The thing is, at what age did he know he was straight? At what age did he start dating? There seems to be some sort of misunderstanding that straight relationships are about love and gay relationships are about physical things, which is obviously ridiculous, but maybe your dad isn’t aware of this. And even if you aren’t ready to date, you can still know your sexuality. I apologize for making assumptions about your situation, I assumed you were talking about sexuality and not gender identity, but even if the latter is true the the moral about knowing who you are still applies.

There is no right age to come out so i'm sorry he said that to you and i'm sorry he got angry. people get angry when they don't understand/comprehend situations or sexualities etc. Hopefully he'll come around soon. Sometimes it takes people a little longer than others
