Snape was the bravest man in Harry's eyes because Snape constantly put himself in mortal danger to protect him and the others from Voldemort. At the beginning, Snape was a faithful servant during his youth, but after Lily became targeted (which the movies do NOT reveal that it was Snape who told Voldemort of the prophecy about his eventual demise, although Snape didn't know it referred to Harry, and Lily), he regretted his actions. Sure, Snape was a bully (in the books, his bullying towards the Gryffindor students, and particularly, Harry and Hermione was WAY WORSE), but his courage and bravery was far stronger than his mean streak. Hell, Snape genuinely regretted adopting the pure-blood supremacy views. In the books, one of the portraits in Dumbledore's office referred to Hermione as a "Mudblood" and Snape angrily told him to not call her that word. Snape sacrificed everything to make sure that Voldemort would meet his end.

I think Snape never learned to cope with all rage he had, caused by being a misfit and badly bullied. That lead him to become a Death Eater, because like criminal gangs do, they gave a false feeling of brotherhood and being accepted. After he started to hunt Lily, he no longer felt he belonged there either. But to be back at Hogwarts would not really help him get rid of his bad memories, wouls they? Especially after Harry showed up. Hogwarts had caused trauma, and now he was supposed to teach there. Snape was acting horribly, but he was never a free man. Never a free man of all crap from schoolyears, never free from the sorrow Lilys death, never free of the guilt of exposing the prophecy that caused her death... and never free of pain and hate. But... Dumbledore knew he could be trusted. He would not trust a highly ranked Death Eater if he did not see good in him. And he trust him with a lot, and Snape delivered.

You're not the only one to misunderstand Dumbledore. And that's largely the movie's fault which is quite foggy about some things. Firstly, at that hilltop dialogue, Snape didn't behave really well. It was obvious to Dumbledore - and the reader - that he only cared about saving Lily, he didn't give a damn at that point about the lives of James and Harry. Dumbledore even told him at that point "you disgust me". But he knew how much the cause could gain if he could get Snape on his side and he used the situation to gain his loyalty for the greater good. Yes, he did raise Harry for slaughter, but what choice did he have? As long as that part of Voldemort's soul was inside Harry, Voldemort could not be killed. But in the same time Dumbledore knew that Voldemort cannot possibly kill Harry, he knew it from the end of Goblet of Fire. Ignorant as he was, Voldemort took into his own body a bit of Harry's blood and with that also a tiny part of Lily's protection, keeping it alive. Meaning that of all the people in the world Voldemort became the only one who couldn't possibly kill Harry. Harry never really died, when Voldemort used the Avada kedavra, both he and Harry were briefly knocked out and the only thing that died was Voldemort's part of soul - well, I say died, but actually it became trapped in limbo between life and death. In order to be able to pass on into the afterlife, one's soul must be whole and intact. Of course,it would have been nicer if Dumbledore could have told all of this to Harry or Snape but he couldn't because there was the risk of Voldemort reading their minds. Also, Harry had to go to the forest with the intention of sacrificing himself for everyone else. By doing so, he provided everyone at Hogwarts with the same protection that his mother gave him when she sacrificed herself for him. The Resurrection Stone wasn't meant to keep Harry alive. Its role was to bring back the ghost-like figures of his parents, Sirius and Lupin to ease his self sacrifice. One of the points of this story is that death is final and unavoidable, and it's a bad idea to fight against it. No spell can reawaken the dead for real. Master of death doesn't mean immortal or invincible. It means that he accepts that he must die and knows that there are far worse things in the living world than dying.

In the end of the fourth book Dumbledore gets happy when he finds out that Voldemort takes Harry's blood to bring his body back. At that point Dumbledore knew that if Harry had to die as long as Voldemort did it he would have a chance to come back, he was only guessing about the horcruxes until book six when he finally got slughorn's memory proving that he was correct on his hunch.

The death of Dumbledore's sister took place when aberforth Dumbledore's brother and Dumbledore as well as Grindelwald were in a fight, one of their spells hits Ariana killing her. Dumbledore always blamed himself leaving it was his spell but no one actually knew. The reason why in the first movie and book never gets those 10 points for standing up to his friends, is because Dumbledore could never stand up to Grindelwald the one person that he loved, and that was his best friend as well.

Unpopular opinion, but I never understood why people always think that McGonagall would have lost. Like she has much more experience than Snape, survived multiple wars, was a member of the Orden of Phoenix, was actually Snapes teacher back in the day, and did other impressive stuff in the book. Don't get me wrong, Snape is no pushover, but I think she can kick ass too😂

Oh, man.... seeing Fred lying on the floor in the Great Hall dead is heartbreaking, especially seeing Ron break down in tears. (Hearing that Harry had to sacrifice himself to give them a chance of defeating Voldemort and the Death Eaters didn't help that grief.) Also, I was at the midnight premiere of The Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 3D. The scene where Mrs. Weasley took out Bellatrix got a massive cheer from the audience. 6 points I've made in the past regarding Harry Potter: 1. The prophecy Professor Dumbledore mentioned in Professor Snape's memory that mentioned a baby born at the end of July was partially true. There were actually two: Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. They were born in the same month and year, but Neville is only 1 day older than Harry. (Neville: 30 July 1980, Harry: 31 July 1980.) Voldemort had chosen to target a then 15-month-old Harry, thus marking him as his equal. Neville lived a life free of that fear with his grandmother, despite the constant painful reminder of his parents being permanently admitted to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries after being tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange. 2. After the Battle For Hogwarts, George Weasley could never cast the Patronus Charm again, since it relies on your happiest memory to work, and literally ALL of his happy memories involved his deceased twin brother Fred. Most likely for a while, until he married Angelina Johnson and named his son after his twin. (According to The Wizarding World website) 3. Voldemort's death after his battle with Harry wasn't supposed to look like he got snapped out by Thanos, and it wasn't just them isolated in the courtyard. In the book, Harry and Voldemort battle for the last time in front of everyone else, resulting in Voldemort dying as a mortal man once Neville sliced off Nagini's head, effectively saving Ron & Hermione in the process. 4. Harry didn't snap the Elder Wand in the book version. He mends his original wand (the one he got in Philosopher's Stone from Ollivander's) with it, then returns it to Professor Dumbledore's grave. 5. I give HUGE props to Narcissa for straight-up lying to Voldemort after Harry confirmed that Draco was alive. It shows that neither she nor her son wanted the Death Eater life. 6. That one goblin who stared in shock as the Ukrainian Ironbelly busted through the floor of Gringotts seriously looked a bit like Donald Trump. 😆🤣

From the moment Lily was targeted, Snape belonged to Albus. Snape was a double agent for years, spying on the Death Eaters, conducting espionage and sabotage all for Albus. He then took the post at Hogwarts to protect Harry and remain as close to him as possible. He bullied the students in Gryffindor because he hated the memories of the students from it and it helped him keep his cover so he focused on Ron, Hermione and Harry. He saved Harry during Quidditch Matches on several occasions, gave him hidden tips and left clues that couldn't easily be traced back to him. Snape knew he was going to his death in the end, and knew he wouldn't get to tell Harry the truth or warn him, but his tears could. Also, look at the fight against McGonagall, Snape deliberately deflects her attacks into the two other Death Eaters, knocking them out to protect her and the students. He was always loyal to Albus and to Harry, he played his part better than anyone could have ever imagined.

Lily's patronus was a doe, and because Snape was deeply in love with her, his patronus was also a doe. The thing about the Elder wand having to be obtained by someone who has killed the previous owner was always a myth! If you are able to "win" the wand from that person, either by a contest or even a non-lethal fight, it's allegiance will change to you. Harry's curse at Nagini didn't miss, it rebounded off of the snake because she is a horcrux and his spell wasn't powerful enough to penetrate it. The talk between Dumbledore and Snape where he asks what he would give him in return was Snape's turning back to the "light" and becoming a spy for him and the order. Harry's older son is named James Sirius Potter.

Snape kept the bargain, Dumbledore didn't hold up his end of the deal. Not that protecting members of the Order of the Phoenix should have required payment in the first place; Dumbledore should have protected them because it was the right thing to do, and because he was able to do so. He just wanted to manipulate Snape into being a pawn in his service.

So the reason why Dumbledore was buried with his wand is I believe if I'm not mistaken that will usually happen with most Wizards when they die. In his case he knew that the power of the Elder Wand would die with him because he planned his death with Severus, so Severus never actually won the wand. Unfortunately, Malfoy changed all that when he disarmed Dumbledore taking possession of the Elder one at that point. At the end you see him break the older one and throw it over the cliff, in the book he actually keeps the one and he repairs his and then takes the Elder Wand and puts it back in the Dumbledore's grave believing that if it's never one off of him it would die then eventually and would never be good again. Unfortunately, he becomes a dark wizard catcher so there's a good chance that that could be one off of him. So in the movie I do like how they did that, however in the book I think the final battle between Harry and Voldemort was better in the book because of how Harry was basically taunting Voldemort and telling them exactly how he's going to lose if he doesn't change his ways.

The prophecy referred to a boy born in July. It was a double. Prophesies are vague, and can refer to alot of people. Neville Longbottom was also born in July and shared the same history as Harry Potter. Voldemort himself set the prophecy in stone himself honing in on Harry instead of Neville. It could have gone either way. And therefore also that much satisfying when Neville chops Nigini in the end.

The reason why Lily and Severus actually never got together was while they were at Hogwarts, I forget exactly what year they were in but they got into a heated argument and he called her a mudblood and at that point they broke off relations or lily did. But Severus always loved her and never stopped

I totally agree with your comments about Dumbledore made to look untrustworthy and sort of cruel. The movies don't even come near enough to doing justice to the character, at least except for the first 2 movies. According to the books, Dumbledore always had a calm demeanor, even when he faced Voldemort on the 5th year. His knowledge and power were just too great compared to basically everyone else in the current time frame, even Voldemort didn't even come near. Also, when he revealed to Snape that Harry must die, he already knew that Harry wouldn't actually die. This is foreshadowed in the 4th book when Harry tells him that Voldemort used his blood in the process of recreating his body and is also explained in the station after Harry's "death". So all in all while Dumbledore is made to look sort of cruel and apathetic in the movies, the reality according to the books is he was always several steps ahead from everyone else, he just chose to withhold certain information and in most cases with good reason.

There were two factors that prevented Harry from being killed fully. The biggest one was, that Harry was, at that point, the owner of all three Deathly Hallows, making him the master of death. The wand was his even if he didn’t realize it yet. Which leads me to the second reason, a wand cannot be used to kill its own master unless it’s won by someone in battle and therefore becomes theirs. Dumbledore wouldn’t if sent Harry to his death without plans in place.

One of the dumb things they left out of the movies was an explanation about the mirror. It was a Christmas gift fron Sirius to Harry and was meant to be a way for them to communicate. Harry accidentally broke his and only had the shard.

12:25 They're in the Room of Requirement. No one can hear them if they want the room to be soundproof. Well you were right about Harry being a horcrux but the movies made it too easy to figure out. In the books Harry couldn't feel the horcruxes. He already had an idea what they were from the memories (way more in the books) he and Dumbledore examined about Voldemort. He could see some of Voldemort's thoughts and feelings but not the other horcruxes. James didn't "steal" Lily from Snape. Snape ruined that relationship himself by the friends he had, his fascination with dark magic and he called Lily a mudblood in anger. Dumbledore knew Harry couldn't be killed by Dumbledore ever since Voldemort used Harry's blood carrying Lily's protection to create a new body. Voldemort became similar to a positive horcrux for Harry that tethered him to life as long as Voldemort was alive. Dumbledore made sure Harry learned everything he needed to survive.

The prophecy could've applied to either Harry or Neville. Voldemort chose Harry because he felt an affinity to him; both had half blood parents. Dumbledore did keep his promise, he hid the Potters... But they chose Pettigrew as their secret keeper, ie "they put their faith in the wrong person," considering Pettii told Voldemort where they were hiding. I think Snape's bravery came from being a double agent, Voldemort would've killed him if he had known. And he even died rather than confess that he wasn't the wand's true owner (assuming he knew that.). And even as he was dying he made sure to give Harry his memories so that Harry would have all the information he needed revealed to him. Snape wasn't a good guy but he was a brave one. Harry had other kids whose names were jumbled together from other characters, i can't remember if Sirius was amongst them; i hope it was.

The Princes Tale, the chapter in the book, is a gut wrenching chapter. It was in the last book. A lot was left out of the movie, especially Dumbledores and Harry’s conversation in King Cross. A lot was left out as well as what happened to the Elder Wand, it wasn’t snapped in half that was a movie contrivance, a more elegant solution in the book.

Snape was brave for the same reason Narcissa Malfoy was. They LIED to Voldemort, a naturally gifted legellimens. In the books, the scene where Albus first met Tom Riddle, he capslocks "TELL THE TRUTH" to Dumbledore. The first magic Wizard kids do are things they are naturally good at. For Voldemort that meant mind reading and torture, lol. Albus Severus got that name because Harry blew both James and Sirius (JS Potter on the luggage) on his for son.

The books showed that Snapes and Lily were closer in the book, but then Snapes did a couple things. And Lily help changed James. Also, in the book it turned out the James saved Snapes life which pissed him off. Now that you have seen the movies you should read the books. Are you going to watch the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary show and/or The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Which occurred decades before Harry was born.
