I wouldn't want sounds recorded before the round, how quickly and effectively they can build their beat is a huge part of the art of looping. Sometimes its even part of the show, some loopers use it to tease, like what Brez did in his battle against Rythmind.

Exactly, and some people are way better at building the beat in such a way that it isn't boring to the audience. Those ones always stand out to me, the ones who don't have a lot of silence while they record.

i know this wasn't josh o's best performance, but i really enjoyed the drop at 2:55. josh o's tracks have such a vibe to them that i don't hear replicated anywhere else. The ghostly sounding melodies in the first round just enhances this effect

I Personally think most of the loopstation judging comes from the setup, that’s why artists like BizKit and Robin are some of my favorites and some of the best because their setup is so fast and they go straight into the song. 5:09 you’re right by the way, I’ve only saw that once before and that was Robins second round vs KBA I believe in the KBB21. It’s super cool and super fun to see

Thorsen (the GBB 2016 Loop Champ) is very famous for beatbox during looping. Robin in his round vs KBB mentioned that he was going to beat him with a danish technique, that is in reference to Thorsen.

OMG, Matej's fist round reminded me of rapper NF, but with some flavor of being drunk for unknown reason😅. Probably the flow patterns were somehow similar, idk, but I enjoyed it A LOT and at the same time it made me laugh. And he crushed it with this hard EDM drop. And his second round brought me goosebumps and anxiety - everything I like the most! Really deserved win up here. Thanks for this reaction, Dan, i probably wouldn't even watch it if not because of you, but I had so much fun as always! 🖤

Probably the drum patterns, roughly the same with more kicks. Also the lyrics being kinda self centered but not in a bad way, just being about him. I see the NF similarities. It almost sounds like trap-pop remix of NF

I prefer Josh O's rounds so for me he won this battle. I have read on other videos that he had sound issues during the live performance that we can't hear here. Matej's first round is not my cup of tea tbh, I don't like his rapping and especially him trying to be funny "Matej why you rap so good, Matej why you sing so good, Matej why you look so good", sorry bro you don't.
