For me at least, nothing in the real world can cause any megalophobic reactions. It's just the idea of something as big as a city, or maybe even a country that just makes me uneasy. Maybe because it reminds me of how minuscule humans really are compared to the universe as a whole.

You’re partially right. I do have a fear of giant things because of the harm it could cause, but I can be irrationally afraid of something that could never do me any harm. That giant shark thing, for example, is the single scariest picture I’ve ever seen, but it’s either a statue or it’s dead, so what harm could do to me, but I would still be terrified if I was right next to it. I don’t even like looking at it through a small screen. That’s what makes it an irrational fear.

ok I know this thread is old but I have catastrophe dreams often and the other night I had the most realistic one yet. We got nuked basically and we loaded everyone up into a truck and started driving to a shelter and I felt like I could feel the radiation already starting to kill me before we got there, it was super vivid and so real that it took me a few minutes after I woke up to realize it was just a dream.

Hey! I'm really late but at 5:27 , I live about 30 minutes away from this. Its this giant man-made house called "House on the Rock". This guy decided to spend his entire life building the craziest things in his house, which consists of, A little town, A sea museum, and carousel room, a botanical garden, and so much more things that are unexplainable. Back to the topic of the whale, I do not have megalophobia, but the first time I ever walked through this (which goes up three stories I believe?), I had to keep my eyes closed because I almost cried. (I think I was 14 or 15 at the time.) The mass size of this thing makes my stomach turn just looking at it through a screen.

Bro those apocalyctic dreams are literally the only dreams that really fuck with me, like sure, a ghost chasing you around is super scary until you find someone that can help or you figure a way out or a way to defeat the ghost. But a meteor? a black hole? a stray planet? there's no escaping or defeating that. Even if people figure a way out of the planet there's no way you're important or rich enough to get a ticket and even less so for your family. That shit is the most hopeless and scary type of dream you can have dude.

I had two dreams maybe like in 2019? In the first one, I was able to see that the landscapes were something you'd see out of a disney movie. The flowers had smiley faces and they were flowing with the grass and the wind. Then the point of view is from me sitting in the back of the car, I looked out the window up at the sun and it exploded. My vision went completely black & it felt like my heart had actually stopped. As I woke up I was breathing heavily and crying. Then probably a week after that I had another dream where me and my brother were playing in the driveway while our parents were sitting on the porch. We all looked up at the moon and it was huge. Eventually it blew up but we just stood there watching. Then it was like the moon reversed back to it's orignal state as we just stared at it.

I don't know if just my general fear of heights, but I have this to a certain degree. I'm from Vegas. When I was young, and went to go walking around the strip. I dreaded going into Caesar's Palace- because I used to panic over seeing this giant Trojan horse statue sitting outside of a luxury toy shop. It used to move its head, and let out steam from its nostrils for show. And if that didn't do it for ya, its eyes would glow red as well. That's not a fun thing for a kid to see I tell ya... Also, stepping inside of the Luxor pyramid, and being ground level- while also looking up at the top of the building would just give me anxiety like you wouldn't believe...
