The combat in Honkai Impact is action combat with character swapping and all of that. The combat in Honkai: Star Rail is turn based. Honkai Impact and Honkai: Star Rail are two different games with minimal but not insignificant crossover in the story

Hold my beer, Honkai 3rd's gameplay is not turn based, it's Honkai Star Rail that has turn based gameplay, Honkai 3rd has a full action gameplay, just like Genshin. The difference is that Honkai 3rd is instanced, not open world, has some modes with more open maps but there is no world map like Genshin, and the maps are smaller than the Honkai Star Rail ones. Anyway the next one is another extreme emotional rollercoaster.

Nah the gameplay of HI3 is powering through a visual novel with increasingly more difficult to comprehend text even before localization issues, with an occasional novelty game mechanic where you play Valkarye Dash, Fall Gals, Moths vs Honkai Zombies, etc. as chibi characters, and to increase your gacha currency, you spam big numbers on the screen with no clue what's happening. 😂

This is the culmination of Kiana's story arc. The dialogue that happens before this boss fight made me cry so much. There's also a lot of callbacks to previous songs in this one. "I will never go" parallel's "Never let you go" that is part of Nightglow's (Final Lesson) chorus. "There's a way back home" parallel's "Waiting for the chance to find a way back home" that is said in Rubia (Shattered Samsara). "Brighter than tomorrow or yesterday" parallel's "I want no tomorrow or yesterday" in Starfall (Meteoric Salvation). And of course, To Protect Everything that is Beautiful is Himeko's valkyrie motto. "May all the beauty be blessed." The lyrics hit really hard and fits the story thus far so well.

For the next video I recommend watching the video "New arc trailer [Pre-Revelation]" followed by "Thus spoke Apocalypse". they go hand in hand and the animation comes after the pre-revelation trailer. that said, Moon Halo was indeed sung by the Chinese voice actors for Kiana, Bronya and Mei. The way you put it on how it carries such an emotional weight to it is what makes people, even you, who don't understand the story quite yet come to tears. it's why I can't sing it because the emotional weight overcomes me every time. This animation was also made during the pandemic so when I saw that little note at the end "May the fires of hope always guide us", it got to me too. I hope you continue to enjoy your journey down the remaining animations and definitely hope you have fun playing the game.

Tetracalyx has been the VA for Raiden Mei in GGZ, but these days she is primarily one of the main songwriters for HI3. And the only relevant thing Chalili has done that I'm aware of was singing Reburn.

In my opinion, this arc of Honkai was the best story writing I've ever seen from Hoyoverse. Following the trend of the last few vids, next one from here will be: ★Animated Short [Thus Spoke Apocalypse]★ - Honkai Impact 3rd but also watch ★New Arc Trailer [Pre-Revelation]★ - Honkai Impact 3rd beforehand. Same as when you did Shattered Samsara and Reawakening. One thing that I want to say before next week, since many people who don't have context get confused, the girl with white hair in Thus Spoke Apocalypse is not Kiana, but someone named Kallen. Everlasting Flames, as well as Moon Halo, are both the culminations of a 25-chapter long journey of growth, determination, and stories of how dark the world can be, and how bright humanity can shine when fighting that dark. It's truly a masterpiece, and everytime I see it I'm just blown away by the amount of weight Hoyo's storytelling has. Their characters are fictional, with absolutely nonsensical elements and a totally impossible world, yet resonate with us, the players, every damn time. If you ever play Honkai Impact 3rd, be prepared for a long, emotional journey, my friend.

茶理理, TetraCalyx, Hanser are the 3 that performed the song. 茶理理 also sings the song Interstellar Journey for Honkai Star Rail. TetraCalyx composed the music if I remember correctly. Hanser is from Virtuareal Stars which is the CN Branch of Nijisanji that has professional stars that also stream as vtubers sometimes as well, she also voices Bronya in the game as well as Silver Wolf in Honkai Star Rail. Hanser also sings other songs for the game.

A fun thing to try maybe in your own time, is if you listen to the soundtracks from previous shorts you've watched, especially focusing on the characters included in this one, then listen to Moon Halo and its lyrics, they're connected. This song is basically Kiana answering the struggles her and her friends went through (sung about in the songs) and giving them more hope. It's probably a big part of why this one is one of the community favourites. As for videos, I think the crowd has said it plenty, but the "Pre-Revelation" trailer and the "Thus Spoke Apocalypse" would be next. The trailer was a short teaser to the arc of the story that ended with "Thus Spoke Apocalypse". This next one is probably one of my personal favourites.

This short and song are indeed epic so u are right they hit so hard. About anime, Honkai Impact has 3 series that are indeed anime. Cooking With Valkyries(2 seasons) is as it sounds, short episodes about cooking food with the cast. ELF Academy(1 season) a fun series about the ELFs,living weapons and their school lives. Golden Courtyard(2 episodes) a fun christmas series following the Flamechasers if they were normal people. I can recommend all three though u best play at least a little of the game to know who is who. As for what next, Becouse of You is a really good animated short though it can be quite confusing without even a little context. I also recommend Veliona's one day adventure, a animation that from a event thats simply hilarious, just make sure u have the english dub version since its in chinese.

@@aprinc987: Yes, the HI tutorials are mostly premium and required for the more powerful battlesuits, while the GI ones are almost always unneccasary; in HI you fail if you're too slow, and I just can't remember any Fu Hua's combos or any of the later Herrschers QTEs and status triggers, while in GI you win (in most cases) if you just don't die, which can be done with a bit of footwork, some shield and a bit of healing. And for Star Rail: it's 90% farming, 9% party composition, and 1% actual combat organizing.

Everlasting Flames never fails in getting me hyped. Such an incredibly intense animation. Also thank you for addressing the playlist thing, it was getting a bit tiring. This animation and Graduation Trip are the ones that pushed me to play the game. Even though I had no idea what was happening in them, just like Luke. I was mesmerized by them to say the least. Graduation Trip, despite not knowing absolutely anything that was happening in it and it being my first time watching it, somehow managed to make me cry. I love seeing Luke go through these blind and have fun in just enjoying the visuals, choreography, music, etc. If he ever plays the game, he'll probably be able to notice details in the animations he didn't notice before. The Pre-Revelation trailer and Thus Spoke Apocalypse would be the next animations and they would be better reacted together. It's one of my favorites, I'm very excited to see your reaction to it!

I had the same reaction. There's so much love in the animation, acting, and music. It was like the video itself was manipulating our heart and causing it to swell at the peaks of the video. I've also never played the game. Because of Final Lesson and everything I've heard, I've been binging the cinematics and lore and just diving into the world. But I would love to play the game for myself someday. Everlasting Flames is a literal game-changer (haha) and although I didn't bawl like I did in Final Lesson, I also had tears. It literally invoked the "flames of hope" and like you said, there's so many final battles we've seen of mc (world deserves to be saved) vs villain (world should be destroyed) but there's not many that can execute itself with so much EMOTION.

Yes, this animation is the one where miHoYo went from excellent animation to some of the absolute best animation I've ever seen in my life. And that's coming from an oldtaku. Yes, these are after a mission. Usually at the end of a roughly three chapter story arc. No, the combat in Honkai is action. The combat in Star Rail is turn based. Star Rail carries the Honkai branding same as Honkai Gakuen 2 does but "Honkai" is Honkai Impact 3rd. In English Honkai Gakuen 2 was called GGZ, not Honkai. Folks who call Star Rail "Honkai" mostly came to Star Rail from Genshin and never played Honkai Impact 3rd, and that's a terrible shame. No, I've never felt more proud of a fictional character than I felt about Kiana in this animation. Our brash, immature, foolish, cocky young girl who wanted to be the best Valkyrie in the world finally reached the maturity and heights she always wanted to. Through all the darkness, tears, pain, loss and doubt, she burned through to light the world like a blazing comet. There are three singers. One of them is Bronya's CN voice actor, Hanser, who also sung Cyber Angel. Some folks will tell you the other two are Fu Hua's and Mei's current VAs, but that's not true. Singers: 茶理理/TetraCalyx/Hanser Funny you should say it sounded like a Vocaloid. 茶理理 is the voice source of a Gen 4 Vocaloid.

This animation short closes up Kiana's arc from her self sacrifice tendencies to one of fighting together with her friends to achieve a better ending for all. This is reflected in multiple aspects. 2 of them are the lyrics of the song and the battlesuit itself The battlesuit playstyle involves her using her own hp to increase her own damage, but she gains a shield that protects her, the shield is like her friends standing with her and protecting her on her path The song lyrics tie itself back to a lot of the previous shorts but i can't remember the exact lyrics for all the references

that is the beauty of these. i felt just the same when i randomly found the final lesson one and became extremally invested without even actually playing the game till this year. probably already mentioned several time, but ill also add, keep in mind Honkai: star rail, the game that is turn based, and honkai impact 3rd, genshin's precursor, are tecnically 2 different games altho both have "Honkai" in the name.....mainly because the devs haven't made any solid connections , yet. as for who the big bad guy is....well...its "honkai", lol; but, i kid you not, 7 years in the making and we the player base still dont fully know what the honkai truly is.

I’ve always seen the animated scenes as conclusions to a series of chapters or arcs within the story. Of course some fall outside of that logic, like the previews. Honkai Impact 3rd is more like a hack and slash, where Honkai Star Rail is turn based. I’d recommend the New Arc Trailer (Pre Revelation) + thus Spoke Apocalypse next. :)

Up until Herrcherr of Sentience (crazy purple phoenix chic), kiana was like the child that though i still cared, was extremelly dissapointed. After that, the dissapointment was gone. This......THIS Story arc, was when i began feeling proud with a dash of regret. Because from this point on, kiana finally stopped being push around by the world and began trying to take a stand for herself (with some help of course). The price for this?...her innocence, her shinning to even blinding personality was muddied, no longer with the shine of a sun, but rather a bright moonlight. Do not let the fire element fool you, there is a reason everyone called her at this point the sad tuna. Because this kiana is basically "depressed" compared to the one at the begining.

Cooking with Valkyries is a side anime made by honkai to deviate ourselves the captain from the continuous depression you'll face in the main story. Basically an side story anime to mend our souls even for a bit. Btw you should react to arc trailer "pre-revelation" next followed by "This spoke apocalypse" back to back since they are related videos.

Honkai Impact 3rd is a spectacle fighter like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry. You were thinking of Honkai Star Rail for the turn-based combat. I hope you don't get these two confused when you start a playthrough 😅 (highly recommend starting with HI3 first since it precedes HSR) Also, only Bronya's CN voice actor (Hanser) is in this song. The rest are TetraCalyx (songwriter and lyricist) and Chalili (indie singer). You can actually see them perform this live in the first concert. About your observation that in each animation it seems like the world is on the verge of apocalypse is correct. "Honkai" itself is a concept of malevolent entropy and Herrschers are supposed to be like riders of the apocalypse. So when one gets born it's a big deal ALL HANDS ON DECK type of stuff. If you've ever watcher Evangelion they are equivalent to Angels.

Not only does _MOON-Halo_ answer the lyrics in every previous short, but the fighting in _Everlasting Flames_ is a mirror to the fighting in _Final Lesson_ , as Kiana inherits everything from Himeko. That's why her battlesuit is called 'Herrscher of Flame _scion_ ' and not 'Herrscher of Flame.' Yes, the song is by the singers for Kiana, Bronya, and Mei. The animated shorts happen at the end of pivotal chapters. Mihoyo doesn't write many characters who are fully good or fully bad, which is part of what makes it so enjoyable. Everyone's got as much potential for good and bad, and equal potential. It all depends on everyone's individual choices.
