so happy you reacted to Ateez they have many type of songs and their choreos are very interesting, they just came out with a new track last week called "Im the One" i would recommend these songs Answer- its a more emotional song but it still hits hard and has impact I'm The One- their newest track is more inspired by American hip-hop with a slight auto tune effect but its also kinda have an RnB vibe Say My Name- its an older track of theirs but it has a intense style and has hip-hop influenced HALA HALA- it has the most hip-hop style but the video for this song shows off their choreo and it has strong vocals Ateez has a very diverse music range but it will always have their signature sound and vibe, I've only recommended songs that will show off their appeals the best but Ateez has many other styles of music like RnB, tropical, EDM, Ballads, electro-pop, and Hip-pop. they are barely a 2 year old group but they have had so much success and really made a name for themselves so i hope u enjoy listening to their music they really are the standard out there right now

@@Dragon_Ball_Fan_Podcast Agree with the recos here. ;) Reposting my comment here too: I'm a multi-fan so I'm so thankful with your reaction video! BTS and ATEEZ are my top two ultimate groups. I also like BlackPink. :) All these 3 groups have a Global Market, with ATEEZ being the youngest (started Oct 2018), so super good choices to react to. ;) BTS Blood, Sweat and Tears introduced me to the world of kpop. There's a lot of story/lore behind this MV (as mentioned in the other comments). But you'd probably like their other more hard-hitting songs like FIRE, NOT TODAY and MIC Drop so I hope you check those out. As for ATEEZ, I really love this new group so much so I'm glad that you are also really impressed with Wonderland. They have lot of hard-hitting title tracks but the top 3 MVs for me would be HALA-HALA, ANSWER and FIREWORKS (I'M THE ONE). And SAY MY NAME too! Oh no, that's 4 already. They also follow a storyline but I think you'd still be able to piece them together when you the other video. Sorry, this became too long! Looking forward to your next reaction video. ;)

To put it simply Blood Sweat & Tears is based on a book called Demian by Hermann Hesse, the song is about young people losing innocence or temptation, as it's also portrayed in the music video (ex: the kissing of the statue, the fallen angel, the drinking of absinthe both in the video and the dance, the painting at the beginning in which Jin stared at, "I knew the grail was poisoned, but I drank it anyway", "But your wings are the devil's. There is a 'bitter' next to your 'sweet'", "My blood, sweat, and tears. My last dance too/My cold breath too. Take it all away", "I want more, more, more"). The song, as well as the album Wings was centered around that theme and other stuff that is better not to mention now so you don't get confused. And they came after the album trilogy The most beautiful moment in life, that portrayed young adults and aspects of youth, so it makes sense to the following album to be around one's lost of innocence/youth.

@@Dragon_Ball_Fan_Podcast for hip hop there is a lot of songs from their previous albums since they originated in rap and hiphop music, I would suggest No more Dream (debut track) to get a hang of where they started and Blackswan is a track from last year that has a little trap feel. Also for hiphop i'd suggest the rapline's unit songs: ddaeng, tear and ugh (if you like lyrics you can check out the explanation videos aswell since WordPlay etc is hard to understand if you're not a korean native speaker). Rm, Suga and J-hope's solo stuff is also I good idea if you like rap and hiphop. For Acoustic feel I'd also recomment Spring day but also Butterfly (one of my faves) and Blue & Grey from their latest album (there is and MTV unplugged for this and some other songs, a cover of Coldplay fix you is a must listen, be careful with copyright tho). Almost forgot the most important part from their hiphop discography, the chypers part 1-4 and hip hop Philips is also a song that I would recommend. Actually I'll find the link for the live performance of that and put it below!

BS&T is definitely a track to get into more when you're deep into BTS' discography. It's a much older track but the lyrics are pretty deep and fall into a bigger storyline BTS has. For more of their music, I highly recommend On (kinetic manifesto film), Mic Drop, Idol (there's a version ft. Nicki Minaj too), Fake Love, Dope, and Black Swan. There's so many more that touch almost every music genre so you're bound to find some you love. And don't forget to turn on the CC on the music videos because the english translated lyrics show up!! Ateez just made a comeback on March 1st, it's called I'm the One. HIGHLY recommend that one. Also, Left and Right by Seventeen is a bop. And Oh My God by (G)-Idle (I think I spelled that right?) Is fantastic.

You should really watch a dance practice for Ateez's wonderland in most kpop mvs they don't show the full choreography. Btw a dance practice for a Kpop less of a practice and more of a finished product and what the choreo is suppose to look like.

I gather you didn't have the closed captions on- they were saying mani mani mani which means more more more. You really can't get the full experience of BTS songs without the lyrics and I wouldn't compare this song with the simplistic chorus of dududu. It's apples and oranges. I'm sad that your friend recommend this as a first song because the video has a whole load of symbolism that you can't be expected to pick up on at first viewing. You might like Fake Love, or if you like hip hop, Mic Drop. It;a hard to know what to recommend as it's a matter of taste.

I completely understand. About a minute into "Blood, Sweat & Tears" I knew that I had made a massive mistake by not having the captions on. just like BTS, ATEEZ has soo many different concepts (a lot of their lead singles are darker w/ heavyy choreo but they have light summery songs like Wave too) a lot of BTS Fans (Army) are also fans of ATEEZ, you will love them both. also you should react to Mamamoo who are the vocal Queens of K-Pop. yes, I can only say you took such a heavy BTS song, for beginners. This song has many symbols and it takes a lot of interpretation to understand its meaning. I recommend for beginners BTS songs like Mic Drop, the song is lighter to start listening to BTS songs. and Thank you for reaction bts

Very nice reaction! Yes, please give BTS a chance, Blood sweat and tears is not a song to listen just for its music, lyrics and video go together and create one of the most complex artistic experiences, You can watch an explanation video for it on Your own time to grasp why it is one of the best BTS songs and why Your friend recommended it. Musically it was made simple on purpose, because everything else around it is overwhelming. But trully ARMY understands that it is not a good choice to start with if You’re listening to BTS for the first time, so it is understandable why You didn’t enjoy it as much as BlackPink let’s say. Most BTS songs have to go together with visuals and (very important) lyrics, which are usually extremely deep, to create a cohesive story and experience. BTS has so many genres and everyone can find what they like, because BTS is so diverse, there is a lot to discover. For very musically strong songs I’d suggest Truth Untold and Your Eyes Tell (they are amazing and have awesome live performances as well, no MVs though). At first maybe try avoiding most pop BTS songs like Dynamite, Boy With Love and DNA, which are very good, but at the same time very mainstream and made to apply for wider audiences. Please check out songs from their latest album BE (they always write and produce songs for their albums, but in this one they did almost everything EVERYTHING themselves, and it’s one of the most vulnerable and intimate expression of feelings and thoughts through art to their fans). My favourite songs in it - Blue&Grey (a song by Taehyung, sad and hopeful, beautiful ballad, words very important there, there is great live performance from MTV unplugged, since the song doesn’t have an official MV), Dis-ease (amazing amazing song by J-Hope, very interesting musically, hip-hop, funk/disco vibes, I think You’d like it, there is no MV nor live performance, so best to listen to it with doolset bangtan lyrics translation pulled out on the website), and lastly Life Goes On (amazing comforting song with a beautiful MV, mostly written by Namjoon, video directed by Jungkook, released to help us feel understood and our emotions to be validated during this difficult time, showing how all the members are living during the quarantine period, filmed in their dorm). I hope You will get a betted picture of why BTS is so special through these songs. They always aim to heal us with their music, spread love, positivity, validation, talk about important problems like mental health, bulying, education system, politics, loving yourself, etc. They use art to express their own deepest thoughts and share them with ARMY in the most beautiful ways possible. They are true artists that put deep meaning into everything they do, and that is why they are so different from most other kpop groups, which are great at making cool music to dance to, but there is nothing deeper there, only flashy effects. I’m not saying they are not as good as BTS, we need all kinds of music, and I myself enjoy a lot of this kind of fun dancing and singing when I’m in a mood for that. Only that with BTS You can create a long term musical relationship which takes care of You in all states of Your life, understands any mood You’re in and comforts You whatever You’re going through. They barely even have any songs about girls or break ups, and that to me was a deal breaker of how much music can actually cover and that it doesn’t have to be all love songs... In music in general the balance is usually like this, if music seems pretty simple, means that there is a lot going on in lyrics and hidden references in a video, if music is very rich, it usually does not even have a music video. OR there is sometimes both going very strong, like in Fake Love. That one is stuffed with poetry, music is pretty rich and visuals are very powerful with an actual set effects (there is almost no CGI in the video, everything's real).

Blood, Sweat and Tears is from their Wings album, which is inspired by a book, "Demian" by Hermann Hesse, its a coming of age type of book. It talks about the loss of innocence, chaos, temptation while entering adulthood. Bts lyrics are very important. Their album trilogies/eras are like series, starting from debut (2013) their albums grow with them. But, starting 2015, they started with the BU (Bangtan Universe) which is a bigger, deeper storyline that is quite complex, because it intertwines throughout these eras since 2015 til now. Its a very deep storyline, Armys love to theorize. They incorporate art, literature, books, storytelling, psychology and many more in their music. Their music can sound like a jam, but the lyrics will make you think. Or they make music that sounds like baby making music, but the lyrics will hurt you instead. But, they always send a positive and important message, They are quite different....also, they have 300+ songs with a variety of genres, includes their free songs and mixtapes, gifts for fans.

Most Kpop MVs have english subtitles, you just have to press the [CC] button. Especially BTS' lyrics are very important to fully appreciate the song, they are lyrical geniuses. You would've also noticed that they are not singing "money" but "more (많이)". Their last album for example was "map of the soul: 7" and is inspired by the psychologist book the map of the soul by Murray. 4. The army love them because they are good people who through a lot of bad things to be where they are now, and even being famous they stay humble. 5. They have a lot of genres but their base is very hiphop / rap. Also you can find subtitles in every possible language thanks to the fans, u only need to search with the name of the song or Activate cc. 6.they are not only the biggest K-pop group in the world,they are the biggest group in the world.Yesterday announced as the winners of the IFPI Global Artist Chart for 2020.Taylor Swift was 2nd,Drake 3rd.Esquire Magazine recently named BTS as one of the top ten pop groups of ALL TIME. **Bts always present themselves as a Korean group, and always said they don't want to be labeled in a genre or industry. I'm not Atiny (ateez fandom's name) but seeing you decided to react to ateez for the first time listening to kpop is make me happy because many newbie kpop fan will react to top group like BTS or Blackpink (ofc they have good quality of musics that's why they go international), but as you can see kpop music has many different genre, different charm, different type of music that BTS and Blackpink don't have like ateez. I hope you could decided to be a kpop fan and dive deep into kpop music that have different charm on it. Hi! If you like more of a hip hop/edm-ish type of vibe for bts I would recommend black swan, mic drop and fake love, ugh and daechwita (which is a solo project of one of the members) are also a must. If you would rather listen to some ballads I would recommend spring day, the truth untold (live stage) and, if I’m not sure you could define it a ballad, life goes on is really good too. I would most definitely recommend to put CC on when you listen to bts songs since most bts’s songs have really meaningful lyrics. I’d say that blood sweat and tears is kinda of a weird song to start off by since it’s full of symbolism that is really hard to grasp unless you have been following the guys for a while, but since bts have such a variety in genres and styles I feel safe to say that there is something for everyone and I am sure you’ll find a lot of songs that’ll soothe your taste😊 Also other songs to check out from ATEEZ are “fireworks (I’m the one)”, “say my name”, “hala hala” and “pirate king”. “wave” and “illusion” are also worth checking out😌 they are some extremely talented guys and have a lot of cool songs and concepts, I hope you’ll check more from them too! I'm a multi-fan so I'm so thankful with your reaction video! BTS and ATEEZ are my top two ultimate groups. I also like BlackPink. :) All these 3 groups have a Global Market, with ATEEZ being the youngest (started Oct 2018), so super good choices to react to. ;) BTS Blood, Sweat and Tears introduced me to the world of kpop. There's a lot of story/lore behind this MV (as mentioned in the other comments). But you'd probably like their other more hard-hitting songs like FIRE, NOT TODAY and MIC Drop so I hope you check those out. As for ATEEZ, I really love this new group so much so I'm glad that you are also really impressed with Wonderland. They have lot of hard-hitting title tracks but the top 3 MVs for me would be HALA-HALA, ANSWER and FIREWORKS (I'M THE ONE). And SAY MY NAME too! Oh no, that's 4 already. They also follow a storyline but I think you'd still be able to piece them together when you the other video. Sorry, this became too long! Looking forward to your next reaction video. ;)

For ateez, please react their new mv " Im the one" Impretty sure you'll like it. And for BTS, please react to ON mv. The one you watched by bts was extreamly complicated and in my opinion was not a good choice for a first reaction. And if you wanna check another group please react to Verivery - get away mv. That's also a recent mv I guess it came out like 3 days ago. You were right, kpop mvs are not something cheap 😅 actually they rarely use green screen, when you see cool backgrounds in a kpop mv thats probably real set. And there is always a perfect choreo both for male groups and female groups. For me, thats one of the most wonderful things about kpop. I hope you can continue to react kpop, I'ld like to see your reactions to other groups and other songs of these groups.

Blackpink songs are all fireeee even the b-sides and their MVs doesn't use green screens or cgi except for whistle so all the production you see are all made by yg staffs/production team. You can’t spell BEST without BTS. they are full of substance. Their songs have meanings and messages. U should always turn on captions to all MVs. There’s a reason why they are the biggest worldwide group right now. It takes time to discover BTS if you are willing to put time into it. The other groups are visuals and catchy songs and lyrics. Not much more. So if u just want to listen to kpop go to the other groups. BTS needs to be appreciated and there so much content you would never run out. And of course the support of army. thank you so much for reacting to ateez!!! i'll give you some basic info about them: ateez is an 8 member boy group under kq entertainment. they have a pirates concept. the members are hongjoong, seonghwa, mingi, yunho, san, wooyoung, yeosang and jongho. they debuted on october 24, 2018 with two songs: pirate king and treasure. if you're interested in checking out more of ateez's music i recommend their newest song from their newest album: fireworks (i'm the one) and some older songs like say my name, wave, illusion, answer, pirate king and treasure. i hope you will check these out :)

You should watch Ateez MAMA 2019. they did a mash up of Wanderland and BTS song. It was done live.You can really see their full potential. Btw Minggi ( the rapper with red hair in Wanderland ) wont be appearing in Fireworks, only his voice. He is taking time off. Hope he come back soon .really miss him

Thank you for your reaction. I think you'll find a lot of music that you'll enjoy within Korean music. I am an older listener of Korean music, but more importantly, I'm a lover of all kinds of music. I wasn't finding a lot of "western" music enjoyable these past 9 years and found "foreign" or "international" music, especially Kpop and it has opened my ears to so much good music. Obviously, there's Kpop, but also KRock, KHiphop/KRnB, etc...It can actually be quite a fascinating and exciting journey. Good luck. I hope you find some new favorites!

Oof okay first of all great job Josh, whoever you are, you picked great songs👌. And I totally understand, with BTS because they’re so versatile and have so many different kinds of songs it’s always crazy difficult as a fan to pick the first one to show someone. Blood, Sweat and Tears is an amazing song but for someone in your case that doesn’t know kpop, BTS, also that you need captions and that BTS has an entire storyline which is what makes their MV’s unique, you’d definitely have that lost expression on your face lol. I recommend Mic Drop or Fake Love from BTS next, it’s just a more easier transition for westerners into kpop or BTS. Trust me though once you really learn about their music videos you’d watch the Blood, Sweat & Tears music video with a totally different eye and perspective✨

Thank you very much for being honest! Not many reactors do it and I personally appreciate it a lot :) When it comes to BTS, I would recommend you react to "ON (Kinetic Manifesto Film)", "Black Swan MV", "MIC Drop MV (Steve Aoki Remix)", "Airplane Pt. 2 MV" and any song from their latest album called "BE", in which the members describe how they are dealing with the pandemic ("Dis-ease" and "Blue and Grey" don't have MVs, but they're really great! "Life Goes On" does have MV tho). If you want to see their more hiphop-y side, I recommend looking into their cyphers (they have four of them, the third one is my favourite), "UGH" from their second latest album, or either of the rappers' solos off of their second latest album "Intro: Persona", "Interlude: Shadow" and "Outro: Ego". What I would point out tho is that even though BTS do have their share of typical pop-y songs, they do enjoy experimenting with their sound and playing with different genres, and don't want to tie themselves to a specific genre of music. They produce and write their own lyrics (the rappers, who have their own solo mixtapes, especially) and they do like to tackle topics that are meaningful for them, so I definitely recommend turning on the CC (closed captions) while watching the MVs OR (preferably) reading the lyrics on the site called "doolset lyrics", which contains not only translations of the lyrics, but also notes from the BTS members to certain songs and also explanations of certain phrases/language phenomena that cannot be easily understood by a non-Korean speaking person. Anyway, thank you a lot for doing this and I can't wait to see more reactions from you! I hope you'll have a great day :)
