You might not have noticed Shuhua at first, because she barely spoke Korean at the time of their debut (she's the Taiwanese member) and because she was insecure about it she asked Soyeon to give her the smallest parts but she's slowly singing more lines ever since Uh Oh. Also, (G)I-DLE was originally meant to be a hip hop GG but Soyeon wanted to be more experimental. Queen.

Idk.. maybe not in korea, but personally I think they were quite underrated internationally.. cos they were always overshadowed by Itzy and other groups from big companies. Before this, if people were talking about gidle, they were like "oh those gg with arabian vibes".. even my kpop friends didn't know about them until Lion came out. So I think their real success starts from Queendom where people truly see who they really are and their talents, especially Soyeon's. I'm glad they are getting really popular now though, especially with Oh My God and Dumdi Dumdi

Shuhua, being Chinese, is still new to Korean; her lines are as much memorized phonetically as actually known. She'll learn, as years go by, but it takes time. Koreans demand perfection from their idols, all the time, every time.

Gidle debuted just 2 years ago and are already one of the most popular girl groups in kpop, I definitely wouldn't call them underrated. Their last album sold 150k which is rare for girl groups (not from a big 3 company)

One MV that you still have for them is their song "Hann" its another on the dark-ish side from the view of a scorned lover and all around a great song. Yuqi sticks out to a lot of people. Her voice just doesn't match her face or body but it's very mature and kind of dark. There is a clip somewhere in the Dingo channel of a pre-debut Yuqi asking people on the street to listen to her sing. I highly recommend watching it.

I think what makes (G)I_Dle stand out is that they have five very unique voices. They stand out within the group, but also in KPop in general. And while I don't think Shuhua's voice stands out by itself, I think it is the perfect blend between all of their voices.

Honestly it was Yuqi who really stood out to me the first time I heard this group (in LATATA) her surprisingly low voice given how she looks and her confidence. Then I saw some of their vlive content and found out she's a multilingual mega-troll particularly with Minnie and I'm hooked.

The vocal line is Miyeon, Minnie and Yuqi. Miyeon really can put it out live, she and Soyeon were also in the League of Legends group called KDA in the songs Pop Stars, More and Baddest. You could also check a cover that Miyeon and Minnie did of Love Scenario, it's great.

Minnie is definitely more flexible and I personally consider her a better vocalist. I don't know what exactly to say about Miyeon, other than, she is a really good vocalist too of course, and just like the other members of the group, she has a very unique, memorable voice.

@@zouz3588 That's a very good point, Miyeon does seem to have a stable voice, but we also don't see her stretch how she uses her voice either. We see Minnie doing things like in the 2nd verse of Lion. We never really get to see Miyeon do anything outside of her norm, I doubt it's because she can't do it either, so I'd love to see what she can do. So in that regard, this is how I see it: We know Minnie can definitely do more with her voice, she just needs to refine it, which is probably easier than what Miyeon would have to do to improve, though that is PURELY off the fact we as fans don't see her exert herself very much. We don't know what she is capable of behind closed doors. :D (so it's really hard to say either is better or worse)

Minnie is there best generalist able to go high and low and do modifications, Miyeon is their best high note/power vocal, Yuqi is their best low note. I think Soojin does the seductive vibe the best, Soyeon's raps are obviously amazing. Shuhua is the only one who I can't make a determination on because her line distribution is the least. Maybe once a song comes out where they give her a lot of lines

The interesting part about (G)I-dle, is they don't really have a concept, therefore the defining and memorable factor of the group is their unique voices. They are able to aggressively push the boundaries of what a kpop girl group should be able to do because everything sits upon their voices. No song really sounds at all similar to another, yet it is still definitively an (G)I-dle sounding song due to some production techniques being carried across most of their songs, but most importantly, their voices, and how they use them in their songs are unforgettable.

It has a video released for Halloween and it is a dark remix of their album track Put It Straight which was more ballad-like but Soyeon somehow managed to turn it dark and eerie. Their live performance of it on Queendom was super epic too. (Mamamoo were on there too) I think you'd be blown away! Thank you for watching them. They're my fave gg. Definitely check out their live version of Say No/Put it Straight Nightmare version. The original Say No/Put it Straight is also really lovely. It's nice to compare the two because you can get a whole different vibe from it. Hann is wonderful. Their Queendom Lion performance can't be missed. They also did a dark version of Latata on Queendom that is phenomenal. They're an amazing group when they're on stage. Soyeon especially has some of the best stage presences of any girl group member. Soyeon really writes amazing songs. She's written most of their discography. Minnie has written a few as well: For you, Blow Your Mind, i'm the Trend, and Tung-Tung. Also worth checking out, is Yuqi's Shallow cover. I really loved Maybe and Luv U both from i Trust. Maze is an amazing vocal song (from I AM). Soyeon also put a song called "The Loveless" which is amazing. They did a great performance on Immortal Songs 2 which really shows off how lovely they sound singing. They also covered All That Jazz during K-con which was awesome. They sounded amazing. And all that's just off the top of my head.

Miyeon is actually the lead vocalist, but Minnie is recognized for her unique, different, beautiful voice in kpop. Uh-Oh was a throw back to the 90s,2000s hip hop style music and even the way of filming was of that style and era. Low position of cameras point upwards towards the artists. That was common way of filming in that era.

underrated is a bit of a stretch, but would say most don't realize how unique they are as Idols, very few Idol groups are actually self made (my definition is if you didn't contribute at least 20% you ain't selfmade), and even fewer are Girlgroups, combine that with their talent and sense for beats, and well a uniquely gifted Idol group is made. They gained a lot through the show Queendom, although they didn't win I would say they were one of two competitors that gained the most from the show (them and Oh my girl), since it gave a look behind the scenes, and thus showing that they aint the usual selfmade with a 17 writers and composers also credited, but well actually selfmade, usually with a single producer from the label assisting them. it is one of the groups where I would recommend checking out their B-sides as well, it is a goldmine. PS might be wrong because I can't source it, but read somewhere that Soyeon is under an artist contract, could explain why she so freely can collab and create for others even outside the label she is under... if they renew (5 years from now) they will probably all get those contracts, but maybe even sooner, sometimes the labels can surprise you (usually negatively, but once in a blue moon it will be positively) their B-sides don't have MVs except "blow your mind" which Minnie created, its home video style MV, from their trip to San Francisco some years ago (it's a documentary on youtube in five parts, called "To Neverland")

G-Idle are experimenting a lot and i don't think there is a concept they haven't tried out. As other mentioned, Soyeon writes, composed (and arraganged for example the staged of Queendom) nearly all of their songs. btw, do you know she holds the record for fastest female rap currently? Her flow is insane. She participated on "Unpretty Rapstar" in her ealier years and destroyed everyone there. 😂 Minnie sang a beautiful OST recently. It's so good as well. :)

Soyeon, the monster made by Audition shows, as she is sometimes refered too, was in both Produce 101 (which had a rigging scandal that resulted in prison time) and Unpretty Rapstar, during the latter she did a diss rap against another competitor called 'Cool Kid' that made her visibly fall off her game and actually step back from the younger girl! she tends not to be the one in the front of their online presence Yuqi is pronounced more like oogi Shuhua had fewer lines in the early songs because she thought her Korean was poor as she is one of the foreign line with Minnie and Yuqi

Soyeon produces pretty much every MV song for the group. It was never intended to be that way, but their debut kept being delayed so she started writing songs they could use and out came "LATATA.". "Uh-Oh" is Soyeon calling out her haters for suddenly wanting to be nice to her now that she is successful. She put up with a lot of people criticizing her looks and voice, but that girl is a firecracker and no one was stopping her from blowing up. You could tell watching her on Unpretty Rapstar, before anyone really knew her, that she had a massive chip on her shoulder. Miyeon was a long time trainee with YG. It looks very much like she was the 5th member of Blackpink before the group was cut down to 4. I don't know if anyone knows the true reason she was removed, but she left YG and ended up in (G)I-dle.

for live performances, you can probably check out their Immortal Songs 2 (im sure youre familiar with this since Mamamoo slays these!) stage called 비몽 as well as their Queendom stages like Put It Straight (Nightmare Ver.) and Lion (which was originally debuted in Queendom). Minnie also did a duet with Hyejeong from AOA for one of the Queendom stages. ALSO! If you'd like to hear Soyeon sing, she actually wrote a solo ballad during her trainee days and its called The Loveless. That's if you're interested in hearing more of vocalist Soyeon. In terms of other members, I think (G)I-DLE is really interesting because each member sounds sooo distinctly different from each other. You’ve checked out a few girl groups now and each time you’re surprised they can sing 😆 I think it’s actually more rare for girl group members to NOT be able to sing. It’s just that with kpop, the songs don’t always showcase vocals, like Girls Generation for example, you watching Gee or I Gotta Boy may not show you that every single member can actually sing well, it’s just those songs don’t show it you know. I find it fascinating no one ever checks out my favorite song by them, which is Hann. Is Hann really that underracted? That needs fixing if so. Also, if you want to listen to a slower song to appreciate their vocals even more, I'd recommend Put it Straight. Unfortunately, you will have to react to the Halloween dance practice (which is in season. Lol) since the only other performance is from Queendom and it might get blocked.

Hann has hit 100 million views a while ago, i don't think it is. It's a great song and a cool MV as well. Fans predict they'll have their 3rd comeback in december. And (g)i-dle gave spoiler for their next comeback. The spoiler was something dark. And recently Soyeon said that she is working on the song of the next comeback and her goal is 3rd promotion in 2020. Also, in Oh my God era, when people asked "what is the next comeback be like?" , Soyeon said "If it's gonna be in summer, bright and fun concepts (that was for dumdi dumdi), if it is in winter dark and cool concepts." So yeah we all expect something like Oh My God and Lion .

I believe I've mentioned it, but our boys Onewe also did a cover of Latata. Suffice to say, they made it very much their own; you can't really say one did it better than the other because they're so totally different... I don't know if you're aware, but Soyeon and Miyeon are also part of K/DA, a group consisting of female League of Legends characters; they voice Akali and Ahri respectively. I recommend checking out POP/STARS (both the MV, and the live version from the opening of the LoL finals), and The Baddest.

I'm Korean and I've grown up with Kpop. Most of Girlgroup in Kpop try to seem cute and innocent. But (G)I-DLE is different they really do their own music. It's a form I've never seen in Kpop, but it's also musically amazing. There's one more important thing. They compose their songs. Soyeon compose all of the title songs(LATATA, HANN, Senorita, Uh-Oh, Oh My God, DumDi DumDi) But Other members can also compose. Minnie compose 'Blow Your Mind' and 'i'M the TREND' with Yuqi. Miyeon still learn composing and she wants to include songs in the album soon.

I think you would really enjoy the shows "Queendom" (Mamamoo and (G)-Idle participate, among other great groups) and "Road to Kingdom" ( ONEUS was there). For each week they had to create complete performances for a given theme, including concept, choreo, arrangement... There were really great acts! Hwasa and Minnie did an amazing cover of "wish you were gay". "Put It straight" by (G)I-DLE as othr people mentioned is also mindblowing.

If you like Lion the most you have to watch the live stage on Queendom, the song was written for the show and first performed there. I love the stage version a lot! But maybe on your own time because I think it’s prone to be blocked. And if you like Soyeon maybe look at her solo stuff (Jelly, Idle song) or her performances on the show Unpretty Rapstar :) Miyeon und Soyeon are also part of another concept group KD/A, the song Superstars is worth checking out.

I wanna shout out how brilliant Soyeon's rap in Uh-Oh is lyrically: it references how early on in her trainee period people wouldn't take her seriously as an idol because of her appearance "you were just looking for what glittered" when her talent is what will "lift this place up". Uh-oh feels like a diss track for everyone who doubted any of the members could be successful and its amazing.

(G)-IDLE is under CUBE Ent. alongside CLC. They are pretty big. Minnie and Yuqi's voices are may favorite but I am a HUGE Shuhua bias. Not because of her talent, but OMG SHE IS SUCH A SAVAGE! XD There's a bunch of videos of her just being so non-chalant and savage as hell. She's hysterical.

Another good trio of videos from (G)I-DLE I'd recommend are Blow Your Mind, I'm The Trend and Put it Straight (nightmare or original versions) they're all great and two of them were written by Minnie and Yuqi, great analysis as always!

YAS!! You finally reacted to more (G)I-DLE videos. I was (still am) a MooMoo, stanning them for almost four years now but then I slowly became a Nevies as well (GIDLE’s fan) these past few months, partly because of Queendom (both Mamamoo and (G)I-DLE were in it and it’ll be great if you reacted to their performances there). Both Minnie and Miyeon is actually the main vocalist, but like you, I didn’t really notice Miyeon’s vocal too much at first - bcs Minnie’s voice is too unique and captivating. But once you watch their live performances I think you can tell that Miyeon’s vocal is superb.
