The thing with Theon is he was essentially Stark's prisoner. They did raise him but if his father tried to rebel again Ned would kill Theon. Essentially he was in the same position as Sansa in King's Landing except Starks treated him better So I definitely understand Theon's resentment towards Starks

he lives in a world where blood family is sooo important. the starks treated him good, and then he goes home to hypocrites and malice. his dad is salty he lost a war that they started and theon pays for it, it's actually quite sad.

No, listen, I understand that he was a 'prisoner' but c'mon now, the Starks treated him like family. They cared for him like he was their own. Rob thought of him as a brother. Theon even says "My real father died south" referring to Ned. They are his true family and I'm 100% sure that Ned would've NEVER killed him. Balon Grayjoy is just a greedy fool and whatever happened was a consequence of his own stupid actions. It's like when Theon went back 'home' he forgot all the values that the Starks taught him and he turned against them because why? To be accepted by such a disgusting man? It just wasn't worth it. But as the person above says, they live in a world where blood family is SO important so I guess he got it all messed up in his head, and boom - catastrophe. It's a pity, really.

@@thetargaryenbride Your comment is based on an assumption that Ned wouldn't kill him but I think Ned would do his duty as he saw it no matter how hard that would be. I agree with what you said about Balon. He's horrible. But also even without killing Theon definitely didn't feel fully part of Stark family. He felt like he didn't belong. So when he came back home he saw it as a chance to finally have that sense of belonging. I'm not trying to justify any of his actions based on that but I empathize with his feelings towards both Starks and Greyjoys.

Idk if you were told but the actors of Jon Snow and Ygritte fell in love while filming and it's so wholesome because you can see the chemistry between them. It gives my heart hope LMAO but cremation is the wildling and also targaryen way of a death ritual. Wildlings do it because of the walkers so when they die they don't rise again. Targaryens do it for the aesthetic.

39:48 During times like these, it was common for ppl, especially children to be prisoners of war/rebellion. Theon was one. He was forced to live in Winterfell as a child, growing up as part of their community. He has a lot of complicated feelings in regards to who his loyalties lie with. Yes the Starks are nice to him but it doesn't change the fact that they are/have been enemies of his family for a while and his wardens

The best part of this show is the character development we get from multiple characters. ❤️ I love Brienne’s characters and the part where she swears her loyalty to Lady Catelyn and vice versa is one of my favorite scenes. Hey, if you ever feel like watching The hunger games series I will tell you. There are a few people from game of thrones in there who you have already met. Our girl Marjorie plays Cressida and a girl brand of tarth plays another lady whose name I cannot for the life of me. Remember, but there's a lot of people from Harry Potter who are in game of thrones and vice versa. That's what you get for having mostly British casts. There's a lot of overlap
