Folk music in a modern wrapping really appeals to me. 🤸Since you're a dancer, I suggest that you check out another music video by this same band, which might appeal to you. 🎶 The music style of this other song with the title "Hemnarsverdet" is more of a pure folksong instead of folk-rock. The story behind the song is a folk tale about a man that comes to a gathering where he's well received and his deed is to revenge the murdering of his own father that happened some time back. This man asks his sword for help with the revenge, but it turns out that the sword acts on its own and kills not only the murde, but even totally innocent people just happening to be there, such as a woman and a child. The sword is begged to stop by the man that seeked his revenge, and it stops by the name of God, otherwise it would keep killing and not even save the man holding the sword either, it says ⚔️. The traditional dance that you see is called "Halling", that derives from the valley of Hallingdal and is an old traditional and acrobatic dance, that actually was regarded as sinful dance by some people in the past as it turned out that many murders happened between the young battling male halling dancers. Actually, if you've seen the winning song of Eurovision 2009, "Fairytale" by Alexander Rybak, then you've seen this type of Halling dance before. 🎻 The fiddle that you see in this music video is the "Hardingfele", (played by the musician that sits on the stairs. I'm not pointing towards the "key fiddle/key harp" which is another instrument used for this song, played by the standing musician in this video). The "Hardingfele" is our national instrument that derives from the area called Hardanger from the 1600s (and therefore is referred to in English as the "Hardanger fiddle"). This type of fiddle differs from other types of fiddle that you find abroad. Visually it's usually beautifully and heavily decorated and has a little different shape and size, different lenghed strings and different number of strings (8 or 9 strings including the four resonance strings, which the regular 4 stringed fiddles and violins lack). The sound is therefore different, also being tuned higher. The Hardanger fiddle was in fact banned in the past for a period in more (fundamentalistic) religious areas in the 1800s and musicians had their instruments burned, as it was regarded that playing this instrument could put people in the state of trance and lead to bad things that was the work of the devil himself. People often got drunk and started fighting during the gatherings. The Hardanger fiddle was referred to as the devils instrument and some kept playing this instrument in secret. Things are very different nowadays that this instrument and folkmusic is played even in church 🎻🎶😁.

This is "GÅTE",(Enigma), this is the real thing! This is "ULVEHAM",(WULF SKINNWALKER), this is Champions League! 😊😊😊All the other contestants,I am sorry to say,belong to 3.Division.😢😢😢 May be I am biased,I have grown up with folksongs and folkinstruments. 🎉🎉🎉Gunnhild is singing,chanting in our ancient microtonal style and musicsians are following up in their irregular tonality. It all creates a living body of puretuned,magical sound. 🎉🎉🎉They create something new out of the beginning chant. The chorus is an improvised creation of the same. It is our living,ancient music style fusioned with HARDROCK!🎉!🎉!!!

Thanks for this awesome reaction🙏🥰 The song is inspired by a medieval folklore, a dark one. The intro is an old “kulokk”.
