Great reaction ! Beggin is Number 1 in Germany this week, who would have thought that a 4 year old recording makes it to the top. Nevertheless, their album 'Teatro d'Ira vol 1'is pure class - English as well as Italian songs all good. Exceptional lyrics for Vent' anni, Coraline & La pair del Buio. This album will be top of the cue for awards end of the year, would not surprise me if it receives a Grammy.

We were all waiting for your reaction to 4.22, I’m glad you enjoyed it. My favourite section of this song is the staccato rhythm of the lyrics in the middle portion (the fear of the dark verses). I can’t see how something like that would work in English so I really hope they continue to write beautiful songs in Italian.

Agree 100%. They have found something quite unique in the way the lyrics work together with the music. They combine the natural rhythm, accentuation and sounds of the Italian language with the music perfectly. Many non English songwriters end up changing accentuation patterns to fit the music, and the music we've grown up listening to is mainly in English, so it sounds somewhat forced. They do the opposite. I love that part too, how they use a lot of words that have their accents in the second-to-last syllable ("prendimi, mordimi, toglimi", etc) and how the music actually just flows around that. The rhythm is there, you can read it and feel it. Similar with "siamo cresciuto con i lividi sui gomiti". If you just say it, the pattern is already there. Maybe that's why people love their songs even without understanding the lyrics.

The cool thing about the ending "a capella" is that it isn't just a sweet treat for the ears; the lyrics are talking about someone coming back "con le mani giunte", with the hands clapsed as if in prayer, and the singing style aims to evoke the singing in a church to amplify the power of the lyrics. Very clever choice

In theory you are right, but in practice it communicates better if you leave it in the adjective form. Actually English tends to express feelings with adjectives rather than nouns. We say ho fame (litterally I have hunger), they say "I am hungry". Ho paura = I am afraid, I am scared, they don't say I have fear (acceptable but not used) I have hunger. ho l'abitudine di.. I am used to.. and so on, so forth.

I agree the tile should be Fear of the Dark . You shouldn't say Afraid of the Dark as the title because it is a not generalization of all the people who are "Afraid of the Dark". It connotes more of a referral to some individual who is afraid of the dark. There is a fear of the dark going on around the world that he perceives. It is a condition . "Dark" being diverse people(LBGTQ) and all other creative people who do not fit the social norms including himself and his friends , in which He refers to as (We).

Thank You ! 🙌👏🏻 To the vocal coaching: I'm not 100% sure. But I guess he had vocal coaching during X Factor and kept doing training and vocal training and care routines (tour video on youtube). Recommendation for Måneskin: Their live cover (CCCP/Gianna Nannini) of "Amandoti" is great. They basically made it their own and their version is a Rock anthem for the history books. And I recommend it again: Try the Austrian Band "Bilderbuch". They are really great musicians, charismatic and unique.

@@ThePeaceAround I was born in the UK but have 100% Italian descent and my first language is also Italian as although I live in the UK and was born in the UK, when I was little we moved to Italy for 5 years before moving back to the UK & I could not speak English only Italian, I only have one passport which is Italian. What I'm basically saying is that I consider myself 100% Italian. So I say it’s "going" home back to Italy hopefully were it belongs 😁 Plus it would make Damiano very happy who likes his football and a happy Damiano can only be good for Måneskin's music 😁😁😂

Hi, I hope you're feeling much better now! See, the main reason I watch reactions to Maneskin is for this song. Yes, Damiano trains regularly, and from what I know he also refers to trainers to keep himself fit. I only want to point out one thing: the video you just reacted to is from a concert they held around March this year (you can see the "audience" is sparse and rigidly observing social distance); some generous soul fansubbed that concert and if you click on the subtitles buttons you should be able to see both the original lyrics and their translation. So, if you fancy a karaoke session... I think they also have Torna A Casa and Le Parole Lontane (although both these songs have such an inspiring video that I feel it's a bit of a pity to miss out on that).

E' giusto, nei Måneskin si sentono retaggi di Muse e Killers quanto di Arctic Monkeys e di un po' tutto l'indie rock revivalistico degli ultimi 15/20 anni. Ma la cosa più sottile e per questo meno evidente e percettibile (se non si è italiani) è il modo di Damiano di 'cantilenare' le parole come se recitasse una filastrocca, è un quasi 'rap' che sa di tarantella, c'è molto folk in tutto ciò, è qualcosa di radicato e molto 'italiano'. Non è un limite, è un valore aggiunto, è la cifra stilistica della band! :) Saluti! (Sei bella, brava e sensibile :)
