She refused to push her new single on a show for charity and was able to get her choice up to the mountain. I had to pinch myself when I saw the title to know I wasn’t dreaming. Thank You Matts. Thank you for this public service. These are the same 3 performances that I would have chosen. 1: VH1 performance is a hidden gem that shows how Kelly not only tells the emotional story through the lyrics, but also in the tonality and texture of her voice throughout the song. It changes depending on how much hope/anger/sadness she is living. 2: Piece by piece makes me cry every time I watch it (countless), and it’s not because it’s a sad song but rather because Kelly takes what was a sad situation and delivers us a message of hope. I never feel bad after hearing it, only inspired. 3: Another commenter has already explained the behind the scene story of this performance, explaining how she was told by her label to sing “Never Again” in order to better promote herself, so I will use this example instead to deliver my own message of hope. As we all know, Kelly had a lot of personal and even more professional struggles throughout her early career, and as any singer can tell you, as a part of your body the voice is very much affected by stress. Because Kelly chooses to always sing LIVE, as fans we have heard ups and down vocally throughout her past, and it makes me so excited about how happy, energized and motivated Kelly seems to be NOW in both her personal and professional life. I’ve always loved her voice and Kelly is one of the few pop divas that I believe has a markably better voice even now than when she first came to our attention all those years ago. It’s fuller, better supported, and more nuanced. Her maturity and viv for life (consistently) shines in her most recent performances, and I am so excited about what surely will continue to be a long lasting and beautiful Kelly Clarkson future for us all. I've found my people! Saw Kelly in Vegas for the first time last summer (I'm 34 from Newfoundland, Canada), and I am still shook! Looking back at the videos I took, it's like I'm watching someone else's first time seeing her. The vocals alone mind fucked me (got no better word to use), but in between songs she was hilarious and the 'Kelly' I truly hoped/knew she'd be! Pretty sure it was too much for my brain to take in...it was also my first time in Vegas, and it was where I got my first tattoo "chemistry" on the inside of my arm
