Portugal never disappoints ❤💚 This song is beautiful and it wasn't even in my top 7 of FdC, this proves Portugal has a great selection ! I'm so prouf of Portugal without being Portuguese for sending quality every year. My personal favourites were Teorias da Conspiração, Água and Pontos Finais but Grito is incredible too. I hope we'll see Portugal in the final again. Really love your analysis anyway 😊

So glad you liked Portugal's entry so much. With the new qualification system (100% televote), making it through confortably will always be a struggle for Portugal. Only one neighbour and a small but loyal diaspora will always hurt Portugal's chances. But the recent results show that there is an audience for the editorial line Portugal follows, and hopefully it carries us through to the final. I hope the 100% televote semi finals don't last long. It doesn't make sense to change the rules and judge songs differently within the same competition. I feel like the rule has already impacted the show negatively and will continue to do so

There is always songs about depression and menta helath but this. This is different. I have been in mental struggels for years and usually dont feel these tyes of songs. Here i feel it. I belive Iolanda is going through this, it feels nearly to inimate to watch as it looks like self soothing with the lullaby quality to it. But it is an absolute masterpiece.

The reason why the 50% jury vote was introduced in the first place was to limit the "neighbour favouring neighbour" type of vote. Unfortunately the general public does not analyse a song the way that you so well do. So just being dependent solely on the televote, I'm not sure if Portugal will be able to qualify as we hope. I feel hopeful about Portugal qualifying tbh, especially after last year. They had their back against the wall in many ways but still qualified and had pretty much 0 "friends" in that semi. You said it all already. I would just add that I think it is also related to her struggle in the music field. She was not qualified to "The Voice", only because she was anxious. Please search for "Iolanda Costa The Voice". She was younger and fragile dealing with her emotions. It was really sad to see her crying in the end. She has been in a process to manage her insecurities and she is so powerful now ❤️

I would be very sad if this doesn't make it to the final. Beautiful song. And I think it will Q, but honestly, like borderliner (9-10th position) in semi 1. So, we only wait for 🇦🇿 song. And for now I think that Q will be CRO🇭🇷, UKR🇺🇦, LIT🇱🇹, FIN🇫🇮, IRL🇮🇪, SLO🇸🇮, SRB🇷🇸, POL🇵🇱, POR🇵🇹 (really hope so), and AUS🇦🇺 or AZE🇦🇿 (depends on Azeri's song). Didn't know it was 100% televote in the semifinals (is it a rule for this year onwards?).
