respect this band and will continue to support them.

I can't be the only one who thinks that Thorfinn's character development is among the best in all of manga. Just an incredible transformation as a human being, from violent, bitter and hellbent on revenge to being kind-hearted, considerate, selfless, and having to go through the process of letting go of the rage that drove his actions throughout his life until that point. And the transition in tone from Mukanjyo to Paradox reflects that journey he has made so well.

I've just finished season 2 last night after postponing for a long time. Thorfinn's dilemma is one of the most relatable humane things in the history of human-being, probably because the story is partially based on true history. I adore every Thorfinn's dialogue, he's now become one of my favorite main characters. If you think a little bit deeper, season 1 Thorfinn is a confused and rebelious teenager, whereas season 2 Thorfinn is someone who seeks wisdom from the past to move towards maturity. And everything is depicted beautifully in accordance with the zeitgeist and socio-political context of Viking's era (which I can never imagine myself living in that kind of scary era). We all definitely have our own Thorfinn inside us, to embrace. So, in my opinion, those who think season 2 is boring, probably just some teenagers who still cannot see deeper into life.

Season 1 ws great, Askeladd was a marvelous character and my favorite of the series. However...season 2 was true art. We see so much more than war and cool scenes, we see character growth and that is what we need more in series. Thorfinn went from war and hell, on a path of hatred and vengeance, to trying to live with heavy burdens of regret and trying to find inner peace, even when he doesnt believe he should be allowed to. Einar goes from peace, to sorrow to severe anger and resentment to where he can also forgive and move on. Then we have extras like ketil being a kind old man to his descent into madness and cruel hatred. Snake is a man who believed he had to live by the sword but shows a great loyalty to his men and even ketil who has cared for them. We still got a monster in Thorgell who at the end of the day is still the same, sometimes monsters stay monsters. Then finally we have ketil's son, who so desperately wanted to prove himself as a man, in the end while not a fighter, he still proved he was a better man than most. He was willing to give himself up without a fight if it meant the others were safe, and to stop the bloodshed. While season one was really focused on revenge, hatred and war, season 2 was mental and physical peace and how you must struggle for it. As a person who struggles mentally with themselves every day, i love it
