Conway is actually older than Kendrick. Most people associate thoughts of depression and anxiety with Kendrick because he's very recent, but many rappers have done the same. Biggie and "Suicidal Thoughts" is EXTREMELY influential. Although, not many rappers reference....but EVERYONE knows of it. It's kind of a blindspot.

This album was heavy and had me surprised when I first listened to it. Without a doubt one of the best rap albums I’ve heard this decade so far. I kinda get strong Illmatic vibes from the album especially with how personal and raw Conway’s lyricism is to be honest. And I’m really glad you’re finally getting into Griselda for the first time. So I thought I’d share some Griselda albums I think you’ll enjoy. Westside Gunn: - Hitler Wears Hermes Series (I personally think 7, 8: Sincerely Adolf, & 8: Side B are the best in there) - Supreme Blientele - 10 (although it’s still part of the HWH Series, it’s still amazing as a standout album) Conway the Machine: - From King To A GOD - La Maquina Benny the Butcher: - Tana Talk 3 - Tana Talk 4 - The Plugs I Met 1 & 2 And to tie it all up, I recommend listening to their WWCD album as a whole. Lots of amazing and gritty stuff that each and every one of them can have and still be just as amazing.

You should definitely check out Hell Hath No Fury by Clipse at some point Bob! Clipse is comprised of Pusha T and his brother No Malice and it was produced by Pharrell Williams' and the Neptunes. The beats are my favourite of any album Pusha has ever worked on, and the rapping is fantastic

Highly recommend Boldy James's Manger on Mcknickles. The instrumentals were produced througout 13 years and many of the verses were older before boldy came out of jail to re record. 44:58 It was their reality though, sadly. People always talk about how rappers shouldn't rap about that type of stuff, but it's how they grew up. They're telling personal stories, and Griselda does it in a way to make you realize that it's not all fun and games. People go to jail, people get killed, the ones you grew up around aren't around years later because of the above mentioned jail and killings. It's not really braggadocios. For example, Benny says in 'Sunday School' that "I saw a brick turn to a pot full of gold. Over that? Spent my daughter's first birthday locked in a hole." Referencing that he was in jail when his daughter turned one year old and he couldn't be there. There's other rappers however that will do nothing but brag about how dope the life is, but these guys give you the realness of it. It's not all sunshine and rainbows. Sure, you can make money, but you might also lose your life or spend your life in prison for it. That's why these dudes started going hard with the rap. Chinegun (Benny's older brother) died, Conway got shot in the head leaving half of his face paralyzed, so at that point they decided to move away from the gang shit and channeled all of their energy into music.
