Reacting to FALLOUT 1X2, you want me to do WHAT??

I am finally back with a new video!! I am so sorry about the lack of content last week; my computer crashed and i wasn't able to access anything! But it got fix and i am back with another reaction to FALLOUT episode 2.

The Fallout games are a blend of brutal combat, dark humor, and zany encounters. The diaper-wearing guy is a reference to some NPCs you meet in the original 1997 Fallout game. Also, Lucy waving her gun at him is an inside joke about how players often don't put their weapons away when talking to NPCs. Two Easter eggs in one scene. Brilliant!

there is even a third easter egg: he claims he never was in filly, although it's just over the hill. this shows how different the perception of distance in the games for the player character on the one hand and the NPCs on the other hand is. NPCs often stay within a very small space and talk about other places as if they were far away, although the player only needs a few minutes to get there.

One thing to keep in mind for the show. *Everything* (nearly) has an explanation or a reason. It's crazy how tightly-written it is. The show definitely doesn't hold your hand - sometimes you have to connect references and indirect hints across multiple episodes, but you can safely assume that if it looks random or irrational, it has a reason, and isn't a plot hole or bad writing. E.g - Lucy pointing the gun at 'diaper man' is an in-joke about players not holstering their weapons while having conversations. So they're just casually chatting while pointing a giant shotgun or something at the NPC the whole time. 😆 Edit: Just saw someone else beat me to the gun reference so here's another couple. ☺ There are SO many, the show is packed with them. * Maximus getting his foot stuck is a dual reference - he doesn't know how to use the armour, and it's a joke about the (notoriously bug-filled) Bethesda Fallout games and getting stuck in the terrain. * The Ghoul wasn't really trying to kill Maximus, he didn't want to provoke the Brotherhood. He was having fun and didn't switch to armour-piercing bullets. The ones he was using looked like little rockets, the AP bullets look different. That will have meaning later.

The people in the vaults are, for the most part, people rich enough to buy a spot. The surface is very survivable, though dangerous, 220 years after the war. In Fallout 1, 80 years after the war, it was a whole lot worse. There was very little vegetation, famine was common, and most of the animals were carnivorous dog-sized insects (and much much worse). A lot of the people who live on the surface are descended from people who lived in remote areas, and some from vaults that opened earlier, for whatever reasons. There weren't very many people back then. A large town would have like 100 people living there. Things have changed a lot for the better since then.

ahhh okay i see! So the season 1 is not necessarely based on the first game! That is very good to know because there are some backstories/information that we are missing. What i am wondering also is why did the bombs happened at all??! If they'll say in the show, dont tell me though 👀Anyway, thank you for sharing your knowledge of the game to help me understand the show a bit more!! As i mentioned in the first episode, i had NO IDEA at all as to what i was getting into; no context whatsoever so i appreciate it 😇

Each game has a different story, main character and location, set in the world of Fallout. The show is it's own story, canon to the games and taking place 9 years after the events of Fallout 4. Here's the timeline: - Bombs drop in 2077 - Fallout: 2161, set in Southern California - Fallout 2: 2241, set in Northern California - Fallout 3: 2277, set in Washington, D.C. - Fallout New Vegas: 2281, set in the Mojave Desert - Fallout 4: 2287, set in Boston - Fallout tv show: 2296, set in the Greater Los Angeles area

Hahah im hoping too!! I'm happy that you like it :) not only do i not know anything about the game, but these kind of show are normally not my cup of tea, i am a sitcom, romcom kinda gal, so it might take me a little longer to understand everything but i do get there eventually 🙌

Is the game really like this? YES When the target left the Enclave, sentry gun did not hit him because , in the game they are horrible shots. Yes the music in game is the same as in the series. Who and why people are in the vaults is explained later in the series,. Every reactor gets mad at the Ghoul for stabbing 404, realistically on the surface if something attacks you you fight back. I suspected that 404 would be revived because in the game a dog is a common companion. The slow motion in the gun battle is a nod to the games VATS system which slows down the action in fights. Lucy and the ghouls guns are in the series only they dont exist in the game. In game terms: IMO Lucy is first level, with skill in science ,guns ,repair, melee good Agility and charisma. Maximus is level 4-5, low intelligence, gun skill and the toughness perk, also high luck. The Ghoul is max level, max skills, max stats has played the game multiple times done all the quests .

the ghoul's gun is in some of the games, it is called a handcannon, i think.

The Ghoul also appears to have the Bloody Mess perk. Lucy appears to have poor Speech skill but extremely high Luck.

Lucy's gun is the syringer gun in fallout 4 you can make different types of syringes for it.

I love that Weltzig acts as NPC in mission. Stand or sit there till you "invoke" the answer. Also those turrets are notoriously inaccurate in the games. One vault would cost 400-600 billion dollars each, depending size and power source. You could buy a place from a vault but only the rich people could afford it. What comes Vault's generally... We'll return that as series progress'.

Ghouls can take a fair bit of damage, but they aren’t truly immortal or impervious. Radiation heals them in the game. I think it was a nod to Bethesda games like Elder Scrolls and Fallout where you can be taking damage and eat some food to heal.

You could buy your way into a vault or rather reserve a space BUT the vaults are more than what they appear to be. Think of them like a science experiment and how you are taught the scientific method is applied.

Oh yeah, just the way even Lucy hesitate to really explain how they are going to "save america" and what the purpose of the vault is..... It for sure hide something. It was a way for rich t people to hide, yes, but also a way to control everyone i think

In the game, most weapons have "Legendary Variants" you can find, and one of the variants is "Explosive." So I assume the Ghoul has an Explosive variant of his weapon, which explains its insane destructive power.

@@JustMyles15 If you're very lucky (or very unlucky, depending on how you look at it) you can find an explosive legendary variant of the shotgun. -- every single pellet of buckshot counts as an explosive impact... but it's a close-range weapon... 😅

@@JustMyles15 They heal quickly, if you notice in the middle of the Filly gunfight, he's eating tomatoes to heal like the max level player he is. That's why he's 1shotting everything in sight, and why he's carrying around tons of different bullets in his bandolier. Just like a badass player would after playing the game he was already good at (being a cowboy) for 200+ years presumably.

I haven't played all games but in general: The tone of the series seems to be an amalgam of all of the games. Some games in the series are more sinister and serious, some are more wacky. But they all share at least some amount of both. I remember back in the day when Fallout 1 first came out, the game was pretty dark and serious. Most of the humor was in the manual in the form of those Vault-Tec cartoons which we also see in the series. They expanded on that in the later games. (I later found out that I missed quite some funny stuff because I didn't play an Intelligence 1 character!)
