I would like to clarify that the claim made by some of Abdel Wahab's supporters, in which they claim that Farid copied the song "Spring" from Abdel Wahab's melody (Cleopatra), is incorrect... on the pretext that Farid sang the song "Spring" in 1949, while the song "Cleopatra" was in 1944, for several reasons that I will explain in the following points: 1- Farid presented the operetta "Spring Song" in the movie "Afreeta Hanem" in 1949. 2- As for the song (Spring), Farid composed it five years before that, specifically in the year (1944), according to the testimony of the poet and songwriter, Mr. Mamoun El-Shennawy (attached is the link to the meeting in which the poet Mamoun El-Shennawy mentions this fact): kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnrLlpRnl9OBg8U 3- Through this, we discover that the song (Spring) and the song (Cleopatra) were presented in the same year 1944 AD....but the question remains, who copied from the other??? 4- The answer to this question is clear from the following: In Farid's song, we find that the disputed melodic phrase is present in the lyrical introduction (in the first musical note), while in Abdel Wahab's tune, we find that the melodic phrase comes at the end of the song, specifically at the beginning of (the third verse).... The question here is... When the borrower steals any musical phrase, does he put it clearly at the beginning of the song, or does he try to hide it between the folds of the verses and musical phrases? 4- It is known that Farid's house was an open shrine for everyone, from musicians, poets, writers and artists on a daily basis, and he holds evening parties almost daily in which he sings his famous songs, and he also presents his new melodic projects to his close friends to know their opinions about them (and one of his close friends was the musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab... and I believe that this matter may answer the question). 5- It is known to all musicians and critics that Mohamed Abdel Wahab is the most famous musician to have musical quotations in his songs, and these quotations were confirmed by UNESCO when it rejected his nomination twice in a row for the UNESCO World Prize, which was won on both occasions by the great Egyptian musician Riyad Al Sunbati and the Saudi musician Tariq Abdul Hakim.

While you definitely have a point and your reasoning is totally understandable, this is a bit more complicated than it looks. After discussing with Fareed Al Badra, it seems that original song of Rabeea didn't have this intro that sounds like Abdel Wahab's song! That intro started in the 1970s concerts. Apparently Farid Al Atrache had composed this intro before 1944 and as they were close friends and God knows what was the agreement between them, this intro shows up in the song of Abdul Wehab and then it is being added to the intro of Rabeea later on.

Yesterday we talked about farid,ferdi and abdelwahab . And i think this is a good suggestion video that shows how Farid and Abdelwahab were close friends, In 1960 may 12 an assassination was failed that targeted Abdelwahab and in the hospital Farid visited him and Farid played with the oud of abdelwahab to cheer him up . Very rare video and beautiful. U can c both of them singing and enjoying pure art . As a matter of fact, ALRABIH was composed by Farid El-Atrache around the month of March 1944. Ma'amoun Alshinnawi the Poet who wrote ALRABIH said that during a Radio interview. Alshinnawi added the song was originally written to Umm Kalthoum , Umm Kalthoum wants to change some words in the song, so Shinnawi told her sorry not a single word. Shinnawi left UMM Kalthoum home and went straight to Farid's house. Farid listened to the poem and according to Shinnawi Farid composed the song in 3 days. Abdul Wahhab composed Cleopatra around the seconed half of 1944.
