Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between, a fictional realm over which several demigods rule. It was previously ruled over by the immortal Queen Marika, who acted as keeper of the Elden Ring, a powerful force that manifested itself as the physical concept of order. When Marika shattered the Elden Ring and disappeared, her demigod children began fighting over pieces of the Ring in an event called The Shattering. Each demigod has a shard of the Ring called a Great Rune, which corrupts them with power. In the game, the player character is a Tarnished, one of a group of exiles from the Lands Between who are summoned back after the Shattering. The player must traverse the realm to repair the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord.

16:40 the moment I heard the OST and Saw the bloom I got chills through my entire body along with the Caelid line. Maxie knows how to set the tone in his videos. Malenia’s cutscene in Maxor’s video to me is 100x better than the original and is genuinely horrifying and fear inducing after everything you just went through with phase 1

George RR Martin himself has never been consistent with the way he pronounces his own made up fantasy names you can say Placidusax however. He doesn’t care and neither should we. Say it how you like as long as we know that’s who’s being talked about 😊

My favorite like that is probably H.P. Lovecraft. Someone once asked him a question about Cthulhu, and he had no idea who they were talking about. Then afterwards explained that he had never written the names to be pronounceable, so he didn't know how to either.

re: how to pronounce "Placidusax" -- you were closer than Vaati, so "oo" rather than "you", but the "c" would be pronounced as "tch" if we assume a latin etymology, which makes the most sense to me. "Placidus" as in quiet, still, etc (placid), where the "-ax" suffix would denote "the most", like the "-est" suffix in English. As a play on words, the suffix could also be "-sax" as in "saxus" meaning rock/stone, in reference to Miyazaki's dragons having stone scales that impart their immortality. So it would be either "The calmest/quietest" or "Placid rock".

When I saw the handspider thingies, I was taken back to the time, when u discovered the castle of lucaria. This was the first gameplay of u i watched (was it during covid?). I was instantly like: SHE IS AWESOMEEEEEEE 🤣 Then I screamed along with u over every handspider thingy u saw 😭😭 Now a few years later I started my own german lets play channel and that made me kinda emotional now 🤣🤣🤣 Thx Emma for being here ❤ I hope its okay, that I will always link u with the handspider thingies 🤣🤣
