I really like it when a group of Hololive members give themselves a fun name for their group. The six members performing this song go by the name "Star Animal" (スターアニマル). Three of them have names related to stars or the sky ("Sora" means "sky". "Hoshimachi" means "street of stars". "Suisei" means "comet". "Oozora" means "the wide open sky". "Subaru" is the Japanese name of the Pleiades star cluster.), and four of them are animals (Subaru is considered to be a duck. Polka is a fennec fox. Koyori is a coyote. Chloe is an orca.). The group also recently did a collab event as the closer to Koyori's 24-hour stream earlier this week. On an unrelated note, the cover of Monster on Mio's channel is a different song. The song on Mio's channel is a song originally performed by Arashi, a popular Japanese boy band from about a decade ago and was the theme song for a drama that starred one of the band's members. The original song had been on my playlist for ages, and seeing the OKFAMS cover on my KZbin recommendations one day was the hook that finally dragged me fully down into this rabbit hole.

The funny part of this line up is Subaru is the only "prey" in this predator-like lineup. We have a goddess(Sora), a psychopath (Suisei), an orca(Chloe), a coyote(Koyori), a fennec(Polka), and then we have Subaru a duck. The prey is hiding in the group of predators lmao.

Subaru was really nervous about this cover, because she felt out of place, getting lined up with all these people she look up to in terms of singing prowess. And on top of that, the girls recorded their parts seperately so she didnt know how it would turn out. However, because of that, and that she gave it her all to try to reach for the stars. she totally suprised all the other girls and it just became a banger. Subaru went above and beyond what anyone expected from her.

When you see a music/cover collab from any of the members, you know it will be pure fire. You have here many of the strongest voices of Hololive, even when some are quite new, you can see the godlike combo here, they really know what people to bring and make a great song/cover. 5:22 You can clearly see how he starts to melt into the chair. Subaru had tons of range, but if I remember correctly, she cannot sing changing her voice too much now, she did it before but the method she use to gain a lot or vocal range hurt her voice/vocal cords (Was a long time so correct if I'm wrong), jokingly Subaru's voice is so loud that maybe that's the reason, she is the loudest person in the world, so loud that her body cannot handle her power and had to use a limiter so people could hear her normally, btw when she streams she always stays away from the mic or it will destroy your ears (That's not a joke).

I hope you do not mind me adding some info on the Subaru part. What you said is all true, but I think some more informations might be interesting for someone still discovering them. Subaru actualy tested her voice's loudness with an app to see how many decibels she would reach. She reached 90 decibels, which is extremely high. Let's see some comparisons... Whispers are usualy around 30 decibels, a normal conversation is about 60 decibels and a train is around 95 decibels. Keep in mind decibels are logarithics, so a train is around 4x louder than her voice. Just to better illustrate how loud she is, both her and Mio told their viewers that, during a recording at the company HQ, she was in a soundproof room, Mio was 2 doors down the hall door closed and she could her Subaru throught the soundproof room. That's not something that usualy happens even with the cheapest corporate soundproof rooms, but she did it. And she didn't do it only once, she also did the same at Okayu's place once and when Watame soundproofed her streaming room, she asked Subaru to test it and, once again, she heard it throught the room. That's how loud she is. There is another joke about Subaru's voice that I think you'll now be able to understand. When she talk, she is a duck, when she try to do ASMR, she's dying Goku, but when she sing, she become a swan.

Hearing Subaru among all these other girls and recognize her voice is a huge props to her. Shortly after this cover was released Subaru was doing a chill stream and talked about how embarrased she was for doing that solo part after Suisei and if it came out good or not. Your recommended ones, should be the gamers of Hololive, Okayu-Mio-Korone-Fubuki and I do not remember if Subaru was as well, doing Monster again. Aside from that K/DA cover, Bae also released an original M/V called "Psycho" . As for older recommendations, how about : -"Hikaru Nara" cover of Chloe-Lui-Towa(sama)-Robocco-Mel. In Towa's channel. -2 Startend covers from Aqua-Towa-Suisei, in Aqua's channel. 3 completely different voices here. -Reine and Risu doing both sides of "Kakumei Dualism" from the anime "Kakumeiki Valvrave", just like how Calli and Watame did their songs. -More IRyS is always welcome as well. -What about NePoLaBo as well?!? Ne from Nene, Po from Polka, La from Lamy and Bo from Botan. They have done collabs either for covers or originals but I don't remember which of their channels have them.

My first Watame's song is Yoasobi Kaibutsu(Monster) cover, then, I become her fan. When I hadn't heard her sing before, I think she just a fuwafuwa character , did not expect she has a powerful voice (very difference between she talking voice)

Subaru has a famous cover song of "Do My Best" but it's quite short, but she also has an original song and a cover song of "Koi no Mahou", some people don't like her voice and calls it somewhat annoying or loud, but I like her boyish voice very much, plus her body language is very feminine

This is an incredibly good cover, HoloPro group songs always hit, it's amazing. Their voices mash so good, it's unreal. More Subaru in songs is always appreciated. (What you got recommended are likely fan mash-ups of karaoke versions, as the Hololive members have sung Monster a lot of times in their streams.) Getting pointed out the actual song, it's actually a different song called Monster, that OKFAMS covered for Halloween. Still there are a few studio covers of this Monster though, for example Watame did one. For another great group song, I highly recommend the cover of Monster Dance by the Holostars members Astel, Rikka, Shien and Izuru, it's a super fun song!

I don't think Chloe is underrated vocal ranges because she reveal her deep tone in her early days after her debut and did a lot of cover with her deep and high tone. And she perform her song ft DECO*27 in holofest as well, the one that you've reacted so yeah she well known with her vocal range. But the thing that i mostly like about her is that she really good at putting her emotions to her singing, and her cover "FAKE HUMAN NO.40" is the best example IMO.

Man, I forget the duck actually has vocal range that isn't just yelling. XD Some of these girls seem to genuinely hide vocal talents, be it singing or voice acting, as Subaru usually is just a loud tomboy with a somewhat nasal voice, then when Marine held voice auditions for the game she's been working on, where Miko who sounds like she can't speak clearly and mumble a lot, suddenly had even the other holomems stunned as she sounded VERY different... Similar with Subaru in this song, you almost can't tell it's her. :P

Yeah! One of my favorite covers in all of Hololive! I've listened to this so many times that like 1000 of the views on the original video are probably just from me alone. Another cover that I think you would really like (and also one of my favorites) is Suisei's cover of "Crybaby". If you want to see more from Koyori, I would recommend her first original "WAO". The song is just a bop and is really fun to listen to! Mio also has a song with a similar name, called "Wan Wan Waon". I've been listening to this song a LOT as of late. I would really like to see a reaction to this one! I don't want to spoil what it's like, so I'll just say this about it: The song is unique in the best way possible!
