Just a quick note: Giannis doesn’t even need to win MVP, because as long as he just wins DPOY, he’ll be the first and only player in NBA history to have at least 2 MVPs and 2 DPOYs. Adding a 3rd MVP would obviously be insane though

I think the main factor Jimmy didn't consider was winning. He brought it up for Booker but didn't base the argument on it, and it's often why good players aren't considered. Steph and Durant's teams have not been winning which is why they aren't being considered. Weird SGA is but that can also be due to SGA being the new shiny toy. Winning factors into this as much as stats do

I’ve always thought about the lack of Luka/Harden comparisons. Glad you brought it up. They’re play styles are eerily similar too, with a patented stepback, historic deceleration, and playmaking ability. I’d say the difference is Lukas playoff dominance, something we never saw in Harden for the playoffs. Luka is clutch, and somehow gets better in playoffs against tough matchups (Kawhi, PG, CP, Wiggins, Draymond, and Gobert) yet he still is effective in the offense. Also I think he has more time to secure a young team which might allow him to open up to an off-ball game and look a little more like Steph with a team oriented game

As someone who hated Houston Rockets James Harden who hasn’t yet slipped into hating Luka. Luka has been more efficient than Harden, evidence with the PER Luka has right now being the highest ever, Harden made me hate him because he would shoot a ridiculously low FG % and have 40-50 points solely off of free throws and volume. If Luka starts having those games, I’ll probably feel the same way about him as Harden, but he’s shooting with great efficiency and improving his numbers in the playoffs, and I can’t hate on that

Harden hooks into defenders arms intentionally. He intentionally brings the ball down when he drives and wind it up as he shoots. He also jumps into defenders most of the time. Luka mostly just uses his body to shield the ball. They get their fouls differently. Also, Luka is not a mediocre to bad FT shooter.
