You gotta live in our motherland for some years and then listen this again, man. He is not really popular cause its not about vibe, its more about meaning and message, that you can feel with your skin. He spits crazy dirty shit not to just impress, but to show reality through that dirt and reflect. Haski loves to show darkness and look for his poetry in it, not to just jerk on Satan and "Be DiFfErEnT". IMO he is an artist, not just rapper, and its kinda key to russian soul. I will try to explain whats about track "Пироман 17". The main plot is quite simple: one of russian presidents took Russia as a hostage. Husky compares mr.P with a dad who violates (jerk off on) his stepdaughter. Husky in this plot is the one who will literally burn mr.P with his own car and rescue Russia. By the way the most of Husky tracks are about how he hates one specific president and want him to be... ok I am living in Russia so I wont be so specific) i think you understood whats it is all about in his tracks. He's very talented dude(has finished Moscow State University) so thats why (i guess) he is still not in prison or killed.

A portrait of a getting old man in «седьмое октября» is a reference to Putin portrait in a lot of public places and homes. Its easy to understand, president doesn’t changes and a man in a picture remains the same but just getting older. And you can see how fucked up room is (its a ref to Russias condition) but portrait is still there completely safe. So in the end husky takes this picture off the wall and contemplates a beautiful world, thats a kinda little hint everybody can guess. This video has a lot more references and words meaning is hard to understand if you don’t know about some conspiracy theories, news and history of Russia. So i had to watch a dude on youtube decoding each bar of that song and still understood just a half😅

I find your reaction quite funny in places, but you're right - a husky poet. Although he himself (perhaps ironically) calls himself a simple rapper. I really love his work, it is very different from modern popular music, few people listen to this. But if a Russian-speaking person listens to huskies, he deserves respect, he is not stupid. Kenneth my guy, Husky is a rapper that speaks about things that russian citizens are afraid to speak of, many songs have hidden political meanings and he talks about life in Russian small city or village, because life in them is way different from Moscow, most of citizens in those regions are trying to survive because russian government is corrupted. And for speaking about this kind of things he almost got locked up in prison, and whole russian rap community got together to make a concert called "I'm going to sing my music" in order to support Husky. He means a lot for young people in Russia and give them better understanding about what's actually happening in Russia
